helpful features of MY MUSIC STAFF
it’s been a tremendous help with keeping appointments, billing, invoicing, and sending mass emails
Vorteile
most impactful is the website submissions of new students and the immediate info transfer into the system to start billing/invoicing as soon as the student status is switched to active;
Nachteile
there was a learning curve when i first had to learn it, but thankfully my husband learned it quicker than I and was a patient teacher - he helped me tremendously! I was the main user of it after about a month.

It's all handled
I love My Music Staff and would never go back to "old school" this is the way to do your business for sure!
Vorteile
All of the needs of my studio are in one place and instead of paper everywhere, everything is at my fingertips on my laptop, ipad or phone. I can take all of my info wherever I go. Students, parents and myself can access and communicate through the app and it is all I need.
Nachteile
It has taken me a little bit to navigate the program but the videos, help site and staff have been great to help me and answer any questions that I have.

Fabulous customer service.
I have used MMS for years and I don’t think I can run my private studio without it. Despite being just me it makes my diary super easy to manage. I particularly like the ability for students to arrange and rearrange their own lessons and the reminder emails. Takes lots of pressure off me.
Vorteile
Very quick assistance from customer service and they are super polite even when the issue I was raising was completely user error.
Nachteile
I don’t like the fact that I can’t sort my invoices by amount owed on my phone like I can on iPad/computer.

Nice affordable option
It's pretty good! Would love it to be a little faster, with a few more features, but overall it does what I need it to do.

Great way to keep track of everything in one place. Invoicing, calendar and website all sync together and add a pro-quality to your business.
Nachteile
The website is a little slow to use and you can't do certain things, like record a payment for multiple students at once, for example. The website builder is also a little dated- I would love some more features here in order to build a better looking site, as well as some options for widgets.

Great product for private piano studios
My Music Staff is imperative to my business and I’m thankful to have it

I have tried other programs similar to my Music Staff. I have found this to be the most user-friendly. But when I can’t figure out how to do some thing, customer service is quick to respond and help me to resolve my problems.

There have been a few glitches with the upgrade, but overall, I think My Music Staff has handled things well

A Fantastic Help
I wouldn't want to be teaching without using MMS
Vorteile
All teachers can be on the same page with schedules & student information. Creating the invoices & sending reminders ups my business to more professional.
Nachteile
I haven't found the place where I can keep a running note for the day. It's clumsy to keep going back into attendance for each student. I don't want to be navigating on my laptop but want to be able to access the next kid who's come for lessons more easily.

Very positive! It is easy to use, clear for students and a great way to ensure my business is running efficiently.

I have been using My Music Staff since 2018 and I love how it just automates my whole teaching business. Everything is organized, clear and professional. Can't do without it now!
Nachteile
Sometimes I think of niche situations whereby the calendar/scheduling system could be tweaked a little bit, but I usually find a workaround pretty quickly.

It just does it all everything from attendance, personal music information according to each student, bookeeping,online resources and the support team if any issues arise

I did not use the new attendance feature as you have to go back to the previous page to see whom that student is. I and several of my other teachers like the older version for attendance.

My Music Staff - from a not very tech savvy oldies
We are much more organized with tracking attendance and invoicing.
Vorteile
My Music Staff has been a great tool to keep my admin organized and my music studio running smoothly. It is easy to use even for a not very tech savvy oldie who would much prefer to teach than do admin. I can see with the click off a button what admin I've done and what I haven't. It produces visually pleasing invoices and sends them out without much effort.
Nachteile
The thing that would make the biggest difference for us is if we could save each individual teachers invoice colour scheme, headers and footers, as we send out from each teacher not the studio. Second to that if the student charge was linked to the duration of the lesson not each individual student (or to choose one or the other).

Invoicing and lesson scheduling - it's all connected! When you schedule a lesson for a student, it automatically includes it in the invoice for you!
Nachteile
Not being able to integrate with Xero. I need to manually journal figures into my accounting software which is time consuming and not very fun! But the other great features in MMS does make up for it.

Peace of mind
As my studio has grown I’ve just really appreciated how much time I’ve saved by having everything all in one place. I really haven’t had any problems using any of the features I’ve chosen to use.

Lesson notes are a bit of scrolling around to make sure you have everything. I would like it if it were on a difference page than the attendance page.

The Solution
We now have a reliable, accurate schedule for our music lessons and a clearer look at how our business is doing.

For a long time we were looking for a quality solution for scheduling lessons for our music school and we were ecstatic to find My Music Staff. And now that i iintegrates with our POS we are set!
Nachteile
Occasional glitches, but the team does get on those quickly. Sometimes connecting a customer file to our POS fails a few times, so a more seemless customer file connection would be preferred.

Excellent Service for Music Schools
Overall, we love it and will continue to use it. It saves us a lot of time in collecting payments and tracking schedules.

Nachteile
The mobile version glitches a lot and is hard to view. There are settings that I can’t control like the invoice display, which shows the time of a set lesson, but doesn’t account for different time zones and you can’t edit that function. Every month I get emails asking why the invoice is incorrect. The automated system doesn’t allow for much editing.

MyMysicStaff does everything for me. Handles all my accounts, calendar, scheduling, registrations, database of everything and I can even keep track of my mileage

Makes freelance teaching a breeze

As a vocal teacher, the biggest time sink I ran into was being the middle man between my students and my calendar when it comes to scheduling. Giving my students access to the student portal to schedule themselves has freed up 3-5 hours a week! It's great to have all of my studio policies on the invoices so there are never any questions about cancellation and late fees. And, during tax time, it's super easy to print off my earnings and expenses for the year so filing is a breeze. MyMusicStaff is 100% necessary for my business!

It has been a game changer.
Vorteile
Everything. In all seriousness it puts my entire studio business at my fingertips. No more keeping up with actual paper. I love that financial records are in one place, lesson notes, online resources, scheduling, text and e-mail reminders. It saves time and money. Every feature is well thought out, intuitive, and easy to use. I cannot say enough about the support staff: quick, definitive answers to all of my questions and wonderful tutorials available.

It’s like having a virtual assistant who knows her stuff!
Wonderful! I wouldn’t use anything else.
Vorteile
I love how it is easy to take notes for my students, easing the use of books and saving trees. Attendance marking is valuable to manage billing disputes. Auto pay and invoices takes the business out of it so I can remain personal with my families and so much more!
Nachteile
There are just so many features that I feel a webinar by them every now and then would be a good idea. The search function in ‘help’ is not great for keywords. I also dislike the the event time window always closes rather then remaining open until I close it or click out.

Life saver!
Vorteile
My favorite features about MMS that have saved me so much time and energy are auto-invoicing, auto-pay, and Stripe Integration. I don't have to worry about my billing processes anymore, and it is so relieving! My student's and their parents are also a huge fan of how easy it is.

They are in the process of doing a massive update, and there have been some kinks to work through. But I don't have any major complaints about this - I like the changes they are making!

Our overall experience has been very positive. The support receive is fabulous, and the program runs fast!

I wish that My Music Staff could be integrated with Quickbooks. Also, the cost to add new staff members is extremely high. Very good software for music school management
It is the best out there unless who want to pay tens of thousands for personalised Salesforce set up.

There are some very great features in My Music Staff such as the ease of payment from the client. I also like the calendar layout and functionality.
Nachteile
Having to jump from one category to the other and back can take along time over the web. It would be easier if all of a clients information including payments, bookings, contact history, etc where all available on one screen. Also, monitoring non-payers can be a bit of a headache and be time consuming.

The functionality of the software is critical to my studio. I have not seen any other studio management system that can compare to its functionality, design, or intuitiveness. I really love that I no longer have to chase down clients for money. My students parents simply pay online. Best move I ever made in my studio was signing up for My Music Staff!

I love the calendar and attendance tracking and I use the online resources to upload recordings for my students to practice with. Everything. I would not have survived the pandemic and been able to stay in my profession without this program. Automatic invoicing and payments, self serve scheduling, student lesson note records. These features make me look professional to my students, save me a lot of time, and make me a better teacher.

The perfect app for managing your music studio
In general, I'm very satisfied. It is my essential tool to organize all my lessons.

It is very easy to use and you can adapt it to any kind of needs. During my years teaching music, I changed my billing system several times and I could always adapt the app to every situation.

The repertoire section. I always think it would be great if it's linked to online resources. So when assigning a new piece the students can download the music score there.

Invaluable as a sole trader, just allows me to keep track of everything in one place.

The only thing I’d like is for a link somehow to send parents info via WhatsApp, because a lot of people seem to prefer that as emails can get lost in spam. But I don’t know if that would only be a short term fix until the next thing comes along??

I love that My Music Staff keeps my studio highly organized. I love that every teacher knows their schedule and is able to access any updates, parent information and their payroll information. I also like that parents can access their account and utilize the features. It makes the studio run much smoother!

Easy enough to set up and use. The customer help is responsive and helpful. Great for scheduling and running online lessons and passing tracks . . . online to families.

A timesaver
Help is great. When you need it they are there for you.

The time it saves me is incredible, especially for the lesson payments.
Nachteile
The switch to the French version was done automatically and maybe too fast without telling us. Since a lot of terms didn't make sense in French ( the translation was not always great) it was very confusing trying to remember what it used to be in English to be able to understand it.

MyMusicStaff has our whole music school on its back!
It has made efficiency within managing little parts that can take hours so much better.
Vorteile
The calendar, how easy it is to manage and add new students, the new automatic payment system with stripe is amazing and has helped so much. Multi-messaging is brilliant too. It saves us so much stress and time.
Nachteile
I do wish there was an app, making it easier for customers to access the student portal, as I have a fair few that find it confusing, but that is all.

Great product for private teachers
Vorteile
Love that I can track attendance, whip out reports for taxes quickly, let students reschedule on their own, and easily type lesson notes during the lesson.
Nachteile
Once in a while I have to figure out how to bill correctly with auto pay, if there is something unusual.

My Music Staff is a helpful tool for music teachers
Vorteile
I like that My Music Staff is able to integrate invoicing and payment information, lesson notes, and attendance seamlessly. My students use it to check their lesson notes and I use it for attendance and billing.
Nachteile
Some things are not completely intuitive in the program. For instance, it would be nice if My Music Staff was a little easier to use when a student has stopped lessons and you want to remove them from the system.
