I have an iPad, iPhone and Mac. I still can't get Folder Lock to sync between the iPad and iPhone? Also, wish there was a product for the Mac?

I think this is a great software for file encryption, which ensures that no personal or confidential data is shared with anyone it's not meant to, and I would highly recommend it. It's also fast and quite easy to use, it's pretty straightforward to hide files/folders or to lock them.

Nachteile

I wished the tool also had a password suggestion/creation option as that would've made this even more complete (since you have to create them often) and thus ensured the security of the files

What I like most is that the Folder Lock is that it is very easy to use, fast and versatile. It's simple to use it in the way that best suits your security needs.

Use on an external device is a bit confusing, but that's my fault because I'm impatient.

Apart from the folder lock ability the software has secure wipe files and clearing history facility which is really helpful.

Customer service is poor. It's little hard to get contact with them for any support. I wish they add a live chat support.

I have been using Folder Lock for some years now snd has never let me down. I had an occasion to contact customer support once and they resolved the issue very quickly for me. It gives me peace of mind knowing the locked folders won’t be seen by anyone but me.

What is not to like? It is very functional and easy to use. Nothing about this I don’t like.

The software is very good for security purposes. It hides folders from unwarranted/public view; only those allowed to see files do. However, the software needs to be improved on more sensitive files. it must have partitions

Folderlock manages all my passwords synchronized across all my devices - desktop, laptop, smart iPhone and iPad(s). I really like to fingerprint reader on my iPad, desktop and laptop, and the facial recognition on my iPhone !!

It took me a while to get used to how I would add a new login when on my iPhone. But once you figure out all the features it's incredible.

This software is easy to install and fairly easy to use. We have encrypted all our sensitive data. With Folder Lock even if someone gains access to your computer they cannot compromise your data and information that is locked within Folder Lock.

It is somewhat inconvenient to have to log into the folder every time you want to get your information. (Once a day if you choose that. We lock ours after every use) But in actuality it is a small price to pay for security.

It's very easy to manage and protect important files. I was using this software from last 4-5 hours since i started to use android mobile device. But before 7-8 months ago, i lost all my important files when i updated the version.

This software adds two to three layers of password security and encryption to our company files. We secure customer credit card information, employee personal information, other personal files with only two clicks. This is worth it!

Write down the passwords somewhere, if you forget a digit or letter you cannot get in. It's super good, but super bad if you contract amnesia somehow...

Software allows free trails on all of its versions. Once i found the best one for myself, which included usb and cloud protection, I was very pleased with its ease of use for older person such as myself.

I do believe encryption is very important part of my firm´s security. Since I do not have much experience with keeping my files safe myself, I am happy to know that it can be done for me.

Compared to other products of this kind, prices are rather decent. To find whole bundles of these products for a fair price within 30 - 60 dollars, at least for my needs, was a great value for my money.

Its mobile versions are just as impressive. I own both android and apple phones, so the fact I can have one app and account for same use makes the whole protection thing a lot easier.

Lack of clear instructions at first. User interface was rather confusing for me at first. Too many options, I was almost afraid what each will do.

I've used Folder Lock for quite a few years & whilst I only use it very occasionally I completely trust the security it offers. I store folders that I prefer others can't access on an external drive, I'm not sure if I could access these files should I use the external drive on another computer without installing the software first but believe this is an option as I used Folder Lock many years back to encrypt DVDs with a password, this worked well.

Nachteile

I did for a while get a nag screen saying the programme was not registered, (it is fully legal) but this stopped occurring some time back so no complains! It may have related to temporary loss of an Internet connection?

I use Folder Lock to protect my tax forms, important papers, and different account passwords, especially for banks and investments. I use is every day. A couple of years ago I had someone invade my old computer with Folder Lock and they didn't get into the protected folder. In fact the guy who fixed the computer didn't even know it was on my computer.

I love how easy the software is to use and how it encrypts your lockers. I use FolderLock to store all my randomly generated passwords so I never have to worry about remembering them. It is a great software with a non-expensive price.

There are a couple of things, when I first installed FolderLock it would cause my computer to crash whenever I created a new locker, this was fixed though by just uninstalling and reinstalling again. Another thing is that I wish the mobile version of FolderLock also encrypts data, it does not unfortunately (told by support).

When I using it FL wipes my custom Quick Access items. I had to save them and I must use a batch file to restore them whenever I use FL.
Also when files in a protected folder are already in use (e.g. playlist files in a player) FL does not block the player to use those files when "Protection (On)" is set.
Also it would be great if FL cleared the traces of files in protected folders from e.g. ccleaner, w10 timeline etc.
Windows Explorer is known to restart itself sometimes for whatsoever reasons. It's not a big deal but if so FL cannot be restarted only if computer is restarted.

This software is very reliable and extremely secure. It has very good features likes locking portable USB drives and USB external hard disks. It also has additional features like encryption which is more secure than just to lock a folder or drive and no one can access the data without the password.

This software may not work very well with older versions of Windows like Windows 7 but it works very well with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I love the ease of locking down my client data drive, it gives me the confidence of additional security. I also use their flash drive lock software, so I don't have to worry about someone stealing data, should I loose my flash drive.

If you need to work on multiple files located in different folders, or you need to organize your files in the vault, then Folder Lock is the best and may be the only program that will let you unlock with password the entire vault and see it a s"drive". Some other programs let you extract from the vault only one file, work on it, and put back, which is useless and time consuming.

There is a message that pops up every time I open an encrypted file running windows 10. It says we should open such lockers in windows 7 or older, and move to a backup-able FAT32 lockers. This is a serious concern. Does it mean my data is not protected? When will this be fixed? It is a major stumbling block to feeling secure with encrypted files.

It does just what the name suggest, locks and secure all the files. The capablity of the tool to secure sepecific folder and removable drives is one of the best feature. The availablity of the software for desktop as well as mobile devices helps in securing all the data.

Files might get corrupt in case of a system failure. The password set with the software is important as if it is lost recovery of the data would be very complex.

In all the years using this software, I don't think it has ever crashed or locked up. The interface is simple (although it deviates slightly from some of the Windows standards, i.e. the "Minimize" and "Restore" icons in the upper right). It is fast to open and close.

Nachteile

The way the software updates the locked folder doesn't trigger an "update" flag, so Windows (and third-party products) don't know that the file has changed. This is a problem because neither the OneDrive nor Google Drive products re-sync the file after the folder is closed. This means that I have to do a manual backup. I reached out to Folder Lock tech support twice about this issue and they did not offer a solution.

Customer service needs to be expanded to phone service. You will never get my support until you do that. My License has to be renewed by your office. The last time I went to your web site customer support to send a request for help and the message crashed and never got to you. Then I had to search for the personal emails of people that helped me in the past and lucked out that one of them was still working for you. What if that person did not work for you no longer. I would be dead in the water.

The UI that makes it easy to use. Not a big rocket science. The ability to create portable lockers on your External harddrives and open in any machine that has Folder Lock installed is another amazing features if you're looking at keeping your data secure.

The ability to upload your data to the cloud still didn't convince me about using it. It needs further subscription. I have used SpiderOak in the past that provides secure cloud back ups.

Not sure if the cloud is as secure as spider oak .

This program is brilliant in design and use ~ a total solution to an otherwise unsolvable dilemma regarding data security issues
