Worth the Switch!
Salesforce is the best there is.

Much Improved from Classic
I used Salesforce Lightning Platform as a customer support lead at a software company. I used it to respond to questions from clients and track interactions and resolutions.
Vorteile
The Lightning Platform is a much cleaner and easier to use version of Salesforce than Salesforce Classic. It looks more modern and it overall more intuitive.
Nachteile
Some features I expect from Salesforce Classic aren't available on Lightning, so I have to switch back to Classic to use them. That's very annoying and makes projects take longer.

Easy to Use
Vorteile
Easy to configure and enter data. I love the reporting abilities and at a glance dashboards for easy live time review.
Nachteile
I wish the hierarchy set up for affiliate relationships was a bit more user friendly. Partner relationship can be complicated and sometimes with multiple partner contracts it makes it difficult to report and associated opportunities.

Salesforce Lightning Experience
I will not be using the Lightning Platform and would rather use the Classic Salesforce platform. Lightning does not seem to have better functionality or layout.
Vorteile
This software hosts a new layout for the Salesforce platform. It was implemented in 2019 and is supposed to be an updated and more functional version of the Salesforce layout
Nachteile
I do not think this version of Salesforce and layout is functional at all. It is actually much more difficult to maneuver than the regular Salesforce classic platform.

Great for Aggregating Users
Overall I would highly recommend.
Vorteile
I use this software at my company to manage international resellers and it's great with aggregating their information so only users in certain territories can see their mutually shared content.
Nachteile
Reporting features are rather limited and difficult to navigate. I also find we use a third party emailing tool for easy access.

Much cleaner to read than the old platform.
Overall it felt non-disruptive to our workflow as the third party and we've been able to make updates at our own pace rather than being tethered to whatever backend we are building on top of.
Vorteile
The progress ribbon on leads makes it much easier for us as a third-party vendor to see the full process that our client who utilizes this software has made process changes to. It also was a seamless transition from our perspective as the service we had created using the older platform is still working and simply funnels leads into this new endpoint now.
Nachteile
Documentation still feels hard to find with regard to how exactly SOAP vs REST are handled and differentiated so it took a bit of research to get our heads around what exactly was the norm when developing applications for the overall SF platform vs just this new one.

The Lightning Platform is a great concept but its Clunky
Vorteile
I love the full features that you can get out of the platform. It really is intuitive and houses much of the things that makes SFDC really great right inside of this platform. Chatter works well, tabs are accessible and search is very robust.
Nachteile
Its slow, For whatever reason It always seems to be catching up to itself. I wish it were lighter on its feet and just snapped to the information that you dropped into it.

Not Sure Why We Waited to Get on Lightning
Vorteile
The time saved using Lightning has been incredible. Workflows and reduction in hunting for information on customer and activity records has been a huge help. The increase in the ability to customize the UI for Lightning is also a huge plus.
Nachteile
Some of the reporting functionality still reverts back to the old/classic interface which is disappointing but I'm assuming they are going to upgrade that in a later release.

Vorteile
Well that it is cloud ready and has Einstein (the AI based flagship from SFA). The dropdown for recent, All and My pages in all leads, Ops etc is quite helpful in reviewing the data. Also the Dashboards can be built quite rapidly.
Nachteile
To make use of the high speed of the application, a very high end data speed is required which is mostly not available for sales people who are on the go especially in non wifi areas/remote locations/ while travelling.

Favorite CRM Period!
Vorteile
Salesforce has been our favorite CRM for so many reasons over the years. It's been absolutely critical to building a strong foundation in our organization with building our customer relationships. Hands down this is the best!
Nachteile
I had a bit of issues initially getting set up. At the same time it felt like the sales rep was unable to help with technical issues, and their support line was limited. Still, this was just a small hiccup as we launched forward with speed right after!

State of the Art Dashboards & Reporting
As the salesforce classic platform is going away, we are slowly switching to lightning. We use the platform to manage accounts, user stories and test results, and create reports and dashboards.
Vorteile
The ability to create and customize dashboards is much improved in this platform vs. salesforce classic. The features for report creation and the ability to create custom filters for reports is also better than the previous platform. The platform allows you to create interactive, professional looking dashboards for any of the data stored in salesforce . It provides the ability to create executive summary dashboards with the ability to drill down to obtain specific details.
Nachteile
I prefer the layout for account and user management in the classic version. The layout is a lot different in this platform and takes time to adapt.

Behemoth, slow and clunky and not built for speed
They don't market to non-profits, so don't use them. They are built for sales, not non-profits.
Vorteile
Biggest CRM on the market. If you are doing high-volume sales, then sure, they are helpful. Their app is nice.
Nachteile
Reporting is a nightmare. Moves management is non-existent. COnstantly had to find workarounds to get it to do what I wanted.

Ease of use, plenty of training and very obvious functionality. Additionally there are so many different ways to measure and track successes and/or losses that you'll always know where you are in the sales process and how effective you are at utilizing your processes.
Nachteile
Very expensive, unfortunately there are many competitors with more cost-effective pricing. Sometimes the website can run slowly because everything is stored remotely on the cloud.

Mobile App really needs improvement
I use Salesforce (desktop) every day for my job to maintain my territory at the leading SaaS company (global, 1500+ employees). However, there are many times that I need access to Salesforce when I'm on the go, and this app is horrible.
Vorteile
Gives you visibility, although it may be slow and glitch often.
Nachteile
Cannot edit anything on the mobile app. If I am constantly editing things on my desktop version during the day, why wouldn't I also need to edit things on the go?

Lightning give salesforce an updated log and some additional features. It’s nice to look at, and it also seems easier to learn/use effectively.
Nachteile
While it does look nice, I didn’t notice any other substantial changes from another salesforce platform to lightning. Unless you specifically need it for something, I’m not sure if it’s worth paying extra.

I do find it a bit more intuitive than Classic. My homepage has exactly what I need. The look is clean and not as cluttered. I love the reporting much more!
Nachteile
It takes a little bit of time to get used to the changes but they are for the best. Somethings won't be the same as Classic or where you remember them but I find it much more user intuitive.

Using Salesforce successfully as a front end for our customers to connect with.
Vorteile
Salesforce Lightning Platform provided a very clean interface to setup for our customers to log into and update and/or submit their information. It was successfully integrated with our legacy systems and even the complicated business rules are handled in a clean way. Once created our employees are also able to login but only complete very basic tasks, for complicated items our legacy system is still used. Overall the process has been smooth.
Nachteile
The system still has a few bugs, a little over a year after launch, and sometimes goes down, but this maybe due to the connections with legacy systems. There were few items added to start but over time the integration team has been adding more functionality.

Not great with analytics
CRM System keeping clients organized.

It is an easy to navigate program. Rolling over calls to the next day needs to be a feature. It is fairly easy to use

pulling reports are hard. I am not sure if that is because of how my company set up the system or not. If I want to send an email campaign blast out it is very confusing and therefore walk away from it

I love the new platform and the drastic upgrade it is from the OG Salesforce.
Vorteile
The reports look absolutely amazing! It makes you feel like you are actually working in 2018, and not the 90's!

If I had to say one thing bad about the lightning platform, it would be that some things don't function exactly the same as the OG layouts, and there are a few nuances about how the page layouts are.

A forced upgrade with issues
I don't like that we are being forced to switch to Lightning. My colleagues and I all liked the old platform just fine, and have found Lightning to be glitchy. Overall this forced upgrade has been very inconvenient for us.
Vorteile
It's hard for me to find something positive to say here, as my colleagues and I were all pretty happy with the old platform. I can say that we have used Salesforce for a long time and have found it reliable and easy to use.
Nachteile
The calendar is pretty awful now. We relied heavily on the old calendar and have had to shop around for third party plugins that will enable us to do what we need to do. We're still working on this.

Great features, need additional training
Vorteile
This software has a ton of options and features available. It's pretty seamless to integrate this with the sales team. We cna automate out entire marketing plan. It's nice we are able to put in parameters from the marketing director and load it into his dashboard.
Nachteile
The first few weeks were really confusing! This has a steep learning curve and required a lot of training. It wasn't as simple as I thought it would have been. However, once I've had some training I've gotten used ot the interface. It's just not as simple as I thought it would be.

Great CRM Platform! Only Minor Grievances
Vorteile
I love the ability to run reports based on different selections of data and have the reports pull accurate information. All too often, I have had CRM's in the past that would provide inaccurate data despite searching for correct fields.
I also really like the ease of use to edit records on the fly. Very convenient
Nachteile
I don't always like that I have to click through so many tabs in order to get the information that I needed. I wish there were spots to create shortcuts, and maybe there is, but our company does not utilize them...
