Appsheet is quick to deploy, powerfully-featured, and reasonably-priced for our needs. We've been able to rapidly build and iterate our data collection and management practices. Because we rely on volunteers and short-term interns, it's important that the software be easy to use and maintain, and we've found that the ramp up period is short.

Because we work with apps in both English and Arabic, it's important that we be able to switch between the languages, or even use both in certain fields. The support for left-to-right and right-to-left languages could be improved. We understand this is a pretty narrow use case, but it would allow greater adoption in the refugee space.

For non-techies, with some basic understanding of application software and their usecases and essential database awareness, Appsheet lets you offer practical solutions very quickly and cost-effectively. I have not seen any other platform that makes it so dumbed down.

There are limitations that are quite possible for a platform that is still evolving. But, nothing so much that will force you to look for alternatives.

I had the opportunity to participate in a tourism project with a partner dedicated to the systems area and the experience with this complement was very good. I think he made the job easier for us during the development of the mobile app.

Even for non-programmers, it can be easy to use. It is based on "Excel" spreadsheets and the data structure is quite simple.

Some of the things that caught our attention are related to its functionalities: It allows you to establish small workflows, it supports GPS, maps. There is the possibility of activating notifications and as if that were not enough, you can access it without a connection.

Another interesting aspect, which also goes hand in hand with the Digital Transformation process, is storage. You can use any Cloud provider. Which gives it a very high value, at least from my point of view.

Nachteile

Personally I see no negative points, I think it is a tool that gives opportunity to professionals who are not from technical areas to learn and create or work on very interesting projects.

Samples apps are very simple to learn each functionality.

UX: Web view; It would be great if the look of Web browser view is improved.

It would be much easier faster for new creators to Learn if there are some sample apps that run in full functionalities and integrate with "In-App-Tutorial".

Less focus on developing financial apps although there are some mini budgeting app.

The ease of use. No coding required. You can gradually build your app and learn while doing this. I found there was a gradual learning curve that met my needs and my capability.

Nachteile

Sometimes, it takes a long to synchronize. The way to correct mistakes that you make is not always obvious and you will need help. But on the other hand, the community is large enough and very helpful, so you will never have these problems for a longer period.

Does not have option to share leads with individual app users. Not very easy to create, help videos were old.

Its the ease of building an app from a Google Sheet and then having the freedom to shape it up with a full-fledged admin panel. And the beauty is that I haven't had to use the admin panel for months together: the app has been going on and on, without any interruption! I have no piece of hardware or software to worry about or monitor on a daily basis

We can work simultaneously in one screen , small window of Skype open to communicate and other windows open to read or collect information.
Can do instant messaging or video calls at cheaper rate than phone calls. It's user friendly and easy to access

Lo bueno es que con solo tener una pequeña base de datos, en tu nube personal, DRIVE, ONDRIVE, DROPBOX, y otros, con esto ya puedes empezar. Muy facil de comenzar con la aplicacion, personalmente instalé una extensión desde google drive y con unos pocos clics la base de datos se convierte en varias vistas tipo app web.También puedes empezar desde cero, con una plantilla en blanco. La otra opción que te ayuda mucho avanzar y conocer el sistema es el uso de plantillas pre diseñadas, que te ayudan a entender mejor.Tiene apartados en donde puedes configurar los botones que vez en la pantalla para ir de una vista a otra, además de personalizar cada vista.Util para seguimiento de inventarios y planillas de precios, que es lo mas fácil de desarrollar.La plataforma permite una vez conectada con la base de datos de tu preferencia, como mencioné anteriormente, puedes actualizar y agregar datos de una manera sencilla.La version gratuita te permite hacer mucho, con limitaciones que no molestan.

Nachteile

La contra que le encuentro, es a primera, que todo está en inglés, si bien puedes usar algún traductor, no es lo mismo que tenga traducciones en otros idiomas.

The possibilities with AppSheet are endless. I built an app that shows a listing of odd inventory for our lumber company. While the system does require some knowledge of formulas, conditional formatting and database structure, most of that can be learned through their tutorials.

Nachteile

Activating the app on user's phones can be somewhat annoying. Unless you go to the higher paid tier, you can only use Google accounts to access the app.

For what is a very complex and powerful product the user interface is intuitive. I'm on a learning curve and regularly break my apps during the development stage, but the UI always tells me why and how to fix it.
We use Smartsheets for business collaboration but it has real limitations when sharing information between multiple teams, and in the area of workflows. Appsheet does add a layer of complexity but enables us to solve these issues.
The mapping functionality is also great and adding images makes for visually appealing apps.

Nachteile

Not knowing everything about it yet. There is no code to learn as such but a lot of functionality. Once you learn how expressions work you can exert a lot of control over the user experience, and control data entry, and am only just starting to do this.

It's very easy to create an app with some simple data. You can add many fields and it's much easier to create this type of app than to learn code and become an app developer. It's pretty user friendly and has a lot of simply easy to use features. You can add maps, phone numbers, forms, price lists, or slideshows. It's a great way to organize work for a team and everyone can easily see it. Very customizable.

Nachteile

If you use the free version, there is a very long loading time required. If you use the paid version, it might be worth your time to look into software that is customized to your business needs already. You may find something for slightly more that will work well. You will be using Google Sheets for all your data and information. If you are uncomfortable with a spreadsheet, this may not be the best for you.

AppSheet performs well and is reasonably quick for our users. I love that we can make the app public so users don't have to sign in. We're using it embedded in a SharePoint site, so the only users who see it are already authenticated.
The app builder starts you out with some reasonably good suggestions for your data, and there are a lots of options for display. In general, the Google Material Design UI is pleasant.

Nachteile

Some column types aren't useful in certain situations. The worst part of AppSheet in our experience, however, has been the need to recreate custom formatting for each column in a table. Since this table has hundreds of columns, we really wish we could copy and past or duplicate styling.

Ease of creating a functional application using Google sheets as the back end database. I like that they have template applications that you can import and then customize which saves you time. Apps look great on mobile phone. Wide variety of applications and uses.

Nachteile

It gets quite pricey when you add more users to your app than just yourself. I'd use it a lot more if they expanded the amount of unique visitors to the app.

I was up and running in no time! I was looking for a way to track equipment by scanning barcodes on my phone, and AppSheet was super quick to set up!

After the initial set up, converting the massive amounts of example data to a usable format for my project would have taken more time than it was worth for the scale of my project. For a small but long-term project or small business, it could very well be worth it!

You can create your own applications for your business with less resources, both time and money. It allows you to build your own applications using your business' data and with not too complicated programming. Application design is limited and quite simple but the relatively short amount of time it takes to build an app using AppSheet makes it worth it.

As mentioned before, the limited customization options. Also, applications can run slowly if the user is using a not so powerful device.

The Utube videos and support offered by AppSheet made it possible to create an App the way I wanted it to run.

My App runs on pre-stored data and once my users have selected the questions, a code was presented and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get this code to just populate it's field. The code had to be selected otherwise it did not save. I still don't know how to get 3 of my codes to save without being clicked.

App Sheet makes our Equipment pickups very easy. The Camera function makes it easy to scan our Bar codes and is a very quick and solid software.

If you want to develop mobile app even without knowledge on how to do it, AppSheet is the perfect software you can rely on. This mobile development software makes you feel that you are an expert software developer because when your data was set-up properly, instantly your own customized and preferred app will be perfectly launched and published. I always use this app whenever I want my school records and data in a form of spreadsheets to easily share with my students and colleagues.

As an end-user, I can't figure out what I don't like about this software. For me, this makes mobile app development enjoyable in an easy way!

Useful and Light-weight App that encompasses all businesses. With its no-code feature makes it comfortable for entrepreneurs to navigate and customize design/content from pool of templates easily integrated to other platforms.

AppSheet lets you have more control of your data in Google Sheets. If you already know how to use Sheets formulas, AppSheet will be a quick learn. You can easily control who sees what data and do data validation. AppSheet takes care of the UI for you, so no time wasted creating a pretty interface. I really enjoyed this since I do not know UX design.

Nachteile

The mindset of just working with Sheets and Sheets formulas can be a challenge for someone used to working with traditional developing languages. Trying to determine what my bots were doing was hard at first, though this may just be a mindset shift for me.

I've experienced slow response of the app with tables over 10.000 records (sync too long).

Like AppyPie, AppSheet attempts to remove coding from the app development process. I'm not sure this can ever really be achieved. I find the AppSheet apps have a more modern UI than AppyPie and have a better catalogue of example/demo apps.
I believe these tools are best for MVP type applications where you want to quickly deploy an idea however they may never replace coding your own (or having someone code your own) app.

Nachteile

I find it very hard to tweak the UI enough to really produce an app that isn't instantly recognizable as a WYSIWYG type app. Perhaps that isn't the case for everyday users, but for developers and techie type people, it's easy to spot.

The ease of managing the functionality of your app and the documentation is really helpful. The app community is also a very accessible and convenient platform to discuss and seek guidance

I researched simple app development for many years and tried at least 10 tools, Appsheet is really the best and the only one that works, all the others are too complicated, with a steep learning curve.

The sync time seems to be a bit of an issue, also definition of formulas and their functions could use a little more detail, especially those that differ from Google Sheets formulas.
