Meet my expectation.
Vorteile
Currently meeting our needs for our tax service but we are exploring adding other regions. I have nothing further to add other then my first statement.
Nachteile
This does not happen often but sometime trying to find the answer without having to contact Customer Support. I have nothing further to add other then my first statement.

We have used Vertex for over a decade. Very solid product and great support - in the unlikely...
Big gains in the efficiency of managing sales tax - from the calculation on the order to the filing of returns. We were able to reduce the time required from technical team in supporting since most admin can be handles by the functional group.

The application administration is built for the functional users - very little support required from a technical standpoint.

Vertex Review
We use Vertex for sales, use and returns processing. All three have performed very well.
Vorteile
Vertex performs well and is reliable for most of the transactions we use.
Nachteile
Customer support can be slow and solutions are not always satisfactory. Wish there was better interaction design for manufacturing purchases.

Customer Support
Not much experience so far. It is very much like the Q series so I am happy about that.
Vorteile
When I have a problem and have to call Vertex whoever I get on the phone will get me an answer to my question. If they don't know the answer they will find out before they close the ticket.
Nachteile
I used Q series before this. So far I have not used the O series enough to have any issues.

Support has been great, no issues with functionality of the software

Vorteile
Ease of use, functionality, ability to create reports. Ease of updating every month with the file that is sent out by Vertex.
Nachteile
No real issues, we have been running Vertex for many years without too many issues, all in all we have been happy with it.

Vertex has been great to work with, especially the customer support group.
I know that the tax calculations that are being made are accurate and the customizations for our company have been minimal. There customizations are based on specific tax audits/decisions that are specific to our products and how we do business.
Vorteile
The software is fairly easy to work. Most importantly, customer support is there to help you out. They understand that not every business is run the same and they take the time to work with you so you can accomplish the desired results when you have exceptions. They also respond very timely when issues are raised.
Nachteile
Is the software perfect in every aspect, no. But is any service exactly what you need out of the box. I can not say enough about how attentive the support group is to help you understand the software and assist you when an issue does arise.

Needs some more development
Handles all our states :) I no longer have to try and interpret the various states laws.

Vorteile
Ability to add Tax Accelerator. Easy transition from 6.0 to 8.0 for users.
Nachteile
To open the software and find customers or mapping it seems to take forever. This has been noticed by multiple users.

Vertex Rocks
Overall, it has been easy to use, and quick to learn!
Vorteile
The software makes it easy to track exemption certificates, and ensure the rates are being applied correctly. I also like the ability to map the taxability of our products
Nachteile
In some states, bundled items are taxed based on the contents of the bundle. For example, 2 items combined, one is taxable, the other is not. But when you bundle, only the taxable item should be taxed. There is no option for bundling the items, and appropriately applying the tax

Vertex O Series new version
Overall, it is better than the previous version and hopefully the customer support will be able to help incase something crash.
Vorteile
interfaces, color and new style. very modern.
Nachteile
font and maybe it would be better if you have some sort of guide for new users on how to navigate it.

Vertex O v8 better than STQ v4
Vorteile
Installation and configuration is easy to deploy. Good user experience.
Nachteile
Integration with SAP ECC is a bit complicated and not straightforward. GUI interface for Vertex Central should be redesigned for simpler navigation access maybe like SAP FIORI?

Vertex O series is a great product with a lot of capabilities.
Rules and Taxability
Vorteile
I like the categories, taxability, rules, and transaction tester tool. I don't have to maintain it much. It is plus.
Nachteile
Sometimes, changes made in a new version offer good improvement, but at the same time, some nice features or functions in the old version go away and it leaves me the feelings that something is still missing from the software.

The software is clunky
Vorteile
It's comprehensive and accurate in its calculation of sales taxes. It can also handle the large volume of transactions on our e-commerce site.
Nachteile
It's got an outdated user interface and it's fairly expensive. The implementation was fairly laborious.

Vertex O Series Review
Overall, I have had a very good experience using Vertex O Series as a tool and would definitely recommend it to my colleagues.
Vorteile
User interface is very intuitive and the documentation helps beginners to get acquainted with the tool quickly.
Updates tax rules when there are changes in a state.
Allows custom work arounds.
Nachteile
Support ticket creation process can be improved or simplified.
So far haven't found any other major drawback.

Once configured, software is stable and easy to maintain.
Vorteile
Tax errors are greatly reduced. Monthly updates are timely and easy to apply.
Nachteile
Dealing with Vertex Support. Sometimes it can take forever to get a response. Support team has two separate groups, one for O series itself and one for the 'connector'. Connector team also acts as Consultants, so it seems consulting gigs get priority over support needs.

Vertex was implemented over the course of the last few months, with the scope being US-centric.
Vertex Cloud granted the ability to automate the tax function with a graphic user interface that is both comprehensive and easy to learn.
Vorteile
Vertex Cloud has a very easy to use and comprehensive user interface, a robust product mapping capability, and the ability to user test within the interface.
Nachteile
Currently, Vertex Cloud doesn't have the ability for the user to configure rules on the front end; this in effect forces users to have to work with Vertex on the back end in order to configure rules if necessary.

Very user friendly. Nice to have a software that can tax in different states as every state tax rate is different.

How long it takes to generate a simple transaction report for a state sometimes
I would not trust Vertex submitting an actual tax return. The numbers never match up from what generated report says to what the numbers on the state sales tax return.

A short learning curve, but once we've mastered the system, it's been a major time saver for...
Major time saver for our organization and not having to put in a major effort with our resources internally to determine tax rates in jurisdictions that we do business in ourselves.
Vorteile
Ability to store exempt certificates electronically in their system without needing paper copies trail and filing in our organization.
Nachteile
Does not work well with Firefox which is a browser our organization uses often, will often get glitchy or stop working entirely.

Excellent Sales Tax software
With all the laws changing with ecommerce, we realized we had to begin collecting sales tax in many states. Vertex has made this task much easier ... instead of hiring employees to continually calculate and analyze tax data for state reporting we rely on Vertex to help us calculate what we need.
Vorteile
We collect sales tax from 34 different states and would have to hire a team of employees to do what Vertex does for us.
Nachteile
The software is a little difficult to understand at first, but with each issue I learn more about the capabilities and how to handle situations within the software.

Nachteile
I wish the website was built more like pivot table formats. The filters are more of a scrolling list instead of a grab and drop function.

We use this software to update sales tax information in our back end system.
Easy to use, and obtain sales tax rate files.
Vorteile
The Vertex cloud makes it very easy to obtain the sales tax rate files that we require for billing out of our back end system.
Nachteile
The only thing that we don't like is being charged a minimum fee if we do not use the software in any given month.

Wonderful customer support for helping me to get through how to use this software.
Vorteile
Real time updated sales and use tax rate saves us a lot of time to search online. Criteria for helping decide if our product taxable in each state is really the best tool.
Nachteile
Not clear which part is not in the subscribing package and need to pay extra cost. There's no criteria for deciding if out-of -state business needs to pay sales and use tax or not.

It has been ok.
Other than some kinks we are trying to work out it is very nice to have the returns already generated.
Vorteile
The returns already generated versus filling in the information from a spreadsheet.
It is pretty simple to use.
Nachteile
All the little issues like sales versus use tax. It is generating two returns when we are only set up for use tax which creates filing issues with the states.
