We use this for parents to sign up for various events at school. It is useful to make sure that all jobs are covered or that all items are brought for an event.

This tool seems to be the tool of choice whenever someone is organizing an event where different team members are responsible for various items or in signing up volunteers to help out on-site for our live-conferences & events. Its easy to use and navigate. It captures all the right information.

SignUpGenius is fairly straight forward sign up website. I use it on a regular basis to create sign up pages for various classes that my company hosts. They have tons of themes and templates that you can use to customize your sign up page to fit your needs. It's comprehensive on set up as well as sign up for class attendees, the website doesn't ask for more information than name and email. They also do not require attendees to create an account to sign up which makes it easy for our company to use and keep track of class sign ups. The best part is that you can use the software for free so that's definitely a plus for me!

Nachteile

The interface isn't the easiest and most comprehensible to use on the set up side. The organization of older sign up pages is really messy and there doesn't seem to be an order to it. You would think that they'd be in order from newest to oldest, but it isn't. Plus, it doesn't seem to have an option to delete posts after so many years which would be nice. However, we use the free version of this software so considering that we aren't paying for this these are very small issues.

I use SignUpGenius for a number of activities as a teacher. I use it for assessment scheduling, party sign ups, field trip volunteers, conference scheduling, and a few other things. The best part about this software is that you can send a sign up out to parents/guardians via email, and they can sign up without bothering with any kind of official sign in or registering. They can even do it straight from their phone. I have found that by doing it this way, I get a lot more sign up activity. The actual sign up is easy to use. I have only had a few parents have trouble with it after using it for years.

Nachteile

The process of actually creating the sign up can be a bit confusing. There are many different tabs at the top that you have to navigate through. When using the software, I often have to go back and forth from the tabs to the "preview" button and see what the changes actually look like on the sign up form. The "preview" button is helpful and necessary to see what the final result will look like before sending it out. Ideally, the set up would be easier to navigate.

Vorteile

Unlike many group calendar/meeting apps, which involve everyone entering possible meetup times, this is for individuals to choose appointments or commit to work slots for events, etc. An administrator sets up the various tasks and puts in slots (it's possible to indicate how many people are needed for each time slot under each task). It autogenerates notifications for signups and sends reminders to each signee.

Nachteile

It was very tricky to figure out the easiest way to add time slots in bulk, and the difference between adding days and times and adding time slots.

I love how simple this is for an administrator but also the end user. I've never had anyone say they couldn't figure out how/what to do. I also appreciate that the users can alter their own sign ups for the items or people they are committing to an event. Plus being able to copy events or sign ups over from year to year makes the planning & implementation process quick.

Nachteile

I think that the ads and the limited themes are understandable but annoying. Also, there are some set up limitations that can make more complex events cumbersome to set up. Plus if you have to make changes once you go-live, it can be prohibitive.

Vorteile

One of the best features of SignUp Genius for churches and non-profits is it's price. Nothing beats it. It also is able to give you many slots to sign up with other people. It's perfect for getting big groups to sign up for certain slots.

Nachteile

It's not the smoothest software. It can be a little clunky and is not beautifully designed. With big groups, it's a little frustrating to scroll through many pages of signups to get to open slots. I wish there was a little more functionality with all of that. I wish there were more design options.

I have been using SignupGenius for years and it is an absolutely invaluable resource. We have used this tool for a variety of features with our staff - everything from schedule student employees for desk and duty shifts to having employees self-select a potluck dish for a staff holiday event. We also use it for student-facing events and services such as interviews and appointment based services.

Nachteile

It can take a little while to become familiar with the layout and format of the signup builder. The system gives you multiple ways to build your form, which can result in some inefficiencies or confusion until you really get to understand all the different features available to you.

My office uses SignUpGenius to coordinate in-office chiropractor sign ups. It's really easy to see which time slots are taken or available, and sign up accordingly.

I wish the mobile app was more user friendly. There was a big push in our office to download the mobile app to make signing up easier, but the interface was very difficult to navigate.

As a teacher, organizing meetings with parents is always difficult. There are phone calls, emails, and multiple missed communications. It can be very frustrating! With SignUpGenius I am able to send out a simple link that parents can immediately use to sign up from any sort of device. It keeps track of the RSVP's and keeps me in the loop.

Nachteile

It can be a little difficult at first to navigate and learn, but it isn't too hard. I found the most frustrating part was that as an admin, I was unable to edit and move around appointments. That seemed like it should have been automatic for me to be able to put people in time slots myself.

SignUpGenius is very basic, so it loads quickly and is easy to use, even for the tech-challenged.

I think that it could be more user-friendly for mobile devices, specifically phones.

When creating a sign-up we have found that some of the features are require you to pay for them. Not all features are included.

This software makes it super easy for teachers to connect with parents and gain sign ups for classroom projects, parent teacher conferences, etc. Super easy to use, and is a great help in keeping your sign ups organized!

There's a variety of templates to choose from, but I don't believe you can customize templates (at least using the free version) with your own graphics.

Vorteile

The thing I like best is the simple functionality of SignUp. We use it for our church youth group to organize volunteers and find times that work best for everyone. It is simple to pick which days you want to survey and times as well. You create a link that you can paste in an email and send out using your own listserv.

Nachteile

I am not sure if there is anything I don't like. It is an easy to use program with straightforward instructions. Not really sure what could be improved upon.

You can easily create meetings and have people sign up through email. You can also limit the number of people that can attend to prevent overflow.

It is a free software with premium plans available. It is a good product, but if you are using their free software, be prepared to receive lots of emails about upgrading your account.

There are many online forms out these, but SignUpGenius is unique in that it "fills" the created roles. This makes helpful for people to know in real time what is still open to sign up for. Setting up a SignUpGenius is easy and gives you a lot of control so you can make your page custom for your event/project.

Nachteile

This software is free, but anything free usually brings advertisements with it, so that would be my only complaint (although I get that they need to run ads to keep the software free).

If you are conducting a recurring workshop or seminar over the course of multiple days, SignUpGenius enables invitees to sign up for the day of their choosing. They can also see how many slots are available each day and even who is signed up on those days, in case they want to be sure to sit with a friend. It also gives them the option to put the appointment on their computer’s calendar, with a reminder being sent out as the appointment draws near.

Nachteile

The design of the site is a little antiquated, but this doesn’t affect its functionality.

I like the option to be able to choose multiple dates and times in one signup.

It sends the organizer an email when someone signs up for easy tracking. It also sends reminder emails before the event to all participants.

The images will change from time to time so if you try to duplicate a previous signup, you might have to peruse for a different image than you used last time.

I enjoyed the ease of use for setting up a sign up. It made signing up parents for parent conferences and soccer snacks much more simple. When a slot was filled, it disappears from the sign up. There is also the option to send an email reminder before the appointment.

I did not like the ads that were a part of the free version. It confused some of the people who signed up. If I bought the version, I know there would be no ads.
