Good management tool

Good management plan, easy to convert to other platforms.

Alternative to MS Project

I found this software a very good alternative to MS Project, cost is very fair. I didn't see any compatibility issues and works great. About file format compatibility, other than its native file format you can export your data in a xml file or Excel. I recommend the usage very much.

Ease of Use - Missing Function MULTI

Dear Sirs,

I have thoroughly tested your product and found it very intuitive, however especially for a Multiproject plan it is necessary that one and the same ressource (Person) can have different pricing ( e.g. internal/external project/special price project) but is only limited with time per day. I think it would be better to allow a cost change within the project and to eliminate it at the ressource or make the cost more flexible with more prices to choose.

I can't belieave how super easy it is to plan out complex projects with this powerful software! I use it for all my projects!

Great Alternative to Microsoft Project

This app is everything you need for mpp files. Great value and easy to use. Also easy to print PDFs.

Excellent

The Rational Plan software is easy to use with a little trial and some questions to support staff. My experience with the RT Support Staff is 1000% based on 100% being perfect.

I have a very old Mac that lost its hard drive. When I tried to download RT to the new hard drive it would not load the latest version due to the age of my OS. They went out of their way at no additional expense to me to find a solution that would work on my computer and downloaded it to me --- and they did a special for me to download the latest version.

Easy to use with Great Support

I switched to RationalPlan - Multi for my consulting business about four years ago, after using MS Project since about 1998.
I have been very happy with RPM and find it easier to use than MSP for the work I do.
What really stands out for me, though, is the support provided for RPM. There are regular updates, and the twice I have had to contact support my question or issue was resolved promptly.
What I would like to see improved is the printing output, although there are improvements being made in this area, and I look forward to the new releases.

Better than MS Project

I'm a Mac user and I needed software to create a Gantt Chart for a project. There is no MS Project for Macs, so I tried Rational Plan. I am very pleased with RP's ease of use. and interface. It took ten minutes to learn to use it.

Good MS Project Alrernative

As a small company, we are always looking for the best value and not necessarily the best known brand. We have been using Rational Plan for about four year, and have been thoroughly satisfied. Having been a MS Project user, I found Rational Plan very familiar with most of the commands located right where I expected them to be. The project import/export was also valuable in allowing us to share schedules with our customers who were MS Prohect users. Customer service was great, all for a fraction of the cost of MS Project.

Excellent for medium size project

Rationalplan I found very useful to track medium sized projects, e.g. when you set up a new production plant and plan for the scheduling of validations and training of people. Easy to align with other project managers and teams e.g. to transfer products from development into production. Interchangeable with other project software you find in different companies. Easy to track different speeds of teamwork. Great software and excellent value for money!

Quite good in general. To be improved: Resource Management and Estimation methods like MS...

In general it works pretty well.
It would be much better for me if the resource management / leverage would be easier and more graphical and able to be balanced between several projects. For instance, being much simplier, GanttProject has much better landscape view: http://ganttproject.biz/about
For Compatibility with MS project I would really like to have the same estimation variables: work, resource units and duration and with same default approach.

Good simple project planner

I picked this up to generate simple programmes for construction projects, and was pleasantly surprised to find it easy to use, and also capable of much more complex task, resource and project management. It has a straightforward interface, and is reasonably intuitive, offering layers of complexity without requiring their complete use. It's one of those packages where the more you use it, the more useful it becomes.

Rational Plan

I like rational plan. The price is very good compared to some of the other project management software options. Be aware that there is a lot of manual entry that needs to be done in order for it to work for you, but once that is complete it works great.

I use it to setup a first plan for my projects. So I don't use its full potential, but it has all it takes for me.

RationalPlan Project Planning

I have been using MS Project in the office PC for many years now and have been looking for a similar app to use on my mac at home.

RationalPlan is just the perfect app I'm looking for - simple intuitive interface with a decent presentation style and at an amazingly affordable price!

I must add that the support team has been ultra responsive when help is needed.

Rational Plan is a powerful tool for project management, with many features like Gantt Chart, resources allocation, priorities e risks. Complete!

RationalPlan

We use this product to create schedules and timelines for our projects. I've found it helpful as a central location for project info such as scope and budget. We use this to also create gaunt charts and timelines. It is very helpful to get the whole team on the same page, also if the time line shifts it shows where corresponding items will have to shift to.

Simple and highly accurate schedule creation application

It is a very powerful tool for individual to medium sized schedule management and WBS management.
A wonderful point can be modified very smoothly and can be done very smoothly.
Printing is also beautiful and it is excellent as handout materials.
It is the point that it is easier and easier to read materials than anything else.

A nice alternative at Microsoft Project

The only thing about this software is the price. For the rest is a optimal solution for project management.

Good project manager

I am not sure project managers as I have seen them is what I am actually looking for . However, of all I have looked at I do like Rational Plan. It has a lot of features well laid out, nice facebook page and decent online manual.

RationalPlan is a very convenient alternative to the more well-known project planning software.

RationalPlan is so intuitive that I have never had need for customer support since purchase. More effort needs to be put into advertising this software so that more people become aware that they have an alternative to the more well-known software packages which may be too expensive for an individual user. Functionallity is superb.

inexpensive alternative

the software provides the features we really need. competitors may offer more, but to us this is not from practical relevance. data exchange with competitors can be difficult, the support helps quickly and competently. very good value for money.

My feelings on RatioalPlan

I moved from Microsoft MS Project to Rational Plan because I migrated to MacBook Pro and it was easy to install under OS. I found the Rational Plan very similar to MS Project and very friendly to sue.

Easy to use. Accesses most resources we were looking for. Would recommend to other business people seeking similar resources. Wish more research software companies would use similar process. Seems like it is up to date.

Opinion on RationalPlan Multi

It is a good software. It is user friendly and easy to use. It contains the necessary information for project management. I use it instead of MS Project when it is necessary to follow several small projects.

Best project management software

For it have what I require. There was sime problem with Hi resulition screen. But the support was really good. Also when I had some ither questions they answered quick. Even at hilidays and evenings.

Great tool for short money

This tool is very close to MS Project, but at a fraction of the price. It is project management focused and user friendly.

An excellent solution for a Mac User in a PC world

I have used this Project software on a number of projects where MS PCs were the dominant platform. As I am a Mac User in a business world, RationalPlan bridges the gap for me easily.

Rationalplan Multiproject

Rationalplan Multiproject works as expected on my Mac. I tried open source tools like openProject before, but they somehow don't work on all files. Rationalplan does.

It was easy to use and provided the best results. Professor did help but everything seemed easy after this software was started to used in the class.

Better than the high priced planning software

I have used high priced planning software for years. Rational Plan is much more economical and does everything simply and easily.
