How easy it is to use. Over the last few years of using the software only 47% of our emails are clean. It's a top bit of kit and I would 100% recommend it.

I used a lot of spam-block apps, this app is really good to block spams. Since i use i dont see spams in my mail box

But on the other side the app blocks some emails also, so sometimes i have to look in quarantined mails to find some mails

Maintenance is almost non existent. Easy to administer and whitelist sites.

Getting Active Directory to sync was not easy.

I has an insanely high catch rate. It very rarely quarantines "good" emails and if it does, there are many tools for users to recover and whitelist future emails.

There are so many features, at times it can be hard to find exactly what you are trying to in the web interface.

Setup was quick and easy, requires very little hardware resources and processes email very fast.

The SPAM ratings have been designed very well, and we have not had an email with a malicious attachment or URL pass through. The reporting functionality is by far one of the best I have ever used.

The white/black listing is super easy to understand and changes save very fast.

The Quarantine report is lacking in efficiency, we have some employees that cannot wait 24 hours to release an email.

The amount of emails that have been falsely identified as SPAM is much higher than I expected. We are experiencing good looking emails quarantined as SPAM for no good reason.

Spamtitan helps the user to scan all the threats and virus from the emails. It works on various anti-spam and anti-virus scanning engines platform like Kaspersky and more. The product team also provides a live demo while introducing the tool to the user for the first time. Spamtitan has day to day system management features.

Nachteile

The vendor takes much time to send a response to customer queries. The customer support service is bit lazy sometimes.

Vorteile

Mostly set and forget. Very low maintenance. Mail history searching is very good and allows research of mail status to address user concerns regarding mail flow. Setup is fairly easy. Virtualization works well.
Support is outstanding. Global and user Black and White lists.

Nachteile

Outlook Plug-in could be better - more tightly integrated. Would like admin level SPAM/NOT SPAM marking of history.

The software has a very organized and attractive web interface. Functions and features are grouped and sorted logically. Once you have the system setup very little tuning is necessary. Best of all: end-users can manage their own spam-queue and the reporting and logging is a sysadmin's dream.

Nachteile

When used in a cluster, not all settings are mirrored to all cluster members, like "trusted networks" (networks allowed to relay). A more granular backup/restore per item would come in handy.

-Emails and the spam scoring system - it blocks completely genuine emails 1 week, and lets through a load of junk the next week. It's lacking intuitiveness of other competitors.
-Regularly have to phone because a user will start receiving 'unsolicited bulk spam' and their emails get blocked sending out.
-The support level you receive when calling, id say only 1/3 of the staff know the product.
-When calling in, sometimes the phones just rings for about 10mins and then cuts you off.

As stated above it just works the way we need it work. The feature I like the most is being able to impersonate a user where I can go in and whitelist an email if I need to.

Nachteile

My one complaint, and I have voiced this for two years now, is that I would like to be able to sort the quarantine by subject. It would make it so much easier and quicker to delete a list of spam emails not to mention that it would help those of looking at the quarantine to be able to quickly determine if the email had been sent to several people thereby raising suspicion that it was a spam email

It has a plethora of configuration options. Once we went through the initial recommended configuration, it just plain worked. It's hard to single out any one specific feature that we like most because we love nearly everything about it. If we had to say one thing about it, it is that it is one of the most customization solutions that we've ran across, and also backed by some of the most patient and knowledgeable support staff we've ran across. If you have something you need to figure out chances are they have already, or can think outside the box enough to get it done. Great combination!

Nachteile

Sometimes we ran into little minor things that we wanted to change that were just too outside of the established convention. While the support staff did make it work, sometimes it would have to be readdressed with a subsequent software update release. Not a big con at all and totally understandable!

What I like the most about Soam Titan is that it takes the emails that are not important to me and sends them to a folder so I don’t have to receive them. I also like the fact that I get alerts every time when an email comes through that shouldn’t. It’s always watching out for me. I also like the fact that I have it set up every month for payment so I don’t have to worry if it’s paid or not

Nachteile

The cons about this is having to pay for it. I understood that companies need to get paid for services but I would like a free service on something like this

I set it up as a Mac virtual machine (with Parallels) and was happy that it worked so easily.
Setup was really easy, mainentance is easy. Tech support has been great, but mostly the quality of the anti spam engine!

I often have to hunt to where to find certain features. I find the GUI to be a bit hard to navigate

Price is a concern. Investigating quarantined items also requires some work & users are sometimes confused when receiving the notifications.

We have been using Spam Titan for around six months. During this time, we have found the software to be extremely customisable. The ability to whitelist/blacklist at both a global level as well as a domain level is a great feature and is very easy to do. The history/reporting feature also stands out and gives you the ability to search for emails using a number of different fields. I have had experience contacting support via telephone as well as email and find them very friendly and always available to assist remotely and answer any questions.

Nachteile

The only feature that I think would be a great addition to the software would be the ability to add pattern filters at a domain level rather than just a global level.

I didn't like support and administration is easy and effective. As a Unix specialist a nice to have would be access to terminal to add monitoring tools tailored for our environment

The software was able to be used with in-house and hosted email systems. (MS Exchange/Office 365). The setup with easy to complete and the interfaces for the users are simple and straight forward.

Nachteile

Some of the options in the software feel miscategorized in the different areas of the administration interface. I find myself going to the wrong screens for certain options.

To be honest, there is not much to not like about this software. I mean, who really doesn't like the peace of mind?

Easy for end users to deal with reviewing suspicious emails and deciding whether to accept or reject. Efficient product that doesn't delay emails coming through, can be discussing an email with a customer and it appears within moments so discussions can continue. Stops thousands and thousands of unwanted emails and learns quickly to new approaches by time wasters.

Not found anything we don't like yet with the product.

I like that once you have configured it, you basically forget about it. It just works seamlessly and you don't worry about it.

There can always be improvement on the amount of spam that it doesn't catch as there is always several that slip through.

At work I used this product for an year and moved to Symantec. When we used, this was better than similar opensource products in the matter. Setup was easy so as configuration.

There wasn't too many issues but SPAM learning algorithm can be better.

it is easy to set up and use and the support was always available. Several people in our organization had horrible spam problems. Spam Titan cloud service instantly stopped all the spam with very few false positives. The small handful of false positives were easily added to our white list and cleared.

Nachteile

The only con was that a few times, filtering through the emails trying to find and clear a blocked sender was a chore. the Filter engine wouldn't find the email in question by the senders address.

SpamTitan is highly customizable in what you can do, and it lets us filter out a lot of the spam and phishing that comes from ilk like SendGrid and other mass-mailers.

It doesn't seem to really catch a lot of the more advanced phishing attempts on its own; it seems to be more centered around virus scanning the emails.

The appliance does exactly what it is designed to do exceptionally well. Further, the support team is always on-hand to assist with any other configurations when necessary.

Nachteile

The inability to have quarantine reports automatically generated more than once a day is probably the only con of the SpamTitan appliance.

Implementation was simple. We could get basic functionality during our trial with out much initial investment. The install and configuration of the virtual appliance took less than 30min and then a few minutes to redirect mail traffic through SpamTitan.
Rules are easy to setup and after the first couple of months the administration is negligible compared to the calls from end users "should I open this email? "

Nachteile

The content filtering rules don't end up in the same window as the automated quarantine. This can make it difficult to find and release mail that is improperly flagged due to a bad admin created rule.

Lots of options to customize to your needs, it will require a long setup period but once dialed it you can basically forget about it.

It's a bit complicated to install and configure at first, but their support is good at helping you thru.

Quite simply, this has almost completely eliminated the amount of spam emails going out to users. And, on the rare occasions a spam does make it through, the blacklist (and whitelist) features are so easy to use, I can flag it there on the spot. The set up is also quite simple ensuring that you will be up and running in no time!

Nachteile

I have had some users report that the site can freeze up if you try to get too many records back by setting your filter up incorrectly, but I haven't noticed it myself. The UI could probably also stand an update!

Spam is no longer an issue now that we use SpamTitan. We rarely see a spam email come through.
