I would have to say hands down the ability to see more than one child at a time in different areas. It gives me great Peace of mind knowing that I can check in on my children and know that they're okay through the day

Nachteile

At the same time it is also one of my biggest cons because it does get a little glitchy and sometimes you can't see where your child is you can't check in and there are areas where they're not visible

I like that Hi Mama has thought of everything from staff portals to children needs and schedules as well as interacting with parents and families. It is very easy to use and super convenient.

The only thing I could say is, if internet connection is down and/or lost we have to physically write things down for kids and then go back into the app when internet is back up and put all that information in.

What I liked here is that thanks to this software, we save time by avoiding paperwork. Everything is online and the child's progress is better monitored by progress reports.

I like the notifications and alerts the most. It helps me to feel more connected to my daughter even though she's at daycare and I'm working. I think it helps me to relate to her day and ask her questions about how it went when I pick her up. Also, the quick communication channel with the director and daycare staff can't be beat! I love how I can send one message and it goes to everyone who interacts with my child instead of just a single email where only one person will read it.

I'd like a little more control over the types of alerts I receive. Sometimes I have already paid my invoice but the director hasn't been able to update my invoice status yet so I'll get an additional alert even though I've already paid it. Also, I'd like control over when I receive some alerts, like invoice alerts. For me personally, 7am isn't the best time since that's when my daughter is usually waking up and we're starting our morning routine.

Seeing photos and videos of what my child is up to throughout the day is my favourite part of the app (especially during the pandemic where participating in their class activities is currently restricted as a precaution). The updates help me feel connected to my daughter while I’m at work. We love looking at the pictures together after she gets home and she’ll tell me all about the activities from the day.

I would love the ability to connect with the parents of other children in my child’s class so we could arrange play dates.

I love everything about himama. Everything about it is digital including messaging and payments. A parent's child can be so far and yet so close when you switch to this app. Nothing makes a parent happier than just being with their little ones if not physically then digitally.

The app is quite helpful to both parents and school caregivers as we are able to constantly monitor our children's milestones. With the app as a parent i'm notified of any absurd this with my toddler in a timely manner. The app has also made activity scheduling in the daycare quite easy and manageable. The real time photo sharing features keeps me updated on my child's progress the entire day at school thus cutting down on anxiety.

Nachteile

The messaging feature is a bit unreliable could be I'm the only one experiencing this since I do not get notification as to whether the care giver has received my message. Probably they may also be overwhelmed by numerous messages from parents. If this feature an be made more user friendly then the app will be worth my investments.

I would really like to see improvement on the milestones tracking. It doesn't let you get as detailed as needed. It will let me choose the name of the milestone that we're working on (like fine motor skills), but doesn't get down to the details of what specifically I saw that day. It also takes so many clicks to track something that we just don't even bother. Luckily, we don't have so many kids that it's hard to remember who is able to do what.

We got all the options included with the monthly fee. This cloud based program is fairly easy to use. I like that the parent gets an invoice so they know their bill amount ahead of time. It has alot of pluses that we have not even started using yet.

Nachteile

The salesman kinda was pushy & there was some things that I didn't realize until after I had signed up. U pay by the class so we only have 3 price points so we paid for 3 classes. I made it work to save $ monthly. I like having daily ledgers by the whole center, not having to open each child to see the ledger. This is my 3rd daycare software program & they each had their own pros & cons.

When we can't be there, HiMama helps us stay connected to our kiddos' lives while they're at daycare. It's hard to be away from them and HiMama fills that void of "not knowing" very successfully; so thankful for it!

Sometimes it can be clunky in terms of signing in and out but, for 99% of the time, it runs very smoothly and efficiently.

HiMama is growing in popularity, but when introduced to the market, I never ran into any glitches, data breaches, and the app never went down to my knowledge. Its stores information securely and is great for storing pictures and videos that might use up space elsewhere.

There isnt much to critize about HiMama except a lot of new users may not be familiar with the app. Other than that, the app is great if people use it to its full potential.

HiMama helps me stay in touch with my kids all the time at work. Communicating with my child's teacher is very easy and available to me through the message section! Your teacher will send me pictures and explanations of the day's activities. The teacher can remind me when my child needs more supplies like clothes. I love feeling the pressure when I don't feel that way.

The app always sends a copy of messages to the director without giving you the option to add or not. I don't like having no interaction with other parents in the class.

The sign in and sign off feature: it lets you see when your child arrived because as someone who doesn't take her child to school, you worry about car accidents etc.
You can see how well your child is adapting to school, if they had a disagreement with another child because children tend to hide certain things and end up lying about being sick in order to not attend school. It honestly feels like you're watching over your child like a guardian but from work.

As a new user, I have no problems with the application, I have not encountered problems like other parents with multiple children encounter.

I like the ability to send messages, either to an individual, a classroom, or to the entire center. It makes communication with my families quite easy. I also like that I have the ability to send a whole school text blast (if needed) for more emergent matters. While I haven't used that feature yet, it gives me peace of mind knowing I can reach all my families in an emergency. I also like the real time classroom counts, the attendance reports, and the wealth of information it provides parents.

Nachteile

When uploading activities/lesson plans, it would be helpful for the teachers to have the ability to save a week's plans. This would allow teachers to copy and paste frequently used activities, which would in turn,save them time when inputting plans.
I also am not fond of certain adjectives used to describe the "mood" of a child, when , without context, can be misunderstood by a parent. I have instructed my teachers to only use positive descriptors and to save other adjectives for in person communication.

Fairly simple to send a message. Photos are easy to scroll through. One list of daily meals, activities, etc.
I like the calendar button but it should include things more specific like dance, hi-nrg, hair cuts, birthdays, etc. and a page for each child.

This could be much more user friendly. It logs me out every time.
It's not visually appealing.
Home screen is the food menu and activities for one of the kids, guessing the older one but basically not useful or pertinent info.
Photos are not easy to download
I don't like that the infants STILL use paper sheets - I'd like it all in one place (that's the school I believe, not the app) but each kid should have their own page essentially.
The messaging doesn't give me a lot of options for sending messages. Only two recipients. Also, when I receive a message, it doesn't tell me which class the message is from, which teacher it's from or what child the message is for unless the teacher remembers to include any of this in a message.
If I'm out of diapers, food, etc. there should be something they can click in the app that sends me an alert.

I like the daily reports and that I can check on what my child is doing throughout the day. I also like that I can send and receive messages through the app. It makes communicating with the teachers very easy.

I don’t like that the entries are not consistent. They can vary depending on the teacher.

None. I feel like they addressed some issues that were happening with the app, like glitches and such, but they have fixed them.

I absolutely love this program. I went from taking hours filling out reports to just minutes. It has greatly increased the communication between myself and the parents of children in care. I also feel that it looks much more professional than hastily scribbled notes passed on to parents at the end of the day.

Nachteile

Price was a big obstacle for me. Having to pay in advance rather than monthly meant I had to rearrange finances to make things work and I know that this is a major issue when I reccomend this program to others.

Himama had the menu and program planning options that I was looking for which (at the time) brightwheel did not have. I've since used brightwheel with one of my peers who uses it to help her figure out how to do the program planning and it was not user friendly at all...I much prefer the ease at which I can do things with Himama.

Himama had absolutely everything I needed. Everything else that I looked at was lacking in some way.

I like the ease of use and ability to set notifications. I like the ability to download photos that are posted of my child(ren) at school. I like getting a daily report of what my child(ren) did that day and being able to message with teachers when needed.

Nachteile

Honestly, the name needs to be changed. I hate that it's called "hiMama". As my husband puts it, it's like a middle finger to all the dads who are also managing their children's care. It reinforces the stereotype that moms are the primary caregivers, while being an app for parents who need daycare because they BOTH work.

I love being able to see updates of my children throughout the day. Getting notifications to bring supplies is very helpful as well.

I would like to be able to control notifications for each part of HiMama. I would like to be able to turn off notifications for the billing side and still see the daily updates.

It's super easy to use ,I can easily access daily updates about my child's daily activities. I admire the fact that I can view the update immediatelyafter they'vebeen sent. My previous daycare used a different app that wouldn’t enable me to see his daily updates as a parent . I've never been more present in my child's life like I am now , I'm proud to say I'm his mom cause I know quite a lot of things about him now that I'm using this app.

I dislike the fact that the app doesn't allow me to upload my child's videos and other medi sent to me .

Actually the best thing about Himama is the responsiveness of the tech team behind the platform. I have submitted many ideas to improve the service, to assist us in billing, tracking regulated events and ease of recording and reporting information. Every time I received a quick and personal response to clarify my needs. Most of those ideas have been added over the last year to the service even though they all involved remodeling the categories in which they fit. The consistent movement to meet subscriber's needs is impressive to me.

Nachteile

There are still improvements to ease the need to record and report things like fire drills, but I believe they are working on it. I would also like to be able to add my own developmental categories.

Comparatively, having anything that allows me to see what my children are doing, how they are doing, and if and when they get into trouble or get hurt is impressive. I have 2 older children who are 11 and 14 that I did not have anything like HiMama with when they were in daycare and preschool. I appreciate the way the school uses it, but as for the app itself, I'm impressed with the email notifications so I don't have to log in to see when there is a message and I love the pictures I get to see throughout the day.

Nachteile

It may be my cell phone, but I cannot seem to stay logged in. I have to log in everytime and, sometimes, this can be very frustrating. I also like using the messaging system, but it just seems a little bit cumbersome. Maybe if it were set up a little more like email and be able to pre-fill and.or even save messages such as running late or my child will be absent today, that would make it a little easier to use.

The software allows me to see at any given time child enrollment numbers, child observation data and ongoing communication with child care families.

Families are purchasing a child care service on behalf of their children therefore the parents do not experience the full service directly...their children do. HiMama allows me to have connect/communicate with parents in real time keeping them up to date on centre happenings and sharing resources. This has always been the hardest part of the child care and HiMama bridges that communication gap on a daily basis.

I like the access that this provides me as a parent. As a former board member at the daycare, I know it has improved administration by cutting down on paperwork, providing easy attendance and database management, and allowing easier communication with parents. This has saved a lot of staff time, which is now spent in programming and the additional work required to safely run a centre during the pandemic.

Sometimes features are buggy, for example,photos don't always load, and I don't see messages that my partner sends through the app to teachers, but I will receive the replies to them.

I love that educators and parents can easily communicate at any point throughout the day using the app. The billing and options to pay daycare fees by credit card in the app make that task seamless. I also enjoy knowing how my child ate and slept on any given day. And the best bonus is being able to see photos of my child in real-time when the educators have time to post.

As a parent, this app is very user-friendly. However, I'm not sure that's entirely the case on the educator/administrator side. It would also be nice if the organization was able to customize the look of the app to its colours and logo.

Great tool for daycares to communicate with parents abs provide regular updates. We appreciate being able to see photos during the day and having all communication in one place.

When we switched daycares it was challenging the manage the two profiles and set up the kids teams again so family members could also see their photos.

The versatility of the HiMama tools and how it helped us with record keeping and connecting with the parents, staff and children with their progress and developmental needs. It has helped tremendously on lessen administration time with invoicing, attendance record, and staff time records. It also have features such as the meal calendar, event calendar and programming chart allowing more connection with the parents and staff.

We wish there was like a parents chat group that could be developed within the app. I know there is probably a video teaching parents how to use the app but I would say a high percentage of parents do not realize the capability/features of the app. For example, we had a parent who thought if she commented on a picture it was going to mass produce to everyone in the daycare. I guess there should be more incentive in learning about the features of the app.
