Apps are destroying early childhood education!
Disgraceful.
Vorteile
Nothing. I am opposed to this type of app because it is counterproductive. It does not surprise me that this app was developed by a parent, not a teacher.
Nachteile
I work for a company that uses Brightwheel and I firmly believe that this app and others like it are awful. They enable helicopter parenting, distract teachers, and set a bad example for children. Kids watch their teachers pick up a phone or tablet constantly to enter Brightwheel information, but to them it’s no different than if their teacher were texting a friend; their eyes are not on the kids. Teachers should be engaged and present, not worrying about parents getting updates. If you want your child to have the best experience, don’t send them to a center that uses this app.
