Minitab is a powerful statical software which can be used data analyzing. We can easily generates charts using that. So that is very useful for university students. You just need to enter the necessary data. Then it will automatically generate relevant bar charts and pie charts..

There are not enough modelling methods on minitab it self. If we need a modelling method we will have to purchase it. It is bit costly.

I use this software to do basic statistical analysis. It's got a good graphical interface, and will handle most common tests. I got this primarily because it would do what I needed and I didn't have time to self-teach SAS or R.

Nachteile

It does lack the functionality of some more powerful statistical software packages. Guess that's a trade-off for the GUI.

Its statistics functions are diversified, practical and logical. It is very easy to import data into Minitab. Another amazing point is the Minitab book which contains very detailed information about how to work with the software. Even you don't have the book, you can always find support information on their website. Just google it and you're good to go.

The design is a little boring. It looks quite old-fashion and low-tech even though the software itself has amazing statistics and visualization tools.

MiniTab 19 is very easy to use and does not require an experienced user (unlike JMP and SAS). As a first time user, I found it very helpful in doing all the statistical analyses that I needed.

Although it is really really easy to use, it is not as extensive as JMP and SAS. Once I was adept with MiniTab, I found that JMP and SAS offered more options like design of experiments, not available in MiniTab

The easy analysis of data is the most likelihood of this software. As well as the interpretation of data is also highlightable.

Data entering difficulties can be highlighted as least likely. As well as the appearance is also lack of motivated.

The "cell" format makes this a very familiar layout, but the ease of access to regression analysis and statistical testing tools makes this a top-of-the-line software. Because it is streamlined to perform statistical analyses without any coding knowledge, this program has large advantages over its competitors.

Nachteile

Often I felt pigeonholed into the format of my inputs, but this admittedly helped to reduce confusion in the long run. In some cases, it felt more convenient and less hectic to create multiple files rather than continually adding more data into one file.

I use it for six sigma projects including DMAIC or DFSS.

Despite having excellent built-in learning and help features, you should start out with a solid foundation in statistics. I commonly observe people analyzing their data in Minitab without fully comprehending what the results mean.

Minitab has made it so easy to analyze the data. It was one of the first statistics software that I had used and found its features and interface so user friendly. From creating graphs ,statistical analysis and forming reports it is the best thing an engineer can ask for. One more great thing about it is that you don't need to be an expert to use it.

I think the interface can be made more attractive and different from how it looks by bringing some modifications except for this everything about it is great!

I understand that they can include dedicated graphic panel for every tab, because currently you have all on them together and increase the chance for mistakes, and see if someone have the opportunity to shift the dataanalysis where you want in the field of the left.

Minitab is a great software for statistics. I highly recommend it for my students during their last year for their graduation projects. The software is pretty simple and there are many tutorials available that help the students while using the software. Importing data is so simple and generating graphs is very easy. There are a lot of statistical tools available but I like to use ANOVA and student-t test.

Nachteile

Nothing so far but sometime I find it hard when it comes to printing data and reports

If you have not had ample statistical analysis experience, or statistical basics, this program could definitely seem overwhelming for all it has to offer and what you can customize on an analysis.

Minitab has a lot of great features that are quite accessible with little to no training with the software. Obviously some level of statistical training is necessary to work any statistics software, but the user interface is simple and well guided. I was a big fan of this software for my statistical analyses when I was in undergraduate.

Nachteile

The statistical tools are relatively basic. I believe there are competitors that can handle larger datasets more routinely and powerfully. For individual dataset analysis, this is a great tool, but to scale up and run a business around a software, there are solid competitors that can be upgraded to.

I think that one of the best features of Minitab is its user-friendly interface. Every tool can be found in the menus, so you do not have to know any programming language.

The only thing I think is missing from Minitab are some more advanced statistical analysis method. Besides that, this is a great software for basic analysis.

Minitab 18 is extremely easy to use and presents a wide array of options in the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data. It has a friendlier interface than most of the other statistical programs making it the ideal program for beginners.

The programme is not compatible with most of the programs I use making it difficult for me to import and export data. Also the programme does not analyze advanced statistics so one might need to consider other programmes like SAS.

I used Minitab for university statistics classes, and the learning curve was pretty easy for those accustomed to Excel. The software allows for much of the same analysis as excel but reduces time and difficulty in analysis.

- Visually the software looked a bit dated.
- For those not used to spreadsheet apps like Excel, Minitab would be difficult to learn.

It has lots of features and functions. I guess this software is all you need when it comes to data analytics and visualizations. Would definitely recommend it if you wanna make life easier, but it's also difficult for beginners to learn the software.

It is expensive software. Even though it provides a free trial of a month, that month would be consumed just to understand the software completely. It's overwhelming for new users. If there was a lite version with basic functionalities, made free for users, then that would be helpful.

What have they done to the regression buttons? - they are now incomprehensible except to the effete statisticians - the basic print out is poor beyond words far better to use R as in

Please restore a button that will give a printout that is of the same standard. Otherwise I will have to go elsewhere - personally I cannot stand the intellectual snobbery that uses obscure terms and complicates the simple under the guise of being more sophisiticated. We get a lot of this in the UK, surprised to see it in the US.

Minitab was my go to tool at university. Having introduced to Minitab at an undergraduate course, I continued to use it for my postgraduate and work as well. It is a great software to have which allows you t visually represent and analyze your data without having to actually figure out how to use the software in detail. It is a great time saver when most of the softwares out there require an extensive background of knowledge of just how to operate them.

Minitab is lacking the intuitive user-friendly face which will make it less intimidating for a beginner to start.

The charts are not very appealing. I prefer to make charts using other software. Sometimes it can be hard to find the specific functions that you need.

My experience with this software was extremely limited prior to my current position. This software probably has some of the better online help available. I never had to complete GRRs in prior positions and report out on them. This software's help not only helped me stumble through it (successfully), but I understood what I was reporting out on. I really like it. Plus the visuals, graphs, etc...they really make a nice addition to any report I am working on.

I don't have any cons to report out on. I didn't use this software prior to my current position, so I really had no comparisons for this.

It automated the calculations and provided quick results. A lot of data processing work can be performed with just few clicks.

I like how Minitab is simple, AKA, easy to use but still have many features and tools to analyze and manipulate data. I like how it is possible simply copy-paste from Excel sheet and plot any graph that is needed in literally seconds, then customize the parts of it by simple double clicking.

Nachteile

That's rather a design issue but when closing data tables/workspace sometimes it closes Minitab and any unsaved progression is lost and that's of course sad.
