I love that I can get some additional education online without having to travel for it. It makes it a lot easier to listen and follow along without setting transportation and hotels. Saturday online conferences are great as I can still get things done at home and watch my son as well.

Nachteile

Making sure those online hear the speaker all the time. It was uncertain whether the presentation was starting until someone asked about it. Sometimes I could not use the feature to mute my microphone. Not sure if that was just an issue with zoom or not.

The ability to connect to other attendees/users that are in person or virtual is the best part about it. I also like that you could get to know others with their Ice Breakers. I think this really allows others to either participate as much or as little as they want.

I had a little difficult with finding the surveys for each video and at times I got a bit lost and had to start over, this was a little frustrating and time wasted.

I liked that the app was easy to use and gave users options to watch live events from a mobile platform or from a desktop understanding that many of us watch PD sessions for work and some times need to watch it from the office.

I don't find anything wrong with the app, the chat can be a little slow, but that can also be due to internet traffic at events and not necessarily the app.

Whova is ideal for managing conferences in person and virtually. It is the ideal platform for huge conferences because it organizes things in good order and very easy to use. It makes the art of managing a huge conference so easy.

Whova is a little too technical for me as i am not too computer literate. The fact that a username and password is provided and needs to be remembered makes Whova a little technical for me. With the many accounts i have at the moment, i easily forget my user details.

The software overall has the functionality needed for a small to mid sized event. However, the user interface is not very inviting to the end user

Everything is being sold as add-ons. An event management software should have all of the basic functionality packaged in. The add-on features add to the total cost and the pricing overall does not become very transparent to the end user.

Whova is an excellent app/online platform for attending events. There are a number of ways that attendees, vendors, presenters, etc. can interact. There is the chat and direct messaging features and you can also create a discussion topic where people can discuss a topic or question. The live stream has worked perfectly for me and comes with a chat, poll, and Q/A section for interacting with presenters and other attendees. The love stream allows the option to open in Zoom. The agenda tab is a great way of seeing what is coming up and you can add events to your personal agenda and get notifications of when events are starting right on you outlook (or other?) calendar. You can share videos, photos, and information and track discussions around those items. It is easy to track down other attendees, share contact information, and send direct messages. When the conference is over the information stays under the event so you can go back and re-watch recorded sessions, find information in past chat rooms, etc. I have only used this app for virtual conferences but I can see how useful this would be for mixed and in person events as well. I have never been a presenter so I can only comment on the attendee side of things.

I do wish that the zoom and whova chat functions were linked. Currently you need to pay attention to both which is not always obvious in full screen mode.

Time taken for the response. When we send a message we are not getting the reply soon. It takes sometimes a day to get the reply. This may make us little worried for an immediate reply .

The functionality of uploading the event was easy to use, and from the user side, the app was easy to navigate to move between the schedule, information about specific programs, and more details about speakers.

It's not always as easy to move from one part of the platform to the other as I think it could be. It would be nice to be able to "pop out" the main presentation screen and keep the rest of the platform on another screen for those of us who have multiple screens.

being able to find attendees; a HUGE help would be a filter to organize by city/state. A big help would be to have photos of all attendees. Another help would be to have city/state and not have to click on attendee name to find out if they are in my state

Nice features, admin interface relatively user-friendly, user-interface very user-friendly.

I used it for a large virtual conference (1000+ attendees, up to 10+ parallel sessions), and it was down for >1.5 hours. Extremely embarrassing and impossible to recover from it.

Medium impact weakness is that the interface is not very responsive (i.e. slow).

Minor impact (but nonetheless frustrating) weakness is that the admin interface is buggy (or has 'quirks' like they call it themselves).

From lots of things we could notice this is not a company built on solid software engineering (e.g. they use "FirstName LastName" as the 'key' to identify attendees, and some of the admin features behave in a very illogical and unexpected manner).

I could pick my agenda for the workshops that I wanted to take and it showed the session in in-depth detail. I also was able to put an alert before each workshop began. I also took notes on my iPhone. I can't find the notes now but I took them.

The best was the added agenda and I could also personalize it. I took notes with the app but I cannot find those notes. That needs to be changed and made easier.

I have not purchased this software to use with my business, but have used it for two large conferences I attended and it seemed to make the events run seamlessly. The ease of which attendees can peruse the available sessions and then add events to their own agendas is wonderful. You can click between the full schedule and your own agenda easily.

Also, the web version and the mobile version are both useful in additional different ways. The mobile version is great for engaging the attendees with discussion posts and surveys. The web version was especially robust for this past conference, which was all virtual. Each session was clickable from the agenda and once in the page for a session, a zoom presentation was available to view and a chat and Q&A tab were available at all times along side the presentation window. (Both web and mobile have the same easy-to-use agenda building section.)

Nachteile

The mobile app does not allow you to view nested zoom presentations for any given session. I believe many people would utilize that feature instead of having to sit on their computers. That being said, these were learning sessions so perhaps that was a choice of the organizing body since they wanted attendees to have a separate window open to work through the training modules in their software.

Whova is a wonderful addition for any conference. I first used Whova in 2018 while attending RTUC in
Las Vegas. As you can imagine, this is an enormous place with lots of things to do for a first time visitor.
Whova let me organize my agenda, set up meetings and after hours get togethers, all in one place. I loved being able to look in one place to find what was coming up. This year our conference was done online only. The usual get togethers and lunches were missing but Whova still made it personal. We had pictures, messages, events, question and answers from sessions and even a leader board to show who was doing the best. I would love to attend future events online as long as Whova is a part of them. You truly have a very easy to use and appealing app. Thank you for making attending yearly Conferences more enjoyable even during the Pandemic.

I found this software very helpful in keeping up the events at the Phi Theta Kapp National Convention. There were thousands of people and so many events it was overwhelming at times. I liked how the software helps you meet others at the convention, displays photos of events and there is ecen a messaging feature.

Nachteile

The only drawback I had using this software was trying to find an log onto the PTK Convention in the first place. It has been a year so maybe that issue was fixed. You had to wait and get a code to join the Convention, maybe PTK could have sent the code with the confirmation emails or something.

The software is very intuitive. Our conference attendees understood and were able to use the many features mostly without any help from us.

We chose to keep costs as low as possible, so that resulted in less customization, but it worked for our situation.

I loved the way that you could choose your agenda and got reminder emails & events on the Google Calendar. I also liked that I could change the event times to my local time. I found it easy to organize the sessions I wanted to attend.

I would have loved to ask direct questions to seminar presenters during the conference. I thought of questions after the session was concluded, and wasn't always able to find the email of the person presenting.

You can easily find the conference your company is participating in. By having the app on your phone, you can review the agenda, see the attendee list, which is great for targeting specific leads, and engage in messaging with other conference attendees. Overall, it's a great tool for networking at conferences.

Nachteile

For some events, lead generation is limited if you are an exhibitor or sponsor. In other words, you can't access delegate information so it limits targeting to some degree.

Everything is available at my fingertips on Whova. If I have a question, I can find the answer. If I want to communicate with other attendees or post photos or information, it is extremely easy.

So far the program is very thorough and I had no issues or suggestions for improvement.

Through using Whova, I have been able to meet and establish professional connections with individuals that I otherwise may not have encountered. Additionally, the integration of Whova has significantly enhanced the attendee experience for various events. Onboarding and accessing the app is also straightforward and convenient.

It is worth noting that utilizing all of the features and functions of Whova may require a bit of time and effort to understand. To fully reap the benefits of this platform, it is important to have some patience and dedication to learning how to use it effectively.
