I needed software to allow me to protect PDF files to prevent opening by an unintended party. I was able to add just the security module .
It is also a plus that it includes a PDF print device, especially since I am still using Windows 7.

Nachteile

Actually there are a few things.
1) It does not remember the directory used for new output files.
2) Highlighting is not included with the FREE functionality. It is with Acrobat Reader.
3) The first time output is directed to the PDF printer, the software is very slow to load.

I began using Soda PDF, Desktop 10 version, because I wanted a no-cost or low-cost solution to combining pdf pages into one document or to separate one pdf document into separate pages. Soda PDF met those expectations and much more. Soda PDF enables me to create a PDF from a file, my clipboard, or even from a blank. Right on the home page there is a support link as well as a video product tour. It is very well design and user friendly. I had no issues doing what I needed to do.

Probably what I like the least is just a personal opinion and a concern I have with most software. There seems to be so many features and functions that it would be impossible to learn it all and use it all. That sometimes makes it difficult to grasp exactly what needs to be accessed to get something accomplished.

this program continually crashes when editing PDFs. As an E sign program I have lost days and blown out deadlines EVERY time I use this program. It is always trying to get more money with sneaky adds, despite paying for a Pro subscription. it is by far the most horrendous program I have ever used. stay clear of this program! after spending an hour setting signature fields on a document the program kicked me out saying I have to pay more to send the documents - even though I'm already a pro user. Steer clear!

The amount of functiong that SODA pdf offer for you to edit your files is huge, you can divide, merge, compressed, unlock, protect, sing, export, convert from so many formats and so on, it is very useful, and the process of edition it is very quick and the results is what you are looking for.

Unfortunately the premium version for me is too expensive, I every time that I have to use the software I have to be connected to the internet.

We purchased this to add links to pdfs and found that after spending an hour adding them - when we exported the pdf the links disappeared. Then we wrote into support and they started sending articles about how to remove links from the pdf. Total waste of money for us and very unhappy with the purchase. Support took forever to reply and was very unhelpful on top of this...stay away!

Soda PDF is a great product in its category, offer all possible pdf-related funtionality, such as splitting, editing, combining and signing pdfs and is reliable and easy to use. it is also constantly upgraded and improved, making it a good choice for private use and also for company use. It has a desktop version but also a mobile application browser-based, making it a great choice for mobile users.

the integration with the cloud can be seen as a benefit but in certain cases it can also be seen as a limit, when product features exist exclusively in the cloud then this can be an issue.

It has a friendly interface, it is specific in its functions, it seems great to be able to highlight or underline texts in the document just by pressing a button in the options menu. I love the transition from one page to another in a document when it is in 3D View. Convert Word documents to PDF without any difficulty

In general it is an excellent program, however you can not access the option to write texts on the document, The panel on the left side does not have much use if the document does not have signatures, layers or registers

It is fairly straight forward to use but don't count on the free version to be able to do much of anything you really need to do.

This program runs fairly slowly and I keep having sign in issues, which although are usually resolved fairly quickly are super frustrating when I find out mid process I've been signed out and my account isn't recognized, especially when working under a deadline or time crunch and the free version can't do what I need.

On the front page of their website they advertise that Soda has OCR. Click buy it now, and you are presented with two options: Home or Premium version, nothing else. I bought the premium because one would expect OCR is included in that version. It is not. After you pay them, then you get an email where they offer to sell you OCR for another sum of money. I asked for a refund instead as I am not a satisfied customer and it looks like I’ll have to do a chargeback because they haven’t issued a refund and its been over two weeks.

Watch the installation routine, it is a trap. You cannot install the program without approving "Block dangerous and phishing scams" and "Stop websites from tracking you online". It is very suspicious that these cannot be unchecked. Not convinced yet? Read the light grey policy text: "By selecting 'Install Adware Web Companion', I agree to install Adaware Web Companion, set my homepage, new tabs and default search engine to Bing or capatible web browsers, and consent to its End User License Agreement and privacy policy." Make this product more of a scam rather than a product.

I found that the program will often freeze, and cause the PDf to be unusable. This would result in having to restart the program and use the "Repair" function that is built into the program. Unfortunately, I've had to do this several times in the last 2 months.

Also, the black friday promotion is a little invasive/annoying as it rolls up your desktop even when the program isn't being used.

The feature set is quite good. It allows for creating pdfs from different document types, editing them (adding/deleting pages), extracting images, and quite a bit more.

Converting pdfs to Excel. It generates hundreds of columns and the need for some very sophisticated excel formulae to get all the figures aligned vertically, without which the Excel file is barely usable. The Adobe version does a better job of this.

After I purchased I tried multiple times to try and download. However I found out after I paid that they don’t have a desktop version for Mac. I thought I needed an add on and went to purchase this it ended up charging me a full subscription twice. I tried using the online version however when doing simple editing an error kept on popping up.
Could not talk to anyone in support because there is no ability to do so. No chat only email. I have been editing 5 days for a response.

I needed a PDF converter with a variety of tools and after trying several free versions that were pretty difficult to use, I found Soda. Converting PDFs is tricky and I've tried a variety of converters. The Soda program is very easy to use and organizes files well.

Sadly, converting PDFs to other formats is tricky and none of the converters are perfect. Soda does a better than average job of converting PDFs to csv format, but there will be imperfections in the convert that will need review.

You can't use this on a MAC computer, but theres no mention of this during the purchase and download. And, there is an image on their website that shows a MAC package download! But you download an .exe file. When I called, I was told they don't have a MAC version, and to use it online instead. I couldn't do anything except 'free' options online, but I had already paid for premium. I called again, and at first, they refused to refund me. Only when I pointed out that they are advertising a MAC product that they don't have did they agree to a refund.

The best reason why you use Soda PDF is for the online options. It doesn't matter where you are or what computer you are on. No matter what, you are able to securely add, edit, and create the PDFs that you need. Great for business users on the go.

The licensing options are not geared toward personal use. It seems marketed and priced for the business users. Support is pretty good, but not the best. You can't seem to get a hold of them except thru some restricted business hours.
