The only quibble I have at all is that the mobile app (Capture) is buggy. When it works it's super useful, but it frequently doesn't work for me, which has caused me major heartache at times. It's gotten to the point where I no longer use it, as I can't afford to lose work. The downside of this is that, while I can use my iPhone's native screen recording feature, 1) that has its own bugs, namely that if I record for longer than a few minutes it'll freeze, and 2) it doesn't record sound. The only reason the sound recording aspect of Capture is useful to me when the app is working is that it allows me to visually sync my desktop and mobile Capture tracks. Basically, when I'm including mobile content in a video, it's usually overlaid on top of a desktop background. I use a condenser mic to capture high quality audio, so I don't even use the audio from the Capture app in the finished product, but it's useful to have, because I can separate the audio and video from the Capture track and visually line up the audio with the audio from my condenser mic. So this just makes my editing process a little easier. It's not that big a deal, definitely not a deal-breaker, but it would be nice if they'd address it at some point.

Easy to get in and do screen captures and video editing. A growing library of cool animations, templates, and effects that they continually add to. Quick tools that are easy to learn to do a lot of effects that are dangerously close to pro platforms like adobe and final cut, only without the massive rendering time etc.

Some of the effects are a little cheap looking, but the library of options continues to grow. Sometimes the crashes and bugs are annoying, but I've seen that in the big programs as well. ESPECIALLY FINAL CUT PRO

The ease of pulling in and adding content for creation. Its not hard to use and tutorials help if needed.

Lag time during creation. This software has horrible lag when moving videos into the creation bar and when you try to use playback to edit. This creates frustration during editing as it takes much longer to create your content. I feel for the price of this product this bug should have been resolved by now. Also the list of additional content has been reduced greatly in the 2023 version.

I needed this software for my new job as an instructional designer and I'm glad I made the investment. Previous I was using Techsmith Screenflow – while it's a good tool, it's only for Macs and doesn't work well for collaboration. This is easy to learn, feature-rich, and with enough tools for decent audio edting and treatment (and that's coming from a voiceover specialist). I love the certification courses and the community of support and webinars is fantastic.

Nachteile

Some of the Windows features aren't available for Macs, such as better support for captions (including .srt files). I would also appreciate having more advanced color correction, but I know that's a nice-to-have and not a need-to-have. And finally, why isn't there an iOS app version?

The user interface is well-designed. In addition, using Camtasia is relatively straightforward - it doesn't take much time to learn the basics of the software. I liked the screen recording feature the most. It lets you record your screen and add a small window recording you as you narrate.

The pricing could be made tiered and more affordable. Also, having more free assets and templates would be very useful. I generally feel that Camtasia lacks some advanced features that more professional tools offer.

Camtasia wins for several reasons. They make it easy to capture screen recordings, easy to script and record VO, and provide great standard annotation tools. Other video editing tools like Premier or Video Studio don't offer annotation/markup options out of the box. This one feature has made Camtasia worth the ticket price.

The software seems to lock up and crash periodically. This is frustrating and I likely would have left...but the annotation and recording tools are so amazing that they outweigh this problem.

Camtasia does such a great job with screen recording, video editing and video creation. If you need a great screen recording software then this is it. The easy video editing built in makes it useful for videos recorded in other platforms and being able to export in formats supported by YouTube and most elearning platforms makes it easy.

While Camtasia does come with some stock images, it would be nice if more were included in a Camtasia subscription as opposed to having to subscribe to images as a separate service.

It's really easy to operate for any kind of user. The user experience is really cool. Only 1 or 2 tutorials are quite enough to master it. You can use it for many purposes like Screen recording, and video editing. The library is quite good for beginners not for advanced users. The screen recording feature is really cool.

If you want to create an advanced lower third or some advanced effect and transition you find the limitation. The render time is very lengthy to me compared to other software.

El programa para grabar tutoriales por excelencia, lo utilizamos mucho en el grupo para grabar formaciones y editarlas, es fantastico porque te permite una edición muy facil y con el capturador de pantalla puedes hacer las formaciones muy claras y sencillas, está claro que por algo es el mas utilizado por aquellos que graban videotutoriales para youtube. Desde nuestra experiencia ¡¡ Plenamente recomendable!!

Ho iniziato ad usare Camtasia senza aver mai fatto editing video professionale, con un background da grafico web.
Devo dire che l'organizzazione dell'interfaccia che permette di registrare lo schermo ed editare i contenuti è molto semplice e intuitiva, con funzionalità analoghe ad altri software di grafica e fotoritocco.
Ho trovato molto evidente la modalità di registrazione dello schermo, e l'editing del video, per la maggior parte 'drag and drop'. Ho molto apprezzato la possibilità di catturare tutto ciò che accade sullo schermo del PC, compreso il mouse: il movimento di quest'ultimo può essere modificato in fase di editing conferendo al video un aspetto davvero professionale.

Nachteile

Durante l'utilizzo di Camtasia 2020 ho riscontrato dei punti deboli, che sono sono stati corretti con la versione 2021: non è possibile salvare in rete le risorse media (difetto risolto con un maggior controllo e personalizzazione delle risorse remote); gestione difficoltosa dei gruppi di elementi (anche questo aspetto è stato migliorato nella versione 2021). Ho inoltre notato che è preferibile utilizzare un secondo monitor per scollegare il canvas dalla timeline e agire su entrambe con maggior facilità.
Alcune parti dell'interfaccia non sono molto efficaci, e avrei preferito un numero maggiore di shortcut.

The feature of this software are very easy to use. So, I recommended my all friend and colleague to use this software. The rendering file of this software is small but the video quality is very good. that's why it's my favourite software.

This is one of the easiest products for capturing and creating videos that I've used. What's amazing about that is it's also pretty feature-rich. The way the timeline operates and the way you can add various effects and audio to the timeline is very simple and often just requires a drag and a drop. Refining exactly where you want an effect to be is quite easy as well. The way you can easily turn on and off effects that you have used is really helpful.
