Strong features for managing history, but lacking in email integration
I would recommend it for people who are not concerned about gmail integration.
Vorteile
Full featured CRM with a great custom visual pipeline creator.
Easy to use
Support team is responsive.
Nachteile
Linking emails to customer/event records is time consuming.
When I used this software there was gmail plugin, so every time I got an email from a customer/prospect I would have to manually link it in order for it to be part of the records.

Easy to Use CRM
Having only worked for a company that uses Insightly for 2 months, I can say that I do really enjoy it but i know I still have a lot to learn.
Vorteile
So much can be done with one website and you don't have to use lots of different websites together to get the same results.

Not for me, but it is what our company has chosen.
Seems to be geared toward "groups, projects, events". I am a salesperson, not a member of a project.
Vorteile
I like the mobile accessibility. And the integration with Panda Docs- however not a perfect solution. When making multiple quotes, each one is titled by the name of the template- not the doc name so you could look at an opprotuity and see 4 different quotes all with the exact same name.
Nachteile
To hard to quickly get to where I need to be. Too many screens for the same thing i.e. lead, contact, organization, opportunity. And separate notes for each category. Email seems unreliable.

Worst service and support
I would recommend finding a product that is more robust and has proper support. The investment of time in setting up any CRM system for your business means that you need to choose the right one from the start and with all of its technical glitches and lack of support, this is one the one i would recommend to anyone.
Vorteile
Relatively easy to use and covers most main functionality you would want in a basic CRM tool with a decent amount of integrations to common third party tools
Nachteile
Scratch beneath the surface of the functionality and you soon find that there are odd and annoying glitches in the way the functionality works and its not very intuitive. Also, some advertised functionality just doesn't work and support consists of email replied that just tell you they're working on the issue (I've had one for over 2 months and another for 6 weeks without resolution on pretty key functionality not working). Given the 'no refund' policy and unhelpful support it feels like a con.

Insightly keeps me on track
For a small operation like mine, this is an outstanding CRM tool that does what I need.
Vorteile
I love the way I can access my emails, events and notes by multiple channels including opportunities, projects, contacts or companies. As a company with two principals, this has everything we need in a CRM to share information.
Nachteile
Linking my calendar is the most difficult part of this software but even that is not that big of deal.

Clunky after the big "revamp"
My goal with a CRM is to compile information into one place and save time. I feel like I spent more time working around the issues with Insightly than I saved. We ended up switching to ONTRAPORT after giving up on this software.
Vorteile
I liked that it was easy to search for our clients, but that was less easy after they did the big overhaul of the software.
Nachteile
I did not like how difficult it was to insert notes. The page would time out before I could finish a call with a client and the notes wouldn't save.

Great CRM, Lots of automations and flexibility.
The price point and ability in this software is increadible. This is a very complete CRM
Vorteile
I like how robust this software is, its very complete woth pipelines lead managment. Round robin lead distribution is nice. Automation tools give you anlot of flexibility without having to rely on outside integrations like zapier. Zapier integration works nicely though it can do a lot.
Nachteile
the lead distribution is awesome, but only allows for round robin distribution of leads, it would be nice to see that change to some sort of ratio like 1:2, that sort of thing.

A place where I can keep all my data.
Vorteile
I have been using it for quite some time and I can manage the candidates information and send them emails, track their activities and much more. Can enter detailed information for a person or company.
Nachteile
There is only one place to enter the email. Earlier, we could add more than one email which was useful. Now I have people with more than one email and I can't add that here!

Excellent software for email marketing, customer relations management and task management
Decent low cost CRM software compared to the pricier software that set the industry standard. So insightly is good for small biz folks starting out.
Vorteile
Integration with gmail, customer tracking with notes and excellent task management and reminders. Great dashboard features for use.

I had issues with Google sync of the software data.

We were using a much more expensive CRM
but when the time came to make a change in the team, we decided to give Insightly a try. During the free trial we were really impressed. We have been using it for about 5 months now on the paid plan and we find new functionality all the time. We love it.

Good for the price
I like the ability to sync with my Google. When I left the corporate world I missed my sync tools and had to piece together platforms that worked on a budget. This helped.
Vorteile
Customer service and training were good. This allows me to link contacts calendar with Google. Love it.
Nachteile
some of the type is too small on the screen. The Opportunity area does not work for me as I mainly use the Contacts and Project areas.

Helps to have client information organized
Vorteile
It has a free version, it works well with gmail and has a similar interface. It also pulls profiles of your contacts from social networks (if they have any).
Nachteile
It has basic project management features which we don't like and don;t use, so it seems that we need to overpay. They also have increased the price for minimum paid plan.

Goal oriented system
Vorteile
I love how well this system helps me achieve my goals. I never thought of myself as a competitive person, but with how easy it makes to track things, I am always doing my best to stay on top of my numbers and reaching my goals.
Nachteile
It can get really slow and buggy some times, but I believe it might also be the internets fault.

Great All in One CRM with Decent Project Management

I liked the fact that it went beyond just a CRM. Many companies need project management and something that is integrated into the CRM helps a ton.

Insightly has a customer service that is responsive. The tools are intuitive. Reporting could be better.

I use Insightly for a number of our clients
Insightly is awesome for it's ease of use, deep Google integration and their mobile app. I primarily use Insightly for clients that are field sales reps and need to update contacts from their mobile phone.
Vorteile
Easy to use, integration with Google Apps, mobile app is always improving.
Nachteile
Need better integration for email marketing. Mailchimp integration is lacking the ability to export to Mailchimp Groups. The current integration only allows exporting to a Mailchimp List (unlike the other CRM we deploy). Please add soon!

Good, but not great.
Vorteile
Insightly was the first CRM I have ever used. It's is very simple to use and takes a few minutes to understand how it works, even for a unexperienced user.
Nachteile
Insightly lacks many features I found needed. The CRM is a bit slow, and can't be tweaked into a personal tailor-made CRM.

Great basic system that is easy to use and understand

Easy basic project management and CRM software. It was a total game changer for our team when we first implemented it! Easy integration with Mail Chimp and Gmail.

Great free solution for organizing contacts
Vorteile
As a freelancer with numerous contacts among multiple clients, Insightly helps me to stay organized with who I last spoke with and when we last spoke, along with contact details and other notes. It's much easier than trying to keep this information clear through Gmail alone.
Nachteile
The UX/UI is rather outdated, and sometimes the software auto-connects contacts with incorrect social accounts.

Insightly's Information Management System Increases Efficiency

By linking organizations, contacts, and emails with opportunities, Insightly saves users a ton of time searching for contact information, company information, or your past correspondence. Insightly is also highly customizable for various different kinds of businesses. Its features can be changed to mirror practically any kind of preexisting organizational system. Lastly, Insightly's search function allows users to quickly look up contact information, sent emails, and other information.
Nachteile
Insightly automatically links your associated social media sites to your account. If you sign up with your gmail address, for example, anything linked to your chrome account will show up on your Insightly account. This is great if you want to get your name out there on Twitter or other sites, but can also result in users unintentionally showing personal accounts to coworkers and clients.

Solid CRM for small businesses
Aside from the cons that made me switch, Insightly does it's job very well. I might consider switching back when they allow two way Exchange support.
Vorteile
It works nicely, has many useful functionalities. The best one is probably the built-in project management functionality. It is simple, but sufficient for most small business needs.
Nachteile
The reason I actually switched from Insightly to Accelo and then to Freshsales is Insightly does not integrate with MS Exchange in the way the two other solutions do. It allows you to send e-mails from your exchange account but does not monitor incoming e-mails. And seeing e-mail history with given customer is very helpful feature for me. The mobile app could be more up to date as well.

So-so product, poor customer service
Customer success plan was a waste of money. When we reached out to our contact for assistance, he would just refer us to the regular help desk.
Vorteile
Initially, that it was free. Upgraded twice. Upgrade to Professional plan has not had a high ROI.
Nachteile
Some features are not very intuitive. Help team often refers users back to help center, even though user had tried that option first.

Really good but just not what I needed
It's very customizable but I just didn't have the time to do it.
Vorteile
Had all the Crm and database features you could want. Good training and onboarding process and good pricing.

Our sales process is pretty simple so it was a little bit of overkill. Also I ended up wanting something that would integrate with scheduling.

No Customer Support
Customer isn’t first in a company who’s software is made to focus on it. I feel betrayed as a customer.
Vorteile
It’s pretty intuitive, one of the cheaper CRM options. Once you get inside the software it looks nice and professional.
Nachteile
They don’t give you what they sell you, it’s a bait and switch. They call it a “customer success program” instead of implementation because they literally do nothing for you. If you have plenty of time to watch countless YouTube videos and read articles, then it makes sense. However, if you’re not told upfront in the sales process that there’s no implementation, there’s no importing databases for you, there’s no connecting the networks, there’s essentially a rep who points you to the right YouTube video once you have a question or an issue. Also I’ve opened a support ticket to have help connecting our server since we switched IT teams, not only did they refuse to get on a call and pass me off to yet another ‘helpful link’ but they suggested I paid for the next level “customer success rep” per year. So it’s really a business model that is set up as sell as much as you can and automate everything so you never have support the customer afterwards. Good luck if you want to talk to a real person on the phone.

Great CRM for a small or mid-size business
I would recommend this to any SMB company. Great for a startup, and I think the software grows well with a small company.
Vorteile
Insightly is very easy to get started on and set up. It allows for customized fields for information specific to your needs. It also integrates into MS Outlook, to allow you to capture email messages and schedule followups.
Nachteile
I have no real complaints on the software. I originally really wanted a way to sub-categorize within a company, i.e. Sales, Marketing, Client Support - but I was able to create my own fields to do that.

Good product, integration not so much
I really wanted this to be the way we captured customer data but the lack of a native method to integrate with QuickBooks was a deal breaker in the end. It positions itswlf as being able to do so but it doesn't mention that other companies software is required and it'll cost more.
Full disclosure: We moved on to a different all in one solution from DocketManager in the end. While we still use QuickBooks, and I wish we could integrate directly, the other options that DM brought to the table outweighed the integration issue. Insightly only offered CRM while DM offered inventory, costing, and e-commerce all in one.

A great CRM tool for the small aspiring business.
Its great at what it does, just make sure you know its not going to fix everything.
Vorteile
This software is really well supported, great features and is so easy to use. We recommend it a lot to customers but don't use it because it is great for generics but terrible for a niche.
Nachteile
Good luck getting it to do what you want when you are in an obscure niche that requires a few custom fields and conditional logic. Perhaps this has gotten better since our last run in with it.

Powerful entry-level CRM option for small businesses
Vorteile
I love their free starter plan. It gives entrepreneurs a chance to jump in and learn what a CRM is and how to use one to grow their business. A CRM is a long-term investment and it takes time to see the monetary results of its use. Having a starter account allows businesses to make the time investment without it being overly expensive.
Nachteile
I started using it as my first attempt at CRMs and, having never used a CRM before, the workflows were not always clear and it was easy for me to get confused about what the different types of objects were and how they all interconnect. I felt that other CRMs live Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics CRM do a better job demonstrating recommended flows from the menus.

Great Gmail Based CRM
We found that it works great, but ended up continuing to test other software and haven't pulled the trigger on anything quite yet.
Vorteile
Keeping all relevant customer related data in one location. The tight Gmail integration is excellent to getting the needed info into Insightly quickly.
Nachteile
The pricing seems a little high for smaller companies. There's a free tier, but to get functions, like storage, etc, that are needed, the per user pricing can add up quickly.

Inherited this software, not my first choice
Vorteile
It was what the company had always used, so we had figured out how to make it work for what we needed.
Nachteile
The UI isn't nice looking at all. Lots of bugs and glitches, and when contacting Customer Service, a lot of the answers were "We're not sure why it's not working..." VERY expensive for what we need. There is NO way to easily search information.

This software is a great investment and allows for organization for various things all at once.

Hot Dang This Is A Good Tool
I've used various other tools like Insightly and well, this is by far my favorite. It is so easy to use, has an attractive interface, and doesn't have too many complicated features. I would definitely say yes if anyone asked if they should use this tool.
Vorteile
So Simple! Your child could figure out how to use this tool after playing with it for 30 seconds. I love the fact that I can tie in emails to particular projects or clients. This helps me keep a database all within one place.
Nachteile
The sales side of things could use some spicing up. I'm coming from using Salesforce (Not a fair comparison) but I'm used to a much deeper and more intuitive process for my sales flow.

Good Idea, could be better executed
I have used Insightly for over a 6 months. Does a lot of things well, for it to be intergrated with Gmail you need to download google for work apps and start another account and I find the whole process quite mind numbing with very minimal support. Since I also needed to contact my hosting site a few other steps.
The user interface is very clunky when you go to an "opportunity," the dash board should show a preview of notes, a preview of the email and some other glance able information. However, In sightly forces you to click the different tabs to find the information that you need, which when compounded with the amount of leads you have gets pretty annoying

Not ready for market
I’m looking to switch of Insightly.
Vorteile
Pricing is manageable but that is where it stops. I have paid for upgraded packages and training only to find out the PC & Mobile software don’t work together. 80% of my employees use the mobile app. No Dashboards, duplicates contacts and when you remove 1 of the duplicated contacts, it erases all of them from the Mobile and PC software.
No sense of urgency from Insightly.
Nachteile
PC software does not work correctly with their Mobile Software. Mobile software duplicates contacts then deletes your contacts.
We paid an up charge for the new package and features only to find out they don’t work on the mobile software??? Smartphones???

Great alternative to Salesforce
Vorteile
Email transparency, Google Mail/Apps integration, easy project management, great data structure (people, accounts, opportunities, etc), and a very non-invasive interface have had an incredible impact on our business. The constant updates and new features have further improved our capabilities over time. Also, the pricing is amazing.
Nachteile
Reporting is currently focused primarily on the sales/opportunity side of the product, with the project management functionality having minimal reporting capabilities (for now).

Brand New User
We solved the problem of moving from working on an in-house built CRM combined with spreadsheets to a more dynamic, one-stop shop CRM that combines tasks and opportunities.
Vorteile
Key for us was the ability to tag. I looked at many CRMs and talked to sales reps as well and the tagging system in ZD for our purposes made this the best choice.
Nachteile
We've noticed that it does not automatically refresh notes entered which may just be a first world problem but is frustrating when working on a team. It would also be great to keep all notes in all areas, orgs, tasks, and opportunities, instead of confining the notes to the individual portal.

A good tool for CRM
It's a good tool for the sales and marketing team to use when collaborating on projects. The sales team can use Insightly to keep a track of all the sales activities and see where a prospective client is placed on the sales cycle. The marketing team can use Insightly to update more information on prospective clients after carrying out a series of marketing activities. It is a great project management tool.

Vorteile
We were looking for something to help with our e-mail marketing so we tried the free trial. I can see the value this tool would add to our team, for sure.

Affordable and practical CRM
Our company has started to use Insightly as our CRM and have had good experience with the software. Our only wish is to have email, chat or phone customer service. The only provision available is online blog questions.

Like but don't love Insightly
Really like Insightly, but would like to see 'built-in' email functions. I use Insightly for Gmail extension, so I can do may Insightly functions from Gmail. This works well & offers most aspects of working directly from Insightly.
