OnBoard - Highly recommended by Nova CU!
We've used OnBoard for many years and love the product.
Vorteile
Document storage is critical as most of our financial reports have long term retention requirements.
Also, love the ease of use of the software. It has been very simple for our Board to access Board meeting documents every month.
Nachteile
Can't think of any aspect that we don't like.

OnBoard Board Portal
Our overall experience has been great. The team is always quick to respond with questions and help us with tips and tricks to most efficiently and effectively use the product. The meetings are easy to build and edit and secure. Exactly what we were looking for!
Vorteile
I love that you can drag files from your computer right into the board report. I also really liked that you can upload many different kinds of files. Other programs had to be PDF's, creating the need to print every file to a PDF and duplicating much of the work.
Nachteile
After a recent update the agenda composition isn't as easy as it used to be. You used to be able to delete rows right within each row. Now you have to select the row and click the delete button up top. We have also ran into some loading issues when our board packets get too big. We have been able to break up the packets into different meetings but it would be nice if we could have each packet in one meeting.

OnBoard and beyond
Passageways has been a great company to work with - I highly recommend them both for their product as well as service. They continue to evolve and stay on the leading edge, always with the user in mind.
Vorteile
Our purpose was to initially do away with paper board packets and create something that the Board and committees could access easily and at any time. Giving them the availability to use their board packets on an iPad was a great turning point in becoming more efficient with our Board and volunteers.
Nachteile
There were a few things we asked them to change and it was implemented into their updates quickly.

No More Paper!
We used to print huge board packets twice monthly and even mail some of them to out of town board members. We save time and money with OnBoard, plus feel it's more secure this way than with the printed packets. We now use OnBoard for all committee meetings - NO MORE PAPER!
Vorteile
There have been many upgrades since we started using this product. I love the ability to import an agenda rather than manually adding each line item. It greatly reduced the time in building a packet.
Nachteile
I would like to see the pricing based on asset size rather than having to sign an additional contract and pay separately every time a new employee is added. It would be nice to be able to be able to add temporary or ad hoc users so they can attend a specific meeting.

OnBoard Review
We are new to OnBoard, using it just with a beta group at our last board meeting. We intend a full roll-out to the board at our next meeting in a few months. I have been very impressed with the product so far. In addition, the support I've received as far as training goes has been very helpful in getting our portal established.
Vorteile
I like the ease of creating meetings and then making changes and edits to those meetings. Having changes updated immediately and for those changes to be readily available is very important to us as we go through our book building process. Before using OnBoard, something as minor as a meeting location change would require emails to committee members, etc. Now, we just have to update the meeting in OnBoard and the information is accurate and up-to-date.
Nachteile
I would like more controls when it comes to the PDF version of the board book. Having the ability to add a bookmark or something to a page, where you can access it in a flash, would be helpful. Maybe this option is available and I just haven't figured it out yet.

Robust but could be enhanced
Overall, OnBoard is a valuable tool due to its robust capabilities between housing archives as well as upcoming meetings in additional to providing a centralized location for important documents and resources.
Vorteile
Easy retrieval of information from past meetings is most beneficial.
Nachteile
When I'm looking at a prior meeting - anytime I exit out of that meeting I'm taken back to the current calendar rather than staying at that prior timeframe. Also, something like a drop-down to pick your timeframe you want to "jump" to would be much easier than needing to hit the back arrow over and over and over to get where you want to go.

Great Product at a Reasonable Price
Great product, great people. Really improved our overall process for preparing for Board and Executive Team meetings.
Vorteile
Easy to use product that streamlined the creation of our Board Package and has provided a secure way to get sensitive material to not only board members but members of the C suite as well. The ability to seamlessly add material to a meeting up to the last minute is alone worth the cost. Also you can tailor the material so it is only seen by those that need to see it. Easy to use -- you can train your administrative staff in a couple of hours on how to use the product, and you are off and running.
Nachteile
This is cloud based, so at times it takes the system a bit to save updates. You have to be very careful that you give it time or your changes are lost. Better annotation options would also improve the experience.

OnBoard Implementation
Very positive. Our staff is the biggest problem - they need to start using it! Nearly everyone is trained and we loved the accessibility of the training and how easy it is to schedule one and get questions answered.
Vorteile
Agendas and documents are easy to load and maintain.
Maintains calendar well and information disseminated easily.
Nachteile
Agenda features are very limited.
Permissions get too complicated for people. It would be nice to have one lead administrator overall to help people. Having to go through layers for permissions is time consuming.
I wish resources was easier to maintain.

Board Operational Success
Awsome. The staff loves it and the board loves it.
Vorteile
We have an enjoyed every aspect that we have used thus far with the OnBoard platform. From meeting communications, to reminders, to board meeting agenda, to document sharing...we have found this platform to be a time saver and credit OnBoard with greatly improving our board commuications, board meetings and board functions. Trainings for Board and Staff have been wonderful.

Nachteile
No issues at the moment. We have a few board members that have not signed in yet and that makes communications difficult but not a fault of OnBoard.

OnBoard for Nonprofit Board of Directors
Thus far, I have used OnBoard to house all of our Board of Director-related documents, including agendas, meeting minutes, corporate materials, financial statements, etc. I have also been able to organize and execute one BOD meeting using OnBoard, and I found it very functional in keeping my board well-informed and well-prepared for their discussion.
Vorteile
As the Director of our Board of Directors, it is vital that we have an easy way to communicate with our Board members, and that they have easy access to documents, links, and meeting minutes and agendas. The OnBoard platform ensures that everything can be found in one place and that communication with th entire Board can happen easily, especially in regards to critical action items.
Nachteile
The only hiccup I have run into thus far, is when adding actions or documents to agendas, I have to make sure that my Board has access to them, or that they are "invited to them. I feel like it would be easier if access was automatically granted to all invitees of an agenda when the action or resource was added. I hope this makes sense.

OnBoard is Wonderful
Our board is now able to spend more time strategizing and worrying about big picture because the administrative tasks are taken care of in advance.
Vorteile
It's easy to use, my documents are on my phone, it makes the board meetings more effective.
Nachteile
I've only disliked one thing about the product early on, but I told reprentative about it right away and the issue was fixed almost immediately.

OnBOard for the Board
This program is easy for our board members to view our board/meeting books and is nice they can have it wherever thy are at; phone, tablet or PC.
Vorteile
It was pretty easy to navigate once you learn the system.
Nachteile
Some of the navigation tools were hard to follow and remember how to use when only using them a few times every so often.

Easy to use Board Portal
It's been a positive experience overall for all parties involved.
Vorteile
The Passageways OnBoard solution was easy to implement and makes managing board and committee meetings a breeze. Transitioning from paper to an electronic packet created many efficiencies for the company allowing folks more time to focus on the content of the meeting instead of tasks associated with creating the meeting book.
Nachteile
Currently, they support integration with Zoom only. I am looking for integration to additional video conferencing solutions.

Great product and great price
We really love this product. It's great for the price and easy for our end-users and boardmembers alike to use it, many of whom are not tech savvy.
Vorteile
This product allows us to setup multiple groups for different committees, board meetings, shareholder meetings, etc. as well as has a cloud based document repository for keeping files like our BCP and various reports. It is easy to create a meeting, add the group that you want to attend and add the content that you will share during the meeting.
Nachteile
Occasionally run into problems with certain features/bugs, but we see a fast turnaround on bug fixes.

Features are limited, but overall good product
Vorteile
Everything is centralized in one place - calendar, announcements, board materials, etc.
Nachteile
I don't like that members cannot be invited to meetings through the software. For example, if I post a committee meeting and add the members that need to attend, OnBoard sends out a notification via email to the members that the meeting has been updated. This creates confusion because the members don't receive an invitation - just a notification that a meeting that may or not know about has been changed. I wish there was an option to invite members that would allow them to RSVP and add it to their calendars. When I called customer support, they told me that OnBoard is not set up to send invites and that I should use Outlook calendar. If OnBoard is to be our one-stop shop for all things board related, I should be able to do everything from it. The only way, currently, that members know about meetings is if they log on to OnBoard and look for themselves. Because of this, we are still having to invite them through Outlook and OnBoard is becoming an extra step for them to take to RSVP - they are busy people and don't see the purpose. It's essentially becoming obselete and not what we hoped it would be for us.

Helping our Board access information on the go!
My OnBoard experience has been exceptional. The entire process of developing and implementing was very collaborative with OnBoard and they assisted in every way possible to make sure it was a smooth rollout to our board members.
Vorteile
Our board was wanting a way to easily access documents and information. The app allows them to have all of this at their fingertips in a moments notice. We have a large board and sometimes when new members are brought on it's hard for other board members to recall their names when then see them out at events. Having the directory with profile pictures helps them make those personal connections. I also really like the new feature for tracking terms and roles of our board members.
Nachteile
I sometimes find it confusing when adding resource folders and the permissions carry over to new folders or documents.

Usability
In general, I feel very satisfied with the performance and with the security implemented.
Vorteile
Is a very secure software with a very intuitive Graphical User Interface. I think it covers everything that a Board of Directors requires to develop its functions.
I have the opportunity to require support from their Contact and Support Center, They answered properly and fast.
Nachteile
Some Bugs in its recent system upgrade, I reported to them and I'm waiting for the final solution

Great product

Vorteile
There are numerous things I like about this software! I appreciate how easy the software is to use. It has saved me hours of compiling paper documents for a board book. I can upload information as it comes to me in multiple file formats, and can reorganize the documents within the book effortlessly. When I first started using OnBoard, there were a few features that I had on my "wish list" (I wish it could do "x")--and the developers are so on top of things that I have seen many of my wishes come true as implemented features. They continually refresh the software to make it easier--not add extra steps like you can find with other software. And most of all, I value the immediate attention and service I receive from the team. They always pick up my call, and have an answer or solution ready.
Nachteile
There's a few minor things that could be tweaked, but overall it's an easy, clear and efficient system that has saved hundreds of hours and resource time and reduced the risk of mailing board books to members that live outside of our immediate area.

It is an easy portal to get used to and navigate through.
Vorteile
I like being able to move things around easier in an agenda. They have updated that feature and it is very helpful.
Nachteile
Not being able to have a template folder for agendas. I have to scroll to a past one and edit it or else write a new one each time I have a meeting.

OnBoard is a great board meeting sofware, easy to implement and use

1. We use the tab "Actions" for approval of time-sensitive items in between Board meetings.
2. we use the tab "Resources" as a library to retain all important documents we want the Board to access easily at their convenience.
3. The convenience of uploading board meeting packages with easy access for directors at any time from anywhere (phone, tablets, laptops, etc...)
4. use of annotations features on documents.
Nachteile
No meaningful things i don't like. Maybe the user interface on the homepage can be more attractive.

Onboard Review
Time savings on putting together board packets is wonderful. No comparison to paper. It's easy to use.
Vorteile
The ease to upload and change out updated docs at the last minute is great. The ability to download then entire book into a pdf is great too.
Nachteile
It's not that the software is difficult, it's getting older users to be able to login with their email and password and use the product to it's full functionality that I continue to struggle with and this is not something that support can fix. They have offered to do a training. Also, in the past - only users were able to change their passwords, now I think admin users can change passwords or initiate a password change and that is good.

Recommendation of OnBoard
Meeting materials are maintained in a secure environment with OnBoard and eliminates email and paper distribution which reduces security risks, saves money and time.
Vorteile
As administrator, OnBoard is an easy to use and intuitive tool which streamlines meeting book management, distribution and maintenance of records. The ability to quickly present time- sensitive items for electronic board approval and signatures has been critical.

Our Board Loves It
Overwhelmingly positive. I have received several comments from Board members within the first month about how intuitive it is to use and how much they enjoy it.
Vorteile
The ease of use to get each Board member registered and using the software has been great. Now they can see the meeting agendas and all pertinent reports, etc. without staff having to send attachments.
Nachteile
I'd like the ability to separate out staff and guests from actual Board members in the "Attendance" function.

It is easy to use, but can be challenging with all the updates.

OnBoard is great!
Overall experience is great! We use this software for our monthly board meetings and it has streamlined the process. We used to create a bunch of PDF files, then email via secure mail, then print a packet and carry to the meetings. Now, we just present the packet on a device of the board member's choice and go! Storage is great as well because it's contained within OnBoard and the members can keep their notes in their space also.
Vorteile
The software is very easy to use. Changing out documents when necessary is a snap. Publishing the book to the readers is easy as well. You can turn permissions on and off with the click of a mouse. Also, your readers can access the information from anywhere!
Nachteile
Maybe just learning the few tweaks would be the only negative - but that's with any software. Overall, I have no "cons" to mention. The customer support is awesome if you do get stuck.

Easy to use and set up Board Portal that is so much more
Overall very pleased. Wasn't complicated to learn initially and users have had very little trouble navigating it.

Great bang for the buck
Have used a much more expensive competitor before finding OnBoard and never looked back. The feature set is way better and advanced compared to the Board software we used before.

Lots of new features added frequently. Recently they added a way for Zoom to be embedded into the meetingbook. It has lots of features that make it easy for nontech individuals to use and comprehend the software

Password reset can be a big awkward but not a big deal.

Streamlining board documents, calendars, contact information, and so much more!
This service is incredibly helpful for centralizing all calendars, files, announcements, surveys, and more.
Vorteile
We now have all of the files board members need in one central depository. We have a vibrant calendar that not only tracks RSVPs, but also eliminates the need for outlook calendar invitations. We also enjoy keeping the announcements pages lively and up-to-date.
Nachteile
The small idiosyncrasies that are easy to miss like granting permissions, etc.

OnBoard is very user friendly for a variety of types of technology users.
It is cost effective and can be used in a very simple way or more customized for fuller integration with other systems.
The customer support is great as they are very responsive and friendly to work with and the online resources are also very helpful and easy to use.
Nachteile
Some suites have one or two elements that we would use but are only available in a bulk package at a set price so we can't fully pick and choose what we would use and not use.

My overall experience was and still IS amazing! The team is so responsive, my sales rep [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is amazing as well. He is not the guy that makes the sale and ignores you. He has kept in touch with me throughout the transition and is always responsive when I need him, if ever.
Vorteile
I love that the software is super user friendly. We used a different portal previous to this one and even my board had no trouble transitioning.
Nachteile
The only thing I would say is a little annoying is the wait for the book to be built. Once you have all the docs in the binder it has to build the book, which is understandable but I wish it was just a half a minute faster.

I went from dreading using it to really appreciating all it can do
The customer service reps have been outstanding when listening to what we are trying to explain and then giving us clear instructions on how to solve what we "thought" was an issue. We feel like we are so experienced now ourselves that we have even helped another local company that also chose OnBoard as their board portal with their first electronic board meeting.
Vorteile
When my company chose OnBoard versus 5 other products we evaluated, we chose it for its pricing, clean appearance for the end-user, ease of customizing the sections we wanted to style ourselves and also for the ease of creating our board books as administrators.
Nachteile
When we made the investment in the Passageways software we accepted the fact that maybe the OnBoard portal wasn't as "fancy" as some of the competition's portals. Where other providers might have had what looked like an easier process for the administrators to use, we soon became very confident in our ability to make the OnBoard portal work for us just as easily.

Very user friendly
OnBoard customer service is amazing. We were assigned an implementation manager and she was fantastic - super helpful and happy to help with training users. She also attended meetings to help make sure the implementation went smoothly and helped ensure we knew how to use the voting function (among other functions).
Vorteile
OnBoard is very easy to use and intuitive. Our board adapted to the tool very quickly and is finding the tool very useful and effective. It makes it much easier to share information with the board and for users to find the information for the next meeting and access everything for a meeting in one place.
Nachteile
One feature we would like to see added is the ability to have the functionality of word and excel within the tool. The annotation tool is really useful, but we could also use the ability to make actual edits/changes in word and excel. (So incorporating the Teams functionality within the tool).

User-friendly Program
My overall experience as administrator is great. The program is easy to use and the people using it normally don't have any issues.
Vorteile
Overall, OnBoard is very user-friendly. I am able to create meetings and download content easily. I like the ability to view past meetings and to download documents when needed. The ability to vote on items is a n added bonus.
Nachteile
When composing an agenda, an "undo" button would be nice. At times, I want to delete a section but keep the subsection information. However, when I delete the section, the subsections get deleted as well. Thus creating more work.
As administrator, I need to unlock passwords. I usually use my iPad when I'm at home (more often do to COVID-19) and am unable to do all of the administrative actions on it. I have to log on to my computer to do so.

Best Board portal we've used!
The customer service with OnBoard is top notch. Anytime we've needed help, they're ready. Setup was a breeze. We knew day one of our trial period that this was the portal we've been needing!
Vorteile
My favorite feature of OnBoard is the ease of use both for the administrator and the user. The portal our Board previously used was not nearly as user friendly for our Board members. I have heard no complaints from our Board since we've switched to this one! For the administrator, the features are nearly endless. Organizing this portal for our team was quick and easy, and everything is very easy to find.
Nachteile
The only feature this portal lacks that we would find helpful is a minutes builder. Although we have no problem having minutes written separately and uploaded to the portal, using the portal to create minutes as we move through the Board Book would cut our time spent on that in half.

OnBoard is just what we needed
Our Board and Executive Team is happy with OnBoard and I believe they have found the transition from our previous board site to be simple and feel comfortable with the features and accessibility of OnBoard. A satisfied team makes and Exec Assistant happy! :)
Vorteile
We are only slowly moving into all the features, to keep our transition seamless. The ease of use is very important and evident with both me and with the team of 19 others using it. We were able to roll this out to our Board and Executive Team so they didn't feel a while new learning curve was necessary.
Nachteile
Integration with existing processes has been very smooth, with minimal questions.
As to improvements or frustrations, they've been minor. One has been regarding the ability to change order on certain documents or files and needing label them a, b, d, or 1, 2, 3, etc...to get them in the order I want them. Another is that while I appreciate the analytics, I wish as an administrator, I had control over who sees the results.

OnBoard works well
Overall, our experience with OnBoard has been a positive one. We are using the technology to be more efficient and productive than what our past practices entailed allowing for more strategic discussions to be held .
Vorteile
OnBoard was easy to deploy for our board and board committee meetings. We now have all of our information available electronically, easy to access from anywhere and any device. It has provided much needed structure and organization to our meetings, allowing for more time to be spent on strategic discussions. We have also starting using the software for many other internal committees, to achieve the same benefits and reduce the amount of printing/paper that was needed in our past manual process.
Nachteile
As we conduct so many meetings on OnBoard, I have found it doesn't have a good way to organize them when you go back and look at past information.

Getting "OnBoard"
What I really enjoy about OnBoard is the support. The support team is very efficient and reliable. Always ready to help and gets things done quickly.
Vorteile
What I really like about OnBoard is that the application is easy to get around and developing the pages are easy. You don't have to know programming to make changes.
Nachteile
I have nothing wrong to say about the updated software. We did run into some compatibility issues with the older software, which is mainly our fault for not being up to date with the software.

Would purchase again.
We were using a competitor so we were already familiar with Board software. However, OnBoard offered many more updated features. The transition was smooth and easy for our Trustees to grasp.
Vorteile
Since we were already using a Board meeting portal, it was easy to make the switch. OnBoard offers more features and it is easier to navigate. Approvals, surveys and e-signatures are my favorites!!
Nachteile
There isn't anything that we don't like.

OnBoard Review
My experience over the past year has been great. My OnBoard representative responds quickly to questions, the help desk responds quickly if there is an IT issue, and the program itself has everything I need to create successful meetings.
Vorteile
OnBoard has many functions and tools that are useful and time efficient when creating meetings, creating board materials within the meetings, and so easy for the end user to navigate and use. I especially love that OnBoard partnered with Zoom so I can create virtual meetings that allows everyone to participate either by phone, virtual zoom and combo of the two.
Nachteile
I wish a calendar hold option would automatically pop in/populate for my board members instead of them having to rsvp first to autogenerate a calendar hold. The current way isn't bad, but not easily found/figured out either. I spend too much time explaining to members how to get a calendar hold for their meetings.

Try OnBoard
Excellent. Their customer service is about the best I've seen, and they are continually making improvements to the platform.
Vorteile
Updating meeting schedules, content and board books has become so much easier. It also centralizes announcements, allows board members to vote between meetings on consent agendas, resolutions, other action items, and take surveys.
Nachteile
The survey feature does not allow for as much customization as other tools (can't we integrate a calendar feature or customize drop down menus, please?) We also had trouble uploading our data because of a large international contingency, but OnBoard customer service is excellent.

OnBoard is a great tool for managing communications and information sharing with remote Boards

The ease with which we can create full meeting agendas, complete with meeting materials and share them with our board, which is spread out all over the province.

New update has some glitches that I think they are still working out.

OnBoard is the Backbone of Our Board & Committee Meeting Materials
A few small downs, but overall the team has proven ready and willing to help address concerns and challenges. The platform allows our entire organization to maintain a large number of organized meeting materials, and consistently enables creative solutions to fit our needs.
Vorteile
Ease of use. The platform is intuitive, easy to get accustomed to, and and functionality is logical.
Nachteile
The directory and groups. With over 500 users, it can be a bit cumbersome to manage all of our groups with the current functionality.

Best Board Portal Software!
Vorteile
What's not to love? This software is super user friendly for both the administrator side and the end-user side. We transitioned to OnBoard after using another large board portal software and OnBoard is by far the favorite for our staff and members. There is also an app that is very user friendly and our members rave about the app.

OnBoard is the answer to efficiency
I think OnBoard is great. It has helped me to be more efficient when it comes to getting our meeting packet to our board members each month. I can assign other individuals in the bank to upload their documents into the book, I don't have to upload everything. I can notify everyone with one click that the agenda/book is available for review. All the board members have one secure location to access the board packet; rather than sifting through tons of emails to find the one I sent to them.
Vorteile
The ease of use. I love that I can just drag and drop my documents into OnBoard. I don't have to browse for them. I love that I can keep adding documents to the book right up until the start of the meeting. It is very easy for my non-technical staff to use. The support staff at OnBoard is excellent. Everyone has been very helpful and very timely. Every time I've had a question, I had the answer easily within 30 min of emailing them.
Nachteile
The voting is a very nice feature. It is just a little cumbersome for my board to use. It takes them to a different screen to vote, then they have difficulty getting back to the book. When we have multiple agenda items to vote on, they also get a little confused as to which view approval to click. If that could be reworded to say vote for approval of "name of approval item". We usually have about 10 different items to vote on during each board meeting.
Another feature I would like to see is maybe an option to have minutes created after the meeting with who approved, denied or abstained from the voting in each item.

Such a Time-Saver!
It is a HUGE time-saver!!! That is definitely the best thing about it for me. When all you need to do is copy and then drag and drop files, it goes so fast. I would not want to do my job without OnBoard!
Vorteile
OnBoard has been so easy to navigate and learn how to use. We have the same meetings each month and I especially love that I can just copy a previous meeting and it will automatically have all of the attendees' roles assigned and all of the same sections bulleted out. It saves me a lot of time putting material together. When I have to make last minute changes, all I have to do is drag and drop the material in and it shows up right away for everyone. I also love the Resources tab. Now I have a place to put documents that aren't necessarily for a particular meeting, but that people may need to refer to at different times and they know right where to find them.
Nachteile
I honestly don't have anything that I don't like. The video tutorials are so helpful. If there is a feature I haven't used yet, I go there first and feel comfortable using it right away. I have not needed to reach out to any other support because the videos are so thorough.
