Some apps might be used as both trigger and action, such as Office 365, Google Calendar, WordPress, and YouTube. Others can be only a trigger (Pay Pal). But there is a third group that cannot function on their own (e.g. LinkedIn). In these cases, activation only happens with other apps as triggers (Facebook or Twitter), which may be considered a drawback.

Zapier is actually one of my most favorite tools. I makes connecting different softwares so easy and helps me tremendously as i am not a dev. If i want to connect anything to anything - Zapier is my way to go. It has saved me countless hours of manual work and enabled me to not always have to rely on a dev. Thank you for this awesome software! Also buidling the zaps is really easy once you get used to it.

Zapier simply allows us to connect any of our web tools with any other. That's just exactly what most of us need! We've, for instance, used it to notify our Sales managers (on Slack) and our Accounting department (by email) whenever a deal was won. We've also used it for many high business value purposes.

Nachteile

Some automations don't always work properly or need to reconnect regularly. Zapier doesn't actually crash, and it sends you a notification that your "Zap" (i.e. automation workflow) didn't work properly, but still, it happens and requires to keep and eye on it quite often.

The user experience when navigating the task history is a bit poor. If you have 1000 tasks on old you can't review them quickly, as you can't change the visualization of 10 tasks per page.
The customer success assistance is only available if you choose the Company plan, other than that there's no way you can get any assistance to develop your Zaps.

It gets my various sites / softwares / platforms talking to each other which means less work for me day to day, I do feel like I'm not using it to it's full capacity but what I do use it for is time-saving and instant.

I've had trouble with trying to GROUP zaps and have some sort of hierarchy - I still haven't figured that out which bugs me. Whether it's possible to have an 'if this' then 'that' zap, or if not this doesn't fire.. I've been to support about it but not found a solution for my problem. This is in regards to partnering with teachable and having a multi-course bundle fire as ONE membership enrolment. Still searching.

Very easy to integrate software once you don't have a native integration and you CAN'T rely on tech guys (ie: IT team) to solve your problem. With a few clicks, you make A and B software start talking. In our example, we need to make Pipedrive CRM create a CARD in JIRA, the way was Zapier.

Price can be an issue depending on your size or how many problems you will solve with Zapier. For example, you have a few integrations and Free plan handles it - OK! But you have few integrations and you need a paid plan (and you're not a company) -- it can be expensive for you.

I loved how I could integrate Slack and Google Drive with Zapier. It allowed us to give out internal questionnaires made on Google drive to employees. Then when an employee completed the questionnaire our management team was alerted on Slack. Super easy way to track responses.

It's not the most intuitive software to use and will take some time to learn how to best use it.

Zapier is a great tool to hook up two pieces of software and have it communicate with each other. I can quickly deploy a zapier solution that used to require me to write a lot of code. I can tell my non-techie team to use zapier instead of harassing the dev team. It's been a huge time saver.

Maybe I'm an edge case, but I frequently find two pieces of software that I use that need to communicate in a specific way, and there's no way to do that in Zapier. It's as if they look for the most basic application.

As a developer, I am able to look at the api docs, spend an hour or two connecting the dots and testing, and it works. Which begs the question - why can I do it and Zapier cannot? And if I wasn't a developer, how many people need these features and they aren't getting it?

I think Zapier is the leader of integrations between SaaS, and it performs most of them through real time, that is something that we were not able to find on it's competitors.

It's really helpful to test a new concept on your business, avoiding wasting time building something that is uncertain.

Zapier is an extremely user-friendly application. It has an extensive list of software with which it integrates. The guided step by step builder is extremely easy to follow. You simply pick the two apps you want to integrate and it walks you through it.

The customer support is helpful and responds quickly but sometimes the 1 in a 100 times I reach out to them for help the solution is quite technical and I wish the support was via phone or screenshare. They currently offer only email support on the plan our organization has.

I find it hard to get Zapier to successfully and consistently connect my apps. My latest connection failed and I simply gave up. I know that sounds lame, but, I feel it's best to have an all-in-one website with email, webinars, everything under one umbrella rather than try to connect apps together through Zapier.

ALL THE INTEGRATIONS. You can connect just about anything to anything. I like to be an early adopter for new products, and they usually start off with a Zapier integration instead of integrating with 50 different email providers (of which the one you want isn't listed, right?) Because they used Zapier, you can get to anything else you want.

Sometime the integrations suck. They hardly give you any meaningful data to work with. BUT that's not Zapier's fault. It's the companies' faults for making a junky integration.

It helps you integrate the tools that don't have direct integration options available yet, that too without needing to know much technical stuff. So, it saves time. Plus, it doesn't take much time to learn Zapier.

I like how you can have real-time updates via email when a Zap fails for some reason, this helps in finding issues in integration earlier.

When there is an Integrations issue, you kind of need to contact the support team of all of the vendors involved (when you are trying to fix the issue fast) i.e. tools that you are integrating, and Zapier support to figure out where exactly the problem is, so you can go ahead and try to fix the issue.

Zapier has changed the way software SAAS companies work. Now they need not worry about creating tons of integrations with 3rd party software. Just create a Zapier integration once and offload the rest to Zapier. You can literally connect to hundreds of software, scripts etc out there with just a point and click using Zapier easy interface.

They should look into costing. It starts to get costly -particularly for a Bootstrapped business - as you add more Zaps.

The list of 3rd-party tools Zapier can connect with is impressive. It's so helpful to be able to use a zap to bridge a connection between different tools, and not need to have coding knowledge to do it!
Users are given easy-to-follow instructions as they move through the process of connecting tools, determining the trigger events, and creating appropriate actions. I also like the 'test' function to try out a connection and double-check the accuracy before making the zap live.

I find myself wishing there were some additional trigger events and actions available as options.

It still fringes on the techie side of things. I think they could take it further and disguise all the difficult steps. For example, it has always seemed a little confusing to me when and how to go out to my product and simulate a sale so it knows where my transactions are located. Lot of room for improvement there to remove friction from their process.

- unlike their competitors, I think Zapier covers almost 90% of the available apps on the internet with the exception of a rare few.
- a really convenient way to connect apps that are otherwise doesn't work together.
- a forever free plan that you can use to test things out.

- the only problem with Zapier is that things can get expensive pretty fast if you are not careful with your usage.

The pricing is horrible for small businesses and makes it hard to invest for small businesses. It's not near the top of the list of purchases for a small biz and is truly a "nice to have."

I love cutting corners without affecting quality. I'm a productivity expert. My job is to teach people how to be more productive. Zapier allows you to create connections between software that doesn't typically work well with others. Creating a Zap is very simple, and the templates are useful.

I don't like that its missing some of our key software, and that you have to pay premium to access some of the software connectors. I wish I could do more with Zapier on our budget.
