It really depends on what you want to do with this software.
The options are almost limitless.
You can setup your own workspace computer for rendering for example or even play games over a high end pc.
You could also create your own software, all in one place.

Great platform for starting out!
Overall gcp is great. I really enjoy how quick it was to get started and how fast we went from account creation to running.

Google has made it very easy to get up running at a basic level, and integrating into their big data tools is quite easy

Setting an app up for the marketplace is less straight forward, and is lacking in a number of metering options for the deployment methods we use

Using the free Google Cloud platform and it has plenty of features
I've been using the Google Cloud platform for many years now, I managed to get in when they had free accounts which gave me 50 users and all I pay is for my domain name. These days you need to pay for it but it is still worth it for the simplicity of use and the added features you get if you are paying for it.

Easy to set up a server in minutes!
All I needed was a cloud server to run Minecraft. After jumping through hoops with another service, I went over to Google and was up and running in minutes.

At this time I am using Google Cloud more on a personal level, but am very satisfied.
Vorteile
I like that I don't have to worry about losing my photos. My phone is full and I don't have space when my family and friends send me their photos in a text.
Nachteile
There really isn't anything I don't like about this software--other than the fact that I don't understand how it works. But I realize that I really don't need to!

Excelent user interface for a cloud service provider.
Vorteile
The cleanest UI I've used from all the cloud providers I work with. It has a lot of pre-built instances with many integrations, making it easier to build images using just a few clicks.
Nachteile
Pricing is a bit high. There are cheaper alternatives on the market for the same computing power and capacity, like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.

One of the best Cloud Service Provider
The overall experience with Google Cloud Platform is really amazing.
Vorteile
Google Cloud Platform or GCP is one of the best cloud providers in the world. The platform is very rich in features along with encryption, the ability to create scalable and fault tolerant infrastructure among regions and zones. It also supports storing of data with a pay as you go model.
Nachteile
GCP is really good. I don't have any type of dislike about this cloud provider. It has almost zero to no latency.

Simplicity of Google comes at the cost of poor customer service
I spent three hours create a google form and then it got locked "for legal review". Apparently, Google thought I was creating a phishing scam, because there was a question on the form that asked for a "Password". No one from customers support was able to help me or escalate the issue.

Like I said in my most liked, the peace of mind knowing that the documents and photos are being saved even if I don't save them.

Best for big projects and companies
GCP is one of the best if not the best cloud platforms, I used it multiple times but I stopped mainly because of the cost, especially the upload bandwith. They have very powerful servers, a reliable network but that comes to a price that doesn't fit the project I am in charge of.

Google reigns supreme
We use most Google products (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sites, etc). I use Google sheets for all of my living documents (i.e. things I update every day). I can access these documents anywhere (including my phone). It's incredibly easy to see who's made changes, and link spreadsheets (the importsource function is clutch!).
Everything on the Google platform is beautifully integrated. I've used Outlook before and it just doesn't compare to Gmail in terms of user-interface and efficiency.

Committing to the Google ecosystem? Buy into Google Cloud Platform
The best way to describe Google Cloud Platform is to say that it is to Google Drive as MS Office is to MS Access and SQL Server.
Vorteile
Moving to Google's ecosystem is Kevin Durant joining the Golden State Warriors. Microsoft's backend package (heh) is and has always been bloated and support is not the most supportive. (Hey, at least it isn't AWS, am I right?) Using Google Cloud Platform is a good bet for the near future.
Nachteile
Like all backend database platforms, it is a commitment to the ecosystem and migration in and out of it will make you question your career choice.

We use google for our business. Drive, Calendar, email, all nicely integrate. As a Mac user, it works well with the Mac email client and calendar. Not so good with outlook - a lot of people here complain about missing meetings and invitation responses. Google sheets and docs allow great real-time collaboration. I think they've nailed it.
