It's so easy to pick up and go through a lesson. If you need to hear how a word is supposed to sound or see what the meaning of a word is, Duolingo has it covered for you! It doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner or not, Duolingo helps all levels!

Nachteile

The ads and notifications are a bit too much after completing each lesson.

- the lessons are appropriately paced, even for the busiest of schedules

- the lessons are fun and engaging

- it provides ample opportunities to practice the language through identification, writing, and speaking.

- I wish it was thorough enough to teach a language fluently

- The modules reiterate new words and phrases to the point of redundancy and losing interest

This is the easiest software to immediately dive into learning another language. It's easily accessible and makes it pretty fun to do.

I think there are some limitations with getting into more advanced language skills. That makes sense though, because it seems that would be more part of applying what you learn.

This was a free and easy way to learn basic Spanish phrases. The free version was easy to start and taught me exactly what I needed for conversational skills.

I did not get to choose the phrases or words covered with the free version. The software chose the words for me to learn and I could not skip around.

Honestly there is nothing I can think of that I would say I dislike about Duolingo. I have not had any issues with it yet.

Duolingo is actually an awesome app for learning languages, even just by using the free version is entertaining and funny. Is super easy to use and intuitive, 100% recommend it for a free app. You could select between an extend range of languages to learn.

I hate all the ads in the free version, but I understand they need to make some money out of this. Of course the daily lives are limited too in the free version.

Also, some of the examples doesn't make any sense at all but that makes you laugh.

This software has daily learning in short chunks as well as skill-appropriate lessons and vocabulary.

I used this personally but could have benefitted from its use at my company due to the many languages that are sometimes used by business partners.

Although this program makes learning approachable and easy, it did not seem to have any function for learning WITH others which is how I learned my second language. As a result, I stopped using duolingo after a while; there was just no traction.

I use this to continue learning German and it's bitesize chapters make it all the more easy to pick up a new language

Not really much to mention. I wish it would remind me to continue the learning progress in case I get too busy.

I have been a language tutor for a long time, and what Duolingo lacks is relevance. Language learning is all about going from functionality to proficiency. Duolingo only takes language learners to the functional part of the language, but it will not be successful until it can take students from simply drilling and memorizing to actually becoming proficient

This app is very easy to use.
The nice thing about this app is that it's free and I have access to all the materials and lessons.
The application is also good in that we can replay a given word or sentence in fast or slow mode.
it's nice that there are a lot of languages that can be learned in the app.

Nachteile

The big minus in the application is that it only goes with the Internet, if I don't have the Internet so the application will not go.
There are bad voice manifestations in the application, and sometimes there are errors.

Was going on a trip to Mexico and wanted to brush up on my basic skills. After taking the time to set up the app properly I was able to get off the ground running learning Spanish. I learned a lot of the basic words needed to travel.

Popups are annoying but when you don't pay for something they have to make their money somehow. I expect that from freeware. The product is really solid. I have no complaints.

What I loved about this application is anyone can use this. Whether you are a beginner or trying to learn more Spanish, Duolingo can be very helpful. While I did learn some Spanish in high school, this website has helped me remember some of the terminology I forgot in the past 4 years.
