We shoot thousands of photos every game. To have all the photos on one platform that is searchable has saved countless hours sorting through media.

Nachteile

The upload portal can be confusing. Drag and dropping of files can lead to double uploads or uploading into the wrong folder.

The ease of managing users and loading of files, along with how easy it is to manage the visibility of files to different users and portals

Previously we used to have to handle image requests manually and email customers hosted links to each and every image they needed. Canto has taken that load off our team and saved us so much time. We just have to make sure the library is updated and our customers choose the image they want, at the size they need it. Our workflow is much more efficient!

Nachteile

Permission management is a little complex but I am not the best person to speak on it as I am not the manager of our canto image library.

Adding portals eats into your storage allotment. Portals are a great way to divide up different users, but the way Canto decides what counts against your storage count is challenging.

Search features and tagging are great. User permissions are pretty great with lots of different settings.

Upload speeds are terrible for large files. Bulk upload feature barely works. User interface is not intuitive at all. You should make it more like Google Drive interface.

Like that you can save to your personal “likes”, and that you have the option to download to your personal laptop.

There is too much old stuff and too many people not updating to current versions, but I think that is an internal issue. Filing by year or archiving would be a good idea

Implementing Canto to the world of university academia was a breeze. The system is made with the end-user in mind so it is very accessible and easily understood. Whether it is uploading and filing research data or sorting out photo albums Canto guides you to making things work systematically.

Improvements would regard a small scale linguistic country which has letters that are difficult to pick up when the automatic text is gathered from a document.

Canto is so simple to use and the facial recognition is really slick! I also like the portals for outside contributors.

It is pretty expensive. However, we are not using all the features that come with it. I could see how the price is justified by all the other features that are available.

I find the interface at times difficult to seamlessly move from one folder to another, especially from moving from the home page to individual folders.

One of my favorite things, is how easy it is to create albums after events. My admin loads the photos pretty quickly, and I can share albums with corporate partners documenting their sponsorships, and have that documentation to them within the same week. This documentation is so critical to sustaining my sponsors, and for it all to be in one place and easy to distribute, makes my job so much easier.

Nachteile

For what I use it for, I don't really have anything negative to say. Load time is a bit slow at times, I suppose, but that seems like an issue more on my end depending if I'm on wifi or not.

Central, easy-to-use, media repository. All media can be loaded and the entire team can collaborate and make decisions and comments on marketing material.

Interface is slow. Searching through a large amount of images is tedious.

I like that it is a self-service database where associates can access approved, current assets without having to ask staff to spend time finding or recreating assets. You know the content is approved and ready to use. The Canto drag and drop feature makes adding assets to files super easy. Another great feature is being able to bundle assets into one link to share with clients.

A built-in connector to SalesForce would be nice.

Before, our photos were saved in various folders throughout a server network. I would often have a photo in mind that I've seen before but not be sure where to find it. Or else I'd have a need for a certain type of photo but have trouble finding one that fit that need.

This really simplifies that process.

Nachteile

The facial recognition is a great feature, but you do have to pay attention to it. If a weird, blurry image gets tagged as a certain person, that error could replicate throughout future uploads.

Vorteile

Ease of use, simple design and layout, great customer service from the Canto team. Always willing to consider updates that solve our questions and concerns.

Occasional problems with custom fonts and image rendering. Most of our issues are related to unexpected software functions but most are easily resolved once we're familiar with how it works.

The simplicity of the design makes it feel incredibly streamlined. Being able to connect to other Cloud-based storage is very helpful. As a milennial, I find it incredibly user-friendly & intuitive (though my older coworkers still have trouble).

Nachteile

The search functionality is limiting & easily the hardest process to teach/explain to less savvy coworkers. I would love to see an 'advanced search' feature to search within specific folders, with combined terms, etc. without those different terms being confused in the search.

Seems to slow down the browser the longer you search images. So I end up having to relaunch the browser, restart the search, and start scrolling all the way from the top to access the group of images I had made it to before the relaunch. Tagging photos hasn't been very intuitive. I'll tag a group after uploading, only to have them not show up in searches.

If it can be made easy to use for less skillful computer users. Slow and challenging when internet speed drops. Tends to be less effective when used alongside other MS Teams or Zoom.

The extra click to download/the time it takes to load the full image can be really annoying, but it's definitely not a deal breaker.
The design is a little clunky, but it definitely gets the job done.
