AVG provides all the familiar options for customising the "when where and how" for scanning the incoming and outgoings from a business, and these are handled well. However the most noticeably good thing for us when we replaced our previous protection was the increase in responsiveness for our slightly aging machines. AVG seems to have gotten back to being relatively lightweight which is great!

Nachteile

I don't like the console, it's a bit difficult to navigate and some unintuitive buttons and options for controlling and containing things. Mostly these are fine and may even serve to make it difficult to do anything particularly dangerous or silly without knowing what you are doing but they can act like a hurdle if you do want to tinker around more than normal. Also we hated the aggressiveness of advertising in the free version.

AVG is extremely detailed in their searches for malware and viruses. Even for the free version, AVG always updates and this gives me confidence that my computer is updated against even the newest of threats. AVG provides detailed reports of their scans, and I appreciate how they communicate in plain and easy to understand language for the everyday user. For the 4 years I used the AVG Free and paid versions, I never had a major computer issue.

Nachteile

AVG provides way too many notifications, and this is extremely distracting. I get notifications through the software and via email. AVG pushes their paid version far too much, and it is a huge turn off as a consumer. I am always having to click away a notification that is of little importance. I wish the software was less attention consuming.

This has been my security option on my PC for as long as I can remember now. Back in my teens, I remember being told by my more computer savvy friends that this was the best option on the market for the cost. At the time, it cost me nothing!
After over a year of positive results, I decided to continue my use and purchased the software after my trail expired. I still use it on my old laptops, which I have never run into any security issues. It is easy to navigate when you need to add exceptions to your safety lists, and it updates without you having to prompt it.

I don't have much negative to say about this software. It sits in the background and its job well.

I guess if I am splitting hairs, I would prefer the interface for this software be a bit more user friendly. I sometimes would run into a bit of frustration when attempting to find a site I had previously blocked.

Having used various types of antivirus and malware protection software, I found that AVG served me best. It has a good malware protection system. It has other great capabilities such as destroying any given file leaving no trace of it. I find this very useful specially with the online threats from virus and malware. One of my personal favorite feature is that it does not slow the performance of the computer. AVG regularly updates and helps protect the system.

Sometimes when you use AVG for full system scans it becomes power hungry and slows the computer. But it only happens when you run a full scan on your system.

The fact that it doesn't use as much computer resources as Mcafee and Norton Antivirus. It's not the lightest antivirus but pretty decent when you compared to the ones that get pushed when you buy a new laptop or PC on a store.

If you want basic protection and use the free version, it gets a little pushy with the notifications trying to get you to buy the pro version. You need to be careful because sometimes the wording looks like it's asking you to update when in reality they are referring to an upgrade to the paid version.

I like how it is easy to install this software in variety of gadgets. I have been using avg antivirus for more than two years and it has never let me down. I have used AVG Internet Security as a business user at my previous organization for two years and as a private user for even longer. The software is an absolute gem. We are able to run automatic virus and malware scans, boost our firewalls, and gather some reporting on what items were found on employee computers. The user AI is incredibly simple as well, there is little to no learning curve.
