As a user of signup genius, I appreciate the transparency of the app, how it lists exactly what type of help is requested and in what amounts. I can choose to commit to aspects that I can manage, knowing I'm able to complete the commitment, instead of agreeing to a vague volunteer time or effort. I have personal limits on my physical abilities and time, so it's very helpful to be able to choose something that I can do and feel like I'm contributing.

Nachteile

Signup genius leaves the details of signups up to the administrator, which can't be helped, but sometimes signups don't have as many details or as much transparency. Maybe some optional prompts could be added to the set-up, such as a pop-up that suggests adding more detail, but isn't required.

I first used SignUpGenius as a PTA president when my children were young. We discovered the site and implemented it for volunteer sign up at various events. At first, many were reluctant to try something new, but as they used it, they realized how convenient it truly is. Over the next few years, organizations rolled it out more and more, and now I regularly receive invitations to participate in projects as a donor or volunteer with SignUpGenius.

As a teacher, I have even used it to schedule intervention sessions. I was able to indicate all of my open availability and then allow teachers to select slots for their students. It saved us hours or back-and-forth conversation and the reminders that are built into the software were helpful for ensuring that students would actually be sent to me for their meetings, which was a great improvement.

Nachteile

I feel like at some point the software became very ad-heavy, and that makes it unusable for participants. It's necessary to keep providing the service at free or low cost, but it can be nervewracking wondering if the next announcement aligns with district policies. Other than disabling ads for educators, I'm not sure how that could be worked out and still be reasonable for the company.

For a long time, our program not only struggled to get volunteers for events, but struggled to reach the volunteers to give them information about an event. We tried manually e-mailed, paper sign up copies, giant bulletin boards in the hallway, and it seemed as though we always missed people. It also left a lot of leg work for us. Enter SignUpGenius! The best part about the website is that its EASY to navigate and it is so fast to create a sign up for an event. You essentially write a small blurb about the event and then choose the template that best meets the needs of your event--whether it is one day or more, one-time slot of several and the number of volunteers. Then, you can either upload your contacts to their website, or create a link that you can send out.

We use SignUpGenius for every event! It sends the admin e-mails when someone has signed up so that you can keep track of how your doing. The very BEST feature is that it automatically sends out a reminder about the event to everyone who has signed up. This has saved us more hours than I can count! After the event is over, it archives it so you still have the information to refer too.

Nachteile

There is very little that I dislike about SignUpGenius and most of it is just more annoying than anything. While SignUpGenius is free for users, they do have a "Pro" edition that you can choose to pay for. This includes photos to use for your event posting or specific additional features. If you click on them accidentally, it will prompt you to sign up for the Pro edition. Not a big deal, just a nuisance, and sometimes its uncertain as to why these are paid features.

As a training manager, I'm constantly advertising new events and having to track sign ups and attendance for each of them - which is where SignUp Genius really comes in handy. I have used both a paid for version and the free version of SignUp Genius, both have done exactly what I've needed them to do and I choose to continue to use it over other sign up software. I love that I can create a simple sign up, send out the link in my advertisements for sessions, and I immediately get emails the moment anyone signs up. I love this feature the most. I don't have to constantly log back in and check the sign up to send calendar invites, it automatically lets me know. I can even incorporate an additional question to ask regarding the topic of the training to collect questions and feedback for my presenters before the session to help guide their approach.

Nachteile

This has become common use at our institution, but when it was just rolling out, we started using the function of sending out emails through SignUp Genius and they often had sign ups go to junk mail or with a warning of an unrecognized sender. That was an issue, however, we now send the emails ourselves and just include the link to the sign up and that works best for us.

Never having been an administrator of this pro duct I can’t speak to the ease of the setup but as a user I always liked how straightforward it seemed. The signup options have always been clearly visible and easy to select. I especially like how a description of each sign up option can be made available along with the name of that option.

Nachteile

My least favorite thing about Signup Genius was actually the several steps you go through to verify your selection. The main times that I used This product was during my nursing school education as we were signing up for clinical assignments. As soon as the sign-up window is open each of us students logged on and quickly tried to select our favorite clinical site. Having to verify my selection several times only to find that it had already been taken by another student was frustrating. I wish that after simply clicking on the item once that it would have gone through rather than going through these extra verifications.

I volunteer at the local high school as a track coach. I like how easily I can send links to parents and show them exactly what we need for our track events. It helps prevent duplicate items and ensures we get exactly what we need and the right amounts of what we need

Honestly for what we use it for, the product has very little downside. We use the free version and it is perfect for what we need.

Great way to get your employees to participate in work and non-work related events. We used Sales force for an event that we were participating in and it was easy to manage. It provides reminders and it is user friendly.

It is a bit difficult to cancel once you have signed up. You have to email the administrator and have them cancel it for you. Maybe there is an easier way but I have not found it.

I am so glad to get out of the old paper sign-up rut! SignUpGenius has made sign-ups so painless and made organizing events so much easier. It is amazing to not have multiple copies of a sign-up floating around and then have to combine the names later and verify that no one signed up twice on two different sheets, etc. It is truly great and setting up a sign-up couldn't be easier. The creator of the sign-up needs to set up an account, but those who sign up don't have to create an account!

Nachteile

There are obviously some features, like start and/or stop dates, that are not available if you use the basic free version. I also don't like that even on the paid versions, you still only get a limited number of sign-ups without ads; in fact, only the most expensive option has no ads.

You can easily customize forms with as many or as a few of fields as you need and when you are ready to share your forms, you can do it with a link or you can upload your contacts and have SignUpGenious send out your invitations. You can also edit your form after you publish it and you can chose to send out reminders to those who have signed up.

Nachteile

It is not the most intuitive to build when you have to do your first form and it would be helpful to have some guidance on those. The templates for the free version are not particularly attractive -- the colors and photos are not the best.

I was in charge of a fundraiser for my daughter's trip to sing at Carnegie Hall. This trip was quite expensive so many fundraisers were needed. I had been on the user end of SignUpGenius a number of times. This was my first time actually creating and managing one. I appreciated that we were able to organize and sign-up people for donations and work times at our booth during a local summer festival. It expedited contact with a large number of families. The event was a success!

I found that designing the sign-ups took a lot of patience and experimentation.
I am fairly tech savvy. I have a Masters Degree in Educational Technology so I am always interested in learning how to use new software products. As a user, I find it very easy to navigate. As a creator, it didn't seem intuitive enough for me.

Vorteile

I love so much about this software. We used to reserve booth meeting space at our conventions manually, which required someone to manage it all day. Now we enter the 30 minutes time slots and people can see the reservations live. I also LOVE the reporting aspect, it is so easy to use. I also love that I can link two signups into one with the use of tabbing. It makes it easier for attendees to sign up for everything in one place instead of figuring out which link goes with which sign up.

Nachteile

Some of the graphics could be better for the themes. I know they have added new graphics and removed some of the older pictures. I think some look a little cluttered. I would like to see neat and clean pictures available in the categories and less busy graphics.

We have used this for various functions in our company and I find it to be easy and fairly straightforward. Although I'm never in favor of creating another login, the fact that you do, means that the application remembers what you've attended. And, for the next time, it allows for quick sign up (which is pretty important around here) because you have a login.

Well, as I said, I never like creating yet another login, but this is quick and easy. I have had a couple of issues with signing up in the past but it's been a while.

I like that I can create a sign up form online for people to access. It makes signing up workers for carnivals or other events much easier.

I regularly use this software to set up tutoring groups for medical students in their first year at my university. It easily allows me to regulate the group sizes and keeps all of my sign-ups in one convenient location. One feature that is a must for me is the ability to incorporate the sign-ups from SignUpGenius into my other calendars, such as Google calendar or iCal, which this platform does seamlessly.

Nachteile

One con that I have experienced is that you are unable to click the back button to go back to the previous page when using the platform on a computer. This lack of ability can make it a bit tricky to sign up for events that are time-sensitive or tend to fill up quickly. Other than that this is a fantastic scheduling platform.

I have utilized SignUp Genius for other projects, but recently discovered that it will integration with Cozi. I can now sign up for any classes or events and it will automatically added them to my family calendar. This ensures that nothing is overlooked and eliminates the additional work of adding events one by one.

Main page is basic and could use some upgrades. It has been difficult to locate a previous event via the mobile app.

This software made it easy for multiple people to have access to the same sign-up sheet with adjustments made in real time so that once someone signed up for a time slot or product, it disappeared so that there wouldn't be duplicate sign ups. We've used this for reserving meeting times, signing up for who would bring what items to the company potluck and what items people would be contributing to the company silent auction.

Nachteile

The mobile version doesn't seem to be fully compatible yet. There are some items I can't see on the screen even if I rotate the screen and scroll to try to find it.

When we have projects that need to be delegated and selected, we use sign up and we can first choose which project we want to work on. I haven’t had any concerns or problems arise while using sign-up. I’m not aware if there is an app available, but that would be the only opportunity of improvement in my opinion.

What I like most about SignUpGenius is its free-to-use features. When I want to quickly put together a "sign up" where participants choose time slots or items to bring to an event, I can create the sign up and have it sent out fairly quickly. It is nice that the software itself updates me with emails about responses. I also enjoy having some options when it comes to customizing the look of my sign up. Another helpful feature is the ability to copy an existing sign and use it as the base for a new project.

Nachteile

SignUpGenius can be difficult to navigate and use at times. Problems can be pretty easily overcome when they arise, but creating a sign up sometimes feels cumbersome and clunky. For example, selecting times on specific days to include for scheduling can feel be frustrating, especially if the user makes a mistake and has to try to fix it. Editing feels like a chore at times.
