No Price for Safety
After a family emergency, I had to pick up my 5-year-old grandson from school. My daughter assured me I was on the list and told me to set up an account with Britewheel. Setting up the account was easy. I arrived at the school which I had never been to and checked out my grandson with ease. Over the next few days while I cared for him, I was alerted when he was officially checked in each morning and when he was checked out. It was such a relief to know no one could remove him from school without an alert on my phone.
Vorteile
I felt my grandson was safe at school when I had to care for him after a family emergency. It was easy to use and set up.
Nachteile
Ability to turn off and on text messages would be a great bonus for this software. I have no other ideas because it was such an awesome app

I’m a parent and teacher in the same school
I absolutely love bright wheel! It’s made teaching a bit easier and as a parent it’s a great way to communicate with the school and teachers.
Vorteile
I like how parents and teachers can communicate with each other at their convenience. As a parent I absolutely love getting videos and pictures of my child and as a teacher I like sending them out to the parents so they can see what their child is doing. I also like how a teacher is able to keep tabs on all the kids like what rooms there and then when they were absent.
Nachteile
As a parent with multiple children the same school, when a notification is sent and it doesn’t tell me which child the door is for. It Also sometimes as a parent I would like to send the teachers a picture of something my child is doing at home or if they were set with something else that wasn’t there then I can show them a picture and let them know that we have iT.

Communication and Connectivity
It has been nothing but good, response to technical support is quick and easy.
Vorteile
Keeping the channel of communication open is a top priority in this business. We are able to inform and ask questions directly to consultants over large distances. We are able to send pictures and video as needed. We are able to set up people with ease and very easy to use.
Nachteile
I have not tried the accounting aspect of the program but will shortly. If it could tie into the government aspect of the business it would be even more beneficial.

Relying on Brigthwheel to Keep Us Sane and Safe!
We have been big fans of Brightwheel since starting to use it in our schools. We use it across all 7 of our locations for everything from staff attendance to kids temperature checks. We would be lost without it! Parents also love it. They are able to feel connected and stay in communication even during their busy days.
Vorteile
This app is extremely user friendly. Staff and parents are typically able to use it without any instruction. It has saved us to much time and energy in our classrooms. We also rely on the safety features to assist with the new protocol in place since reopening during the pandemic.
Nachteile
Occasionally it will lag and we will need to wait to post/input content. But the Brightwheel team will get it fixed very quickly.

Teacher's Point of View
I am able to better communicate with parents and give them a better picture of what happens during our school day.
Vorteile
Brightwheel is highly enjoyed by my parents. They especially like getting picture updates of their children. I enjoy being able to "text" my parents and get an immediate response without having to call them. It is helpful that they now align with NC state standards and can help me assess my students.
Nachteile
A big problem I have had with brightwheel is using their app to take pictures, my pictures do not get saved and I lose the picture of I go to do anything else. If you want to upload videos, I suggest using the app, because it is very difficult to get any video from your device onto the app. You also can only take a tiny video clip. I would love to have longer videos! I am sad that we can not align brightwheel with Teaching strategies gold.

Love this app
This is a very user friendly app. Has all that you need without getting too fancy!
Vorteile
This app was super easy to use. My son's childcare used it. They switched to another app for a moment, but it was difficult to navigate, so much so, that the daycare switched back to Brightwheel.
Nachteile
I have no complaints with this app. My wife and I loved how easy it was to use.

Paper check-in no more!
Awesome! We started with the free version and were so impressed that upgrading to the paid version was a no brainer! Saves us so much time and stress on a daily bases.
Vorteile
Communication and paperwork are made so much easier with Brightweel. So much time is saved and the trees are breathing a sigh of relief with paperless check in and out. Parents love the clear communication and pictures of their little ones while they are with us.
Nachteile
We only wish it worked offline in the times when our internet is down. We manage to get around it but it can be frustrating.

BEST COMMUNICATION TOOL
GREAT COMMUNICATION! If we have any problems, concerns or just technical difficulties they are prompt to respond.
Vorteile
I love the open communication we now have with parents. This is especially helpful when you have a new student and you are able to send pictures of the child playing, having fun, doing art work and answer any parent questions. Parents feel they have a direct line of communication with the teachers without us having to stop classtime.
Nachteile
I would like to see the sign-in program inprove and the billing. But they are constantly updating the app and improving all the functions so I can not complain.

Parent communications
The customer service was, frankly, awful when we began using the program. The change in this is fabulous! Love all the things that are being added!
Vorteile
We often use the app to contact all of our parents with a single stroke, for information about their children, closures, field trips to even asking them all for a plumber recommendation when our water tank quit working. Parents willing to help were amazing! So great to be able to let small things like that be known! Parents love the ability to see what their children are doing, eating etc. We have coupled this with watch me grow which is a great marriage.
Nachteile
I'd love to see a start date added to the child's profile, as well as an end date. When clocking our school children it would be nice to be able to do this in a batch, rather than individually.

Love having this tool at our daycare
Very positive experience! The daily photos that our daycare takes makes it fun to see what my kids are up to all day.

This is such a great tool to help communication between parents and daycare. Both of my kids are in daycare and the updates that happen throughout the day help put my mind at ease and help me know how their day is going.
Nachteile
I found this to be a great tool! I honestly only have positive feedback. Our newborn was 7 weeks old when he started daycare, and being able to watch how his day was going, communicate with our providers, and see photos made the transition so much easier.

Great Product to connect school and home
This is a great tool, allowing families and school to be partners. The parents can be aware of what their child in doing in the classroom on a daily basis, even hourly, while still providing ease for the teachers to enter that data.

The ease of use is great. I love how they have added the new feature where check in/check out can be done through your smartphone.
Nachteile
I wish there was a way to streamline data entry, especially when you have children from the same family, where contact information is the same. I would love to see a way to easily add new children to the same family.

My review of using Brightwheel
No more lost daily sheets or a parent not seeing how their child's day is going. Also, Parents can access their billing/payment information when it's convenient for them and not just during business hours. The benefits are multiple. Staff can record meals, activities and naps for multiple students instead of having to hand write the same thing on a piece of paper. It keeps a detailed log of a child's day such as check in and out, appetite, activity without having to go through a stack of papers to check these items.
Vorteile
That you can share the child's day/activities immediately instead of waiting until the end of the day. I also love that you can access important information immediately instead of having to go through paperwork looking for it.
Nachteile
That the option of taking a picture while messaging all parents in all rooms isn't available.

We have been using Brightwheel for our daily family communications. It is easy to use and allows quick, meaningful sharing and communication between parents and teachers. It makes sharing photos and videos with families easy and meaningful, allowing families to feel comfortable and included in their child's day. It is a useful tool for documentation of student progress but has limitations for lesson planning.

Very Helpful for Daily Use
It has been wonderful because of the ease of use.
Vorteile
Brightwheel has made our communication and attendance so easy. We are able to do roll call, send messages to parents, etc. The most important aspect for me as a teacher is that parents are able to give permission to persons authorized to pick up their child. As teachers we just have to check the child's list of people knowing each person has their own pin for checking out. It's been a life saver!!
Nachteile
At the moment I can not think of anything negative about brightwheel. It's so helpful!!

Great for Daycares
Vorteile
I enjoy using this for my home daycare so parents are aware of what their kids are doing throughout the day. The can get real time updates of when their child uses the restroom, eats, sleeps, etc. It's easy to use and you're able to individualize for each child.
Nachteile
I'd like to have an option of knowing how long (hours and minutes) a child has been in my care for the day with the click of a button. We have a 48 hour limit per week for a child to be in our care and this would make it easy to calculate.

In today's Tech world
Over all I love this program. I have looked into other programs as such but none of them top Bright Wheel.
Vorteile
There is so many things that I and my parents love about the software that it is hard to just pick one. Since it's the most like reason, I would have to say it's keeping of the records.
Nachteile
The one con I don't like is when updates are done, I never see them. like the one update where if there was a group of children in one family the children would be put altogether for clocking in and out and the parent only has to enter their code once instead of going to each kid to do a clock in and out. I still have not seen this update and we have a lot of families who have more than one kid to check in and out.

Perfect for ALL!!!
It has been truly successful for us. We have children here who begin at 8 eeks of age and parents already have a hard time leavingtheir child at such a young age, to provide them with the security of knowing they can see how th day progresses for their child, look at them in their classrooms and during their work cycle is awesome!!!!

The application allows my staff to upload photos, videos and all kinds of Information so parents are able to have a feeling of them actually being a part of their childs school day. Its amazing.

Great Communication Product
It is fabulous for keeping two way communication between parents and teachers in real time. I also like how it is all in one place so there is history if you ever need to go back.
Vorteile
I like how easily you can share photos or comments with a wide range of parents. It keeps them up to date on their kids activities, food intake etc. and is way better than the old paper and pen method.
Nachteile
There are some bugs. Sometimes it sends things to all parents even though a child wasn't necessarily in class that day. Reporting isn't always the best.

Easy use of Brightwheel
I really like using this app. I can easily pay my child's weekly tuition with just clicking 1-2 buttons. I can see what my child has been doing and eating all day as soon as it is posted by the staff. I am alerted when we sign in and sign out our child for the day.
Vorteile
I get alerts right away when my child has used the bathroom; had something to eat or the start and end of his nap time.
Nachteile
The initial account set up can be a bit frustrating but your child's school administrator should be well versed in this product and be able to assist you.

I’m happy with the main aspect of communicating with parents. Billing and reports still need more added to them.

I like being able to enter the kids’ activities. I like the billing aspect, but the billing and reports needs to be updated.
Nachteile
The lack of flexibility in the report feature and the billing feature. I’ve said for months that I need to be able to close invoices that are unpaid when a parent walks out on a bill. I still need the record for legal reasons but don’t want it front and center all day long. Also, I’d like to be able to keep track of spending and other income, so using Brightwheel for bookkeeping would be essential. I pay for this service elsewhere at the moment.

School Use
Brightwheel is an amazing tool that every school - not just daycare, should use. It also helps document kids' progress and learning development.
Vorteile
We LOVE Brightwheel. It helps us communicate with parents on a daily basis about everything from diaper changes to injuries. It allows our teachers to share what happens throughout the day without having to share their phone numbers.
Nachteile
We wish the the Brightwheel calendar connected to the Google Calendar - which is where we house our school calendar(s).

Great for Preschools!
The preschool uses it as a Parent communication tool. It is also useful for keeping track of daily activities and incidents.
Vorteile
I worked at a preschool that uses this software and it is great! It is really easy to input meals, potties, naps, incidents, pictures, etc. it’s also great now that my girls go to the preschool! I love being involved in their day even though I’m working.
Nachteile
Nothing really, in 2 years of using it. It has exceeded expectations. It’s great for what we need it for.

Love it!
We love the costumer support and ease of product. Our teachers rave about the efficiency of it and our parents rave about the swift and easy communication.
Vorteile
Billing, Lesson Planning, Daily Communication with Parents, I like the idea of the newsletter feature, but it still needs to be refined to meet our needs.
Nachteile
Would love to have a messaging feature that was staff to staff. Would love lining up developmental milestones to be easier and age based. Would love to be able to import our menu.

Easy Way to Stay in the Loop with Daycare!
It was a great experience - I could check kids in and out without the manual sign-in process. I also liked being able to send and receive messages without having to be in front of a PC.
Vorteile
I could download the app and in minutes I was able to receive and send email messages to the daycare director, or check in and check out my kids.
Nachteile
At the beginning of the daycare's utilization of this product it went down a lot. It was hard to have confidence in it but once it was working well, I loved it!

Strong Supporter but in the past had some problems.
In the beginning brightwheel worked okay. We believe we had issues on our ended with our WiFi causing problems with accessing to the program. Then it was a problem with the program having to think for long periods of times not allowing us to enter the information in to communicate with our parents effectively. So I had stopped using the program for over a year. My staff and parents asked me to try the program one more time.So in Fall of 2017 we started using the brightwheel program again and have had a 95% success with the program. The biggest problem is if you don't have the capability for continuous WiFi to access the program. But overall like really like the program.
Vorteile
It is very user friendly then most programs.
Nachteile
Not able to delete or not add portions that don't apply to your center.

Staying connected.
I really do enjoy Brightwheel a lot, and it helps me feel more connected to the parents- it is easier to keep in touch.
Vorteile
I love how we can take little videos and share, wish they could be a little longer. We share about 10 pictures every day and always check all the children in all the pictures. This because we want to share what happened in the classroom with all of us. It’s a great way for parents to check in, but most of all to help parents talk about their day with their child. For their child to easier share, when they see the pictures. We also write a “daily note” about or day.
Nachteile
We are having lots of issues with pictures and videos not being posted.

Parents like seeing their children and updates
So many benefits, parents know their child is safe. Parents see their children doing fun activities and it makes them happy!
Vorteile
Parents can see their children in real time. The parent downloads the software and they get a notification whenever their child's picture is posted. Both parties need to have the app downloaded to be successful.
Nachteile
Sometimes there can be a lag when I upload pictures of multiple kids to different accounts. It does run smoothly when it wants to!

Love it
Thoroughly enjoy it and happy with it. Recommend it to everyone.
Vorteile
As an user of Brightwheel daily I have to say I do not know how I survived with my children in child care before Brightwheel was started. I love being able to see what they are doing all day every day.
Nachteile
I wish there was an ability to send messages on the web and not just through the app, when I am at work shooting a message from my computer is much easier than getting my phone out.
