Nachteile

NoMad wird nicht mehr weiter entwickelt und verursacht dadurch Probleme. Integration von App Store Apps auf dem Mac nicht ganz rund. Gibt öfters Probleme mit dem Volume License Programm und Updates.

Vorteile

Jamf bietet neben Apples MDM Framework, die Jamf Binary und damit die Möglichkeit Scripte zu verwenden.

Nachteile

Aktuell ist Jamf Cloud aus AWS, Alternativen z. B. Azure wären wünschenswert.

The overall ease of use makes JAMF really pleasant to work with. We can deploy configurations and compliance policies very easily and this ensures our Apple devices are always secure and compliant.

Nachteile

At this point we do not think there is anything JAMF can improve on, they do already have so many great features.

When we were evaluating management tools for our environment, we quickly came to the conclusion that there was not a one size fits all solution. Once we realized that, every other institution we contacted asked if we had looked at Jamf yet. Once we started looking at the product, the ease of use, the feature set, and the features that allowed us to customize the end user experience, we knew that this was the only product we could use. Jamf customer support has been great from the initial install, transition to cloud, upgrades and general support questions.

Nachteile

Local server upgrades. During the time we had our own on site server, we performed upgrade. Most of the time they went OK, but it was a complicated process with many pitfalls, and seemed, on some occasions, to require a fair amount of pure wizardry. This is was generated most of my support calls with Jamf.

Vorteile

I like how it allows us to view which machines are in need of updates, what updates crashed, as well as the ability to manage machine inventory. All these features and a clean interface make it easy to navigate.

Nachteile

Although this may be centralized to a few issues, at times the synchronization seems to be delayed compared to ServiceNow.

Vorteile

It make management of macOS, iOS, and iPadOS easy and seamless. JAMF always has day 1 support of releases and adds features as needed.

Nachteile

The new UI was made to make things better on mobile devices, which is was, but it made it a little more confusing on the compute browsers. Icons and text are always preferred over only icons.

Flexibility, extent of system management capabilities, technical support, ability to create "sites" for de-centralized IT teams that allow them to administer their own devices. Really, the list of what it can do goes on and on.

We run SCCM for management of our Windows devices. JAMF allows us to reach management parity for macOS/iOS devices.

Nachteile

Some high level computer management functions (packages, scripts, printers, etc) are centralized and cannot not wholly distributed/de-centralized to departmental IT teams (eg. each IT team will see and potentially be able to change these items).

Not an issue with the software itself, but a challenge and consideration we had to take into account when implementing in our unique support environment.

First off I when I started down the Merry road of Jamf I had no experience at all with MDMs.I had to move from another MDM mainly for ipads and the boss said it's your baby now. Well from the jumpstart to a 3 month implantation I am blown away on the easy it was to set up,that was three years ago now we manage everything Mac/iOS with Jamf.

If I had one thing I would like it would be a little better reporting on the iOS side.

LE patch management pourrais être amélioré. surtout que JAMF a intégré la notion d'app management a la sauce VPP pour les applications tiers, mais a choisi de ne pas s'appuyer sur son patch management actuel.

Software packages are very easy to create and deploy. The user portal makes end user support fast and easy. From a tech support stand point, we have been able to better manage and control the content and connections on our hardware.

Nachteile

For small companies this could be a little overwhelming from a cost stand point. Many of the features would be lost for them.

I like that it can be customized to fit the needs of our organization with minimal effort. It's really changed the way our company supports Macs. We constantly hear about the PC teams trying to catch up or find similar ways to implement ideas the way we do.

Can't mention the immediate support that JAMF provides when we need it. They are always on top of it when we email or call. It's amazing that they find the time to be able to answer questions or provide support so quickly.

Ease of use. Customer service (dedicated staff person). The classes and certifications offered around the globe. Jamf Nation community. The JSS Dashboard (web based). Compared to other Mac enterprise tools and MDM services, Jamf Pro beats the competition by miles. I've tried many too.

Nachteile

Still computing... will let you know when something pops out. I love that this software is Apple only. The focus there is great. Bye Windows folks.

Love the easy to use and how it interacts with apple devices. Love the way you can use scripts, profiles and policy to make life easier. The database is clear and how you can customize it to make searching great. The support on the product is great and the community that it is build upon is amazing.

Nachteile

The only Con is having to customize DEP for example changing the email on contact is unavailable as of yet.

What I like most about JAMF Pro is how easy it is to search for managed devices and get any information needed from them.

Nachteile

What I like least about JAMF Pro is that it can be limiting in it's ability to re-enroll devices since you cannot do so once it is enrolled, per the new functionality with the latest version. This is not helpful, especially to Universities whom manage many devices.

I am able to manage every aspect of my Mac workstations with minimal effort. When I run into a need that is not baked in, scripting options allow for tremendous customization.

I honestly am hard pressed to think of anything I don't like about jamf Pro... I do wish some of their suite apps were web based rather than stand alone.

1. Not being able to remote connect to outbound Macs, that are not connected to VPN.
2. (Windows) Absence of ability to set my own lockout time, for the login to the site. I want to be able to say, to lock the access after 30min or 1h, etc, requiring to re-login to the site.
3. (Windows) some browsing settings reset after reload of the page or relog in. If I set to view 100 data items, I don't want it to reset to 25, after I go elsewhere on the site, or if I get logged off and need to login again.

I love that Jamf Pro supports all of the Apple MDM features day 1 for all new releases.
Jamf's training is top notch.
It is easy to use.

Jamf needs to fully automate patching as promised a few years ago.
I would love it if the JDS issues were resolved so I could actually use it.

It's easy to understand the workflow. Easy to understand interface. Support is there when needed. Updates come on time. Easy to update and again if you needed support it's available and the reply quickly.

Need more computer "remote commands," with MacOs moving more and more towards the iOS abilities it would be nice to add more.

JAMF kinda has it all. It takes Apple Configurator and boils it down to accurately monitor and manage all your mobile devices, as well as macbooks/imacs. I don't really have any complaints.

It isn't free! And there is alittle bit of a learning curve.
