We had several meetings and almost moved forward with a product that we eventually found would not work for us - anything that we would need or utilized on the platform we were using, would be an additional cost. Eventually we landed on ThoughtFarmer, and they were everything that we were looking for, with the addition of being similar to what we were paying our previous supplier. Also, we are a smaller to mid-sized company. A lot of the intranet platforms we looked into are much more aligned with larger corporate structures, where they have made it impossible for "the little guys" to even be able to consider them. The more you needed from their platform, the more it would cost you. ThoughtFarmer was more, "These are features that we share with all of our customers, under one price\!" What a dream\! > > **Nachteile**: The only thing(s) that I can think of are small nuances. We are a very socially company, even through email and DM's, so a lot of us like using GIFs and the occasional video. You can bring these into your intranet, but it's not throughout the platform, only in certain areas. > > The team was great from start to finish, specifically \[sensitive content hidden\]. I didn't have much interaction with the implementation team, only because of my schedule, but our transition to ThoughtFarmer was almost seamless\! The experience was wonderful, we got a great intranet, and saved money in the process\! The base rate for ThoughtFarmer was cheaper than our current intranet by a substantial amount (including adding a significant amount of new users). There are additional add-on features that can be purchased. These are not necessary for a functional/organized intranet, but there are some cool options for reasonable prices. I love that every resource has a home and the robust navigation options. I also really like that editing/admin functions all live within the same site, as opposed to going to a different site. They have SO MANY features that are very flexible and customizable. It takes some work to get set up, optimize settings, and migrate content, but it's worth it\! One of our major organizational goals with the new intranet was cutting down on mass emails (emails to all staff announcing X), and this intranet will definitely help with that. The news feature is very customizable and there are options to make information front and center on the homepage. > > **Nachteile**: There are some specific features that are to be desired our new intranet, but we are still ahead of where we were with our previous platform. Some of the features desired (these may be included in future updates): \*Major limitation\* External links are not searchable, and there's no 'broken link report' to see which external links may not work. As a credit union, we have a good amount of external links. I also want to mention that all of these points have been relayed with ThoughtFarmer, and may be part of future feature updates. They've been very good about working in our feedback where possible. Forms - To get a notification for a comment on the form, the commenter has to tag you. In theory that's a small step, however it's not something our staff has gotten the hang of yet. Also it would be helpful to add comments to forms. Content editing - If a page is in 'draft mode' it doesn't exist at all. Ideally, there would be a live/published version along with the draft version. Additionally, there could be a permissions setting where a user can update content, but it needs to be routed for approval by someone else before publishing. There is a way to manually set a collaborator, but there's a very real possibility this can be bypassed. > > Working with ThoughtFarmer was truly exceptional\! They built a plan/timeline with us at the beginning and made sure we stuck to it. Their customer success team was very helpful and ensured we had the tools and training needed to succeed.
