Ecwid's admin panel makes it super easy to set up an online shop. Even better, if you're already using a Wordpress site, you can quickly add that shop to your site without having to plug in any number of WooCommerce plugins and extensions that you'd need to do everything that Ecwid has already done for you. Another bonus is the ability to give clients a way to log in and manage their shop without having to log into their website. Many of my clients are way too nervous to log into their live site, but feel perfectly comfortable logging in to a more focused shop-only dashboard.

Early on, there were a few nuances I didn't like, but the service has come a long way in terms of development over the past few years, leaving me with nothing on my list of things I don't like.

What I liked most about this software is that it’s perfect for those wanting to setup an online shop but are limited with their budget or currently don’t have the necessary funds to support a month to month plan offered by many other e-commerce solutions.

What I liked least about this software is the lack of video tutorials and training available to consumers as compared to other major e-commerce platforms.

I chose Ecwid over these other alternative products simply because of its free pricing schedule and the fact that along with being free it also offered many of the same features as its competitors.

I wanted to help a client be able to get their products online and selling in a short amount of time. Ecwid makes the process as simple as possible to get business started. Also, the good and clean design is easy on the eyes.

Nachteile

So far, I have not encountered any major flaws for the needs of a small business. If you were looking to build an e-commerce site for a bigger business, there may not be enough features to support the volume of products to be uploaded to the site.

We use this for our Church's ladies retreat and it makes setting up the ordering process for our attendees very easy. Could be used for a variety of businesses and services!

I like that it is really easy to setup and add to website. I set this up as I was building a website for a client. After I added the code to the website, the client can now edit and add/remove items from the website store using the Ecwid web interface without touching any of the code.

The feature to add all of the items to the website at once instead of one by one is a little hard to find. There is no clear path and I have to click around a few times to find that feature.

Great customer support, and it essentially makes one store for multiple online store platforms. Can use connected to Square payments as well. Best used as an order receiving software. Very easy setup compared to other e-commerce stores, no coding required on your store platforms.

This feels like a software that you only use if you have low volume of sales. The free version does not have the functionality or design for a large volume of customers.
