Easy to use

Great Tool

An Amazing Platform to Use
For over a year now, this portal has been very effective for board management, meetings, etc.
Vorteile
Onboard is very user friendly and a great tool for board management. It was very easy to learn and the tutorials were awesome.

OnBoard is worth the expense
Having a single location to allow for collaboration without having to use Dropbox, Messages, iChat, Google Docs, etc. makes a meeting go so much smoother. And I no longer need to print out hundreds of pages of documents for in-hand. And the Board members feel secure with the privacy and security that this system affords them.
Vorteile
This management software, now that I, as an administrator, have gone through the training, is easy to manage and easy to access from the board member's perspective. It provides shortcuts that allow for easy use, especially as it relates to minutes. I can create templates that shortens the administrative time needed.
Nachteile
There are some features to which one needs to adapt, but the team is very responsive to needs and offers the best work around for your particular needs.

OnBoard is a must have for meetings in a digital age
Paper, ink, and printer fatigue are the first savings we've enjoyed. Changes to the agenda last minute have been easily to upload where everyone can see it minutes after uploading it. Lastly, the time savings (and paper cuts) staff and the admin have from not having to do paper copies anymore has been considerable and very worthwhile. Security of the app is also great.
Vorteile
The ability to meet and view agendas in the OnBoard app has been critical to the bank. In the past if staff or Directors were remote, hard copy items had to be mailed at great expense to them and if there were last minute changes, those people didn't have the right documents to review. Now everything is seamlessly in one spot, organized to perfection, easy to access, and easy for the admin to upload new and revised documents so everyone can view the current information. The time savings from having to print everything is enough to pay for the system and devices to access the meetings.
Nachteile
This has less to do with the software and more to do with some of the features in the app are not easily understood by some older members of the Board that are not used to the technology updates. There really isn't an issue I have that OnBoard hasn't thought of and implemented.

Upgrading our Board Management software to achieve greater engagement
Experience has been excellent. The quality of the product is high, and the customer support superb. We were aiming to create a true board portal that is the first place the member go when they want information, through the resources, tasks functionality. Too much back and forth emailing of information was occurring. We wanted to change the way the board worked, and needed the best technology as a platform for enforcing such change.
Vorteile
The rich functionality of OnBoard, compared to our prior solution, sold us. A bit more expensive, but worth it. Since we are being force to transition to a new platform by our prior provider, we used the opportunity to license a best of breed solution, where the employees are clearly committed to their products.
Nachteile
There was a bit of learning curve, especially with the Member database, establishing groups, and roles, etc..

Fantastic Customer Support and a Great Tool
We used to send out a stream of emails before board meetings with many, many reports attached to each email. It was frustrating to manage as the administrator of the meetings and I have to imagine it was equally frustrating to receive and manage as a Trustee. I love that I can upload all of the reports to the OnBoard portal and they're easily accessible once I've published them. And when last minute additions or corrections come in (as they always do), I can just update the book in real time. It's revolutionized how our board functions.
Vorteile
It's easy to pick up and fairly intuitive to navigate (there have been many improvements in the year+ that I've been using OnBoard and they've increased the ease of use even further). Most of our board members found it easy to learn and use.
Nachteile
There is sometimes a lag in the typing and/or saving that's a little frustrating.

OnBoard is the best board management software around
OnBoard has made my board management process easier. My implementation manager [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is always checking in to see if I need help and making sure that I am aware of new or other features of the platform that are available to me. I am very satisfied!
Vorteile
I love using OnBoard for my board management. It is the "go to" place for all of our governance documents, meeting calendars, meeting agendas and attachments. It also allows the members of my board to communicate with each other and with staff management easily and seamlessly. It's super-easy to look back at previous documents, policies, minutes, etc.
Nachteile
At this point, I really don't have anything that I DON'T like about the software.

Nachteile
again, it's probably user error - so this may or may not be an issue - excel spreadsheets seem to not load well and are hard to read. It's probably an issue on our end, but creates for lengthy books for our meetings..

Onboard Review
Vorteile
Easy upload and access. Easy access from Agenda to move quickly to presentation piece.
Nachteile
Have to close and open packages when updates are added. Board/committee members that read and leave open their package before a meeting don't realize they haven't seen a section that was added.
Inability to take minutes directly in the application.
Notes moved to another PDF on the Agenda from where it was originally made. Sometimes notes disappear and came back when logging in again.
Updates cause touch ID to be turned off in application.
Updates lose page preference settings and also each time you re-open documents in resources. Our organization prefers "Single Page Presentation" - would be better in user settings instead of having to change view in the document. In resources must change each document.

Good and secure meeting portal for distributed teams or groups
Nearly four years ago, our Board of Directors became geographically dispersed across multiple states which made dissemination of report packets via paper or non-portal electronic means impossible in a safe manner. OnBoard immediately solved this information security problem and also eliminated the needless wasting of many trees.
Vorteile
The product is easy to use and you can start your first meeting on the portal after just a couple days of setup for your groups and users (our total number of users across all groups is about 12 so more users will require additional setup time). It is very easy to build meetings with agendas and uploading documents is very easy.
Nachteile
All Adobe Acrobat bookmarks and markups including highlighting, comments, and added text are stripped out and lost when these documents are uploaded. Highlighting and added text (but not comments) can be retained if the original Acrobat documented is printed to a separate Adobe Acrobat file and then uploaded.

A solution to a long term problem
Overall we have had a great experience with OnBoard. The time saved by bank personnel in creation, maintenance and archiving of the board reports has been in my opinion well worth the cost.
Vorteile
The ability to make changes to our board package "on the fly" is a very big advantage. This keeps us from having to make changes and providing directors updated packages right before the meetings. Also, not having to deliver the package pre-meeting is a big help. The security functions seem to be very appropriate to secure our information.
Nachteile
Not having the ability for the meeting leader to "drive" the meeting to ensure all members are on the same page during the meeting is a little bit of downside. Hopefully that is something that can be considered in the future. Viewing the meetings on a regular sized iPad is a little difficult for some of our directors. They typically view the meeting information on their desktops or laptops at home and then either follow along during the meetings on their iPads or view the projection from the leader. Since our outside directors typically only use their iPads for their monthly meetings they quite often have password problems which in some cases bank personnel has to help with. Not a major issue but one to keep in mind.

Great value to our Board
WONDERFUL customer support with comprehensive training initially for the administrators, and very user friendly training for each member of our Board.
Vorteile
One repository for our directory to stay connected with one another, the important documents that the Board needs to stay connected, should be a wonderful tool to help with orientation of new Board members as we enter the next calendar year.
Nachteile
Learning the various permissions and controls, making decisions about who has what permissions - - not a negative re: OnBoard itself, but required multiple decisions about how to establish each Board member's portfolio,

Five Year User of OnBoard
Prior to using OnBoard, I was printing, collating, tabbing and binding fifteen Board Packages per month. This program has helped reduce the amount of paper being used and has significantly reduced the amount of time it takes to prepare/build the Board Package.
We also use OnBoard for various committee meetings and management team meetings. We currently have 25 users.
Vorteile
Software is very user friendly. When first utilizing this program, I was able to set up all users and start building agendas and uploading files with very little assistance from customer support.
Nachteile
At this time, I do not have anything that I dislike about this package.
A few of our older Board members are not necessarily fond of using a mobile device (iPad) to following along in meetings. For those members, I do still print a package when needed.

OnBoard Made My Job A Lot Easier
Our experience has been nothing but positive. From the first reach out by [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] right through to the customer service outreach with [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]
Vorteile
Onboard is such a simple and intuitive product. As soon as I received access to the product I was able to log in and immediately start building the portal to suit our needs. We had a board meeting very shortly after signing on - I was able to build and circulate the agenda and board materials within the first day of implementing the product.
Nachteile
I have not received any complaints from the board members. All board members found it very simple to login and maneuver around the portal.

Board Operational Success
Awsome. The staff loves it and the board loves it.
Vorteile
We have an enjoyed every aspect that we have used thus far with the OnBoard platform. From meeting communications, to reminders, to board meeting agenda, to document sharing...we have found this platform to be a time saver and credit OnBoard with greatly improving our board commuications, board meetings and board functions. Trainings for Board and Staff have been wonderful.

Nachteile
No issues at the moment. We have a few board members that have not signed in yet and that makes communications difficult but not a fault of OnBoard.

Onboard Review
Time savings on putting together board packets is wonderful. No comparison to paper. It's easy to use.
Vorteile
The ease to upload and change out updated docs at the last minute is great. The ability to download then entire book into a pdf is great too.
Nachteile
It's not that the software is difficult, it's getting older users to be able to login with their email and password and use the product to it's full functionality that I continue to struggle with and this is not something that support can fix. They have offered to do a training. Also, in the past - only users were able to change their passwords, now I think admin users can change passwords or initiate a password change and that is good.

OnBoard is the answer to efficiency
I think OnBoard is great. It has helped me to be more efficient when it comes to getting our meeting packet to our board members each month. I can assign other individuals in the bank to upload their documents into the book, I don't have to upload everything. I can notify everyone with one click that the agenda/book is available for review. All the board members have one secure location to access the board packet; rather than sifting through tons of emails to find the one I sent to them.
Vorteile
The ease of use. I love that I can just drag and drop my documents into OnBoard. I don't have to browse for them. I love that I can keep adding documents to the book right up until the start of the meeting. It is very easy for my non-technical staff to use. The support staff at OnBoard is excellent. Everyone has been very helpful and very timely. Every time I've had a question, I had the answer easily within 30 min of emailing them.
Nachteile
The voting is a very nice feature. It is just a little cumbersome for my board to use. It takes them to a different screen to vote, then they have difficulty getting back to the book. When we have multiple agenda items to vote on, they also get a little confused as to which view approval to click. If that could be reworded to say vote for approval of "name of approval item". We usually have about 10 different items to vote on during each board meeting.
Another feature I would like to see is maybe an option to have minutes created after the meeting with who approved, denied or abstained from the voting in each item.

Very intuitive board portal
Using OnBoard has improved the process of document distribution and creation. The two-factor authentication feature was critical for our organization.
Vorteile
Our Board was "on board" with the portal immediately - the interface is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. Having our directors use the portal was the most crucial criterion for adoption. There is no perceived value for an app extensively used by our organization's administration but not by our Directors. Customer service and support have been outstanding. The two-factor authentication won us over - it's easy to use and addresses our security concerns.
Nachteile
There are little things but nothing I would consider major: I would love to customize our agenda to include our logo, I would love for the app to convert to pdf each individual document included in the Board book.

OnBoard - Easy to use and saves time
It is very easy to use and helps report generators to save time. The admin functionality is extremely user friendly and the product is easy to use for boards of all ages. This product has saved a lot of board meeting prep time, improved on the ease of getting information to board members, allows for more information to be made readily available and able to go back to information previously presented. The system allows for a secure method of getting private information to members that need to review information to make sound business decisions.

OnBoard Passageways Portal
The product is top notch and the customer service is really good.
Vorteile
It's very easy to use. Security is a big concern for us. With the information being on a controlled server, the encryption it uses, and the security requirements that exist to get into the app, that risk is greatly mitigated. We have a lot of control, and can manage users, including wiping a device or shutting it down if needed. We have unlimited space for usage.
Nachteile
There were a few little features we didn't like at first but those were in process of being updated. Right now, it works very well for us.

Very user friendly and intuitive.
Overall OnBoard is an excellent tool with which to manage our board meetings. It is easy to learn and functions flawlessly most of the time. On the few occasions where we have had a technical issue, the tech support was very helpful and efficient.
Vorteile
Onboard makes compiling various documents into one cohesive board package simple. It allows me to work on the presentation as different reports come in rather than having to gather all of the information together and then sort and combine all the documents at once.

I really don't dislike anything about it.

Staley Credit Union - OnBoard Review - November 2019
SCU has been using this product for the last 8 years. We have experienced several upgrades and have definitely benefited from this product. Would not want to return to the days of paper copies.
Vorteile
No longer a need for any paper copy. Ease of use. I compile at least 4 board/committee packets per month and this product works very well for SCU.
Nachteile
Initially, (8 years ago) a little cumbersome, but that is no longer any issue....may have been "operator" issue also!!!

Fully Engaged Board Members!
So far my overall experience with OnBoard has been great. It has benefited our Board meetings, and has made everyone more engaged.
Vorteile
What I personally love about this software is the ability to do everything electronically and no paper is needed! I also love the drag and drop feature when composing the agenda which makes things so much easier and faster. The board members are able to see everything in real time and there is no more waiting and having to have 100's of sheets of papers that will eventually just end up going in the trash. Board members are more engaged during the meetings and are able to annotate their notes right on the screen. I also like that I can see who will be attending or not attending in advance vs scrambling at the last minute sending out e-mails.
Nachteile
At this time, I don't have any negative feedback.

OnBoard helps with ease of board administration
The customer service has been outstanding!
Vorteile
OnBoard helps give our board access to documents and provides reminders. However, my favorite features are how it assists in my role as Executive Director. It is easier to load and build board materials across our 5 locations. I also really like the Directory feature. I'm looking forward to using the motion and vote feature as our board feels more comfortable.
Nachteile
OnBoard is receptive and responsive to feedback and changes, so even areas that we struggled with were updated. Like any technology, to be successful it takes some time to set up and organize initially. The only downside is the heavy permissions based by user. This may be key for some businesses, but it is harder for us to manage administratively for our size and scope of organization.

OnBoard Software
We have gone completely paperless with our meetings and everyone loves the note taking ability within the app.
Vorteile
The software is very user friendly and very easy to use, even for older users. And the support is excellent.
Nachteile
I guess the only complaint would be that the program does not automatically refresh as new information is added. If someone has the program open, before new data is added, they must exit and re-enter the program to view the new information.

Meeting materials are easy to build for staff members and easy to access for board members. Allows for a terrific collaboration process.

Can't think of a least favorite aspect of the software. It's easy to use and very cost effective.

OnBoard Promotes Efficiency
We use OnBoard for all Board meetings, Committee meetings and Approvals. It creates efficiency as we longer have to prepare paper packages, distribution is electronic and it is our permanent archive.
Vorteile
The ease of implementation/very user friendly.

The interface with Outlook has been problematic.

A useful product
Overall, I am happy with the product mainly because of the reduction in time and paper used.
Vorteile
This product saves me a lot of time and paper because I don't have to print out reports for regular meetings. I have become familiar with more features during this pandemic period because most of our board members and a few of our loan officers can attend the meetings remotely. It is very easy to put documents out there for their online approval.
Nachteile
Sometimes it seems like when I/we get used to one feature, there will be an update and we have to learn it all over again. This is really the only con that I can offer.

Recommend this sofrware!
My experience with OnBoard has been positive. The customer service representatives are very helpful and always there to jump on a call and help you to solve things, as well as keep you up to date with new things that are being offered or training classes to learn more about different things that can be utilized in OnBoard. They are very sensitive to the times that we are in, with the COVID19 pandemic, and have been helpful in sending resources, etc.
Vorteile
This software is very user friendly and easy to understand and use. Their customer service is always there to help you and to answer any questions or concerns that you have. One of my favorite things is that when you are uploading resources, you can upload several at at time.
Nachteile
There have been a few things that I was like oh man I wish this was easier or this is a lot of work, but then literally for every one of those I later found out that there was an easier way, so there isn't really anything I can say that I don't like with this software. I am very new at using it, so there is a lot more to learn and to try, and we have more integrating to do, but so far so good.

Great tool for engagement!
OnBoard has always been quick to help without any follow up. They have allowed us to increase our meeting productivity with ease.

Timesaver
Vorteile
OnBoard saves me a ton of time by making it easy to build a Board meeting. It also shortens the Board meetings by allowing members to review minutes and policies ahead of time. We now focus more conversation on strategic plans versus explaining meeting minutes and policies.
Nachteile
The software auto-saves the meetings so frequently that it interrupts your workflow. It is a small irritation for the assurance that your work is saved.

It’s very user friendly, efficient, with a professional feel to it. We no longer needs an extra person for keeping minutes now.

The price. Although I think we got a good price for the product, as a nonprofit that survives off of private donations only, the price always matters.

OnBoard Improved our Organizational Governance
Vorteile
The simplicity of OnBoard is its strongest feature. I manage the governance of 10 boards and committees within our organization. The implementation was seamless and users of all demographics have been able to transition easily. I also appreciate the ongoing education they offer through monthly webinars. They also release new product features often and stay up to date on what their customers need.
Overall, OnBoard is a highly effective system that does exactly what we need it to do, without a ton of unnecessary features.
Nachteile
You can track attendance per meeting, but I wish OnBoard could compile attendance over a certain timeframe.

Conexus Indiana
We like OnBoard because we are able to share secure documents with our board members. If a board member leaves or quits the board I am able to easily deactivate their account and they will no longer be able to access those documents.
Vorteile
The thing I like most is the permissions settings. You can upload documents and only make them visable to certain groups or members. I find this is the most helpful when managing different groups of people on OnBoard.
Nachteile
Sometimes I find it confusing to figure out who can see certain things I upload. The permissions is one of my favorite features but at the same time I find it difficult to change them sometimes. For our board meeting we make 1 large powerpoint. In order for the powerpoint to be uploaded to OnBoard I have to separate it out by agenda item so that is a bit tedious.

So Happy with OnBoard!
Vorteile
The ease of use of OnBoard and being able to train others will minimal difficulties has been incredible. It has also become a very valuable tool to store all of our Board of Trustees meeting information and resources. No more paper copies! OnBoard has made this whole process so smooth and seamless and the support from our account rep, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], is the icing on the top. She is always there to help, train, coach, etc.
Nachteile
I truly have not found anything I do not like about the software. And, every time an update to the system comes out, its even better.

An effective Board Management software that gets the job done
It has been a pleasure working with the Onboard team, they did a good Job in holding our hand throughout this process and the software has helped relive us of some of the duties that were time consuming

Love how easy it is to use even for those who are not already familiar to the software.

A Text notification feature would be a nice Add-on but I understand that this is something that can be easily requested for.

OnBoard Review
My overall experience is positive. The only challenge we have is not a software issue. It is simply an issue of getting all board members to utilize the program.
Vorteile
The software is very easy to use for our board members. The capability of sharing documents with the entire group and the ease of downloading the packet for print.
Nachteile
My team has mentioned that sometimes adding people to a group can be difficult. But overall we have been satisfied.

Customer Service is the BEST!!!

Vorteile
I wish I could rank OnBoard's customer service higher than 5 stars! I couldn't be happier with their training and customer support. Their top level folks have taken the time to have conversations with some of our board members for input. The system is seamless when board members come with their IPads or use our tablets. Preparing for board meetings has never been easier from a staff perspective and we are definitely saving time, money and trees by using OnBoard.
Nachteile
Some of our board members still want to print documents so I've had to show them how to download the document (which is easy) and then they can print whatever they like.

Board Packages
Very satisfied and great experiences using platform for board meetings.
Vorteile
I have great customer service experiences. I have one person I can always go to for questions, and then if he doesn't know he'll get me the person who can. He's very on top of training or asking if I have any questions about the new features. We will be training our board members here soon on the new features thanks to our reps willingness to help.
Nachteile
If you make a mistake after publishing you can't always fix it without re-releasing it to all members involved.

Better than paper!
It is wonderful to be able to quickly update the meeting agenda a packet materials. It would be better if board members would use the RSVP feature so we know if we have a quorum, but members have been slow to catch on to the importance of that for the clerk. I am not very computer literate so I enjoy how easy this product is to use.
Vorteile
OnBoard has made moving to paperless meetings an easy process. I can quickly adjust each meeting's agenda and board members have easy access to the most up to date information for the meeting.
Nachteile
As our meetings moved to online platforms for social distancing we continue to use OnBoard for getting meeting information out to board members but are using Zoom in order to have public access to meetings. There are some features for board members to interact regarding documents but that could violate the open meetings act, so we do not use those features.
