It's an incredibly affordable option compared to Restream. In addition, it's no extra cost to run two RTMP Pull links. On Restream, to run just one RTMP Pull link is an additional cost. Additionally, Castr has servers located in my city, unlike Restream, making latency significantly lower.

Easy of use, multi-tool, consistent, easy for others to join!

Vorteile

For someone who was looking for a platform to be able to stream to multiple websites, without having the overhead to be able to do it locally, Restream came as a big help. I did not need server grade hardware to stream to multiple platforms, just one stream that I send to Restream that is then sent out to ALL connected platforms. The ability to see chats from all these different platforms in one location is something I love about Restream. The only thing I need to worry about is the ability to send one good stream to the main service. Everything else just falls in place without me having to lift a finger.

Nachteile

The inability to stream to a Facebook page on the free version is a let down. For someone who is just starting out, it might be difficult to pay a monthly bill when the customer acquisition cost is already worrisome. But it is not a detriment to growth because the free plan will suffice for 95% of all first time users. It would also help to be able to stream to Facebook page when you have less than 100 followers, which would make it easier for those entering the market.

Restream was a game changing for us. We specialize in live, weather coverage. Sometimes that means unplanned, time-sensitive, storm coverage. Restream allows us to go live to all of our platforms quicker than any other platform we've ever used. Restream allows us to go live to many platforms with few clicks. With Restream, we go live to multiple platforms with less clicks than it would take to manually go live on Facebook alone. If you're not using Restream, you're doing it wrong.

Nachteile

The team at Restream seems to always be innovating and trying to stay up-to-date with the latest each platform has to offer. Naturally I assume they're restrained by available API access to those platforms, which isn't their fault. I wish I could do a few more things, such as giving my Facebook streams different video names and post descriptions. I also wish I could use Restream to control the crossposting opportunities seen natively on Facebook.

I have been using Restream to simultaneously broadcast my video game streams to Twitch and Youtube for years now and it keeps getting better!

Nachteile

The only downside is that sometimes the game and titles of the broadcast don't match up on each platform so you may have to adjust things on each site before you get started.

Vorteile

1/ You can stream on multiple platforms as promised, and it's extremely interview-friendly.
2/ With very little knowledge, anybody can have access to a larger audience.
3/ They added guest management system that makes it ridiculously easy to do interviews. I've never had a single guest fail to connect from any platform. This is important to me because my guests are not tech savvy.

Nachteile

Understanding how to aggregate chat is hard. Just need some better documentation, but it can certainly be done.

Having the chat imposed over my game is very handy. It keep me from looking away from my game to read the chat.

Nachteile

It has some quirks which make it difficult to learn and use. It frequently "forgets" the stream key which you don't know until you hit the Start Stream button. It will not function with no indication why until you realize it needs to update as sometimes there is no indication of an update. It does not include all aspects of chat. For instance, it doesn't include system messages where So-and-so has hosted the chat or a subscription.

I am able to use an internet connection that expands into several to transmit my daily show to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and periscope.

Nachteile

The only downside is that every so often I will get a rate hit that changes the quality. This could be on the entry side.

I like the vast amount of different platforms you can stream to.
I also like the ease of use of the product. One stream key and you're done.

What I'd like to see is more platforms available on the service. I'd definitely like to also see Facebook Business streams implemented in the free version. Streaming to your own profile really doesn't make much of a difference as far as dissemination, because obviously way more people can follow a business page on Facebook than a personal profile.

Vorteile

It's quite easy to use and set up along with being able to connect to basically every streaming platform. It helps to grow an audience because, even on the free version, I can still reach two streaming platforms instead of one.

Nachteile

The added delay because my stream is going through a separate service makes it really hard to interact with chat. Also sometimes the connections just don't work and I have to either reconnect (specifically to Mixer) or restart the stream.

Vorteile

It allows us to stream out to many different streaming sites such as Twitch, Mixer, YouTube, and more. It is simple to setup. It also is able to combine chats from each streaming site and let you know where each post is being made from.

There is a little extra stream delay compared to streaming to just one platform.

I would like to see it utalize the perks of mixer twitch and YouTube like bits or stamps that are used in Thouse services.

I love the idea of sending out one rtmp feed and being able to connect to multiple sources. Also, in testing being able to turn on and off different stream feeds, I love that functionality.

At first look, it seems a bit expensive and I am not sure if I can easily quantify the cost of a stream so I know how much I might be paying
