Helpful tool for volunteer management
Vorteile
I have to coordinate many volunteers and plan meetings for us. Not everyone is on Outlook so it is challenging to know what windows of time work for us to meet, plan and serve. This tool really helps resolve that!

The cost barrier is the biggest challenge for me.

Sign Up Genius
Vorteile
The ease of navigating the website for fundraisers , meal trains and volunteer opportunities .
Nachteile
Sometimes it doesn’t update live time. So if two people are navigating the sign up , it won’t show right away that someone already signed up. However it’s not a huge deal, It’s still worth it .

When I need volunteers this is what I use!
I have never had an issue using SignUp Genius and every time it works exactly how it was intended to be used.
Vorteile
I use SignUp Genius for a wide variety of uses. From birthday parties, to family gatherings, to school functions, and coaching responsibilities. The ease of creating a signup and the flexibility it has is amazing. There is not another signup I would use.
Nachteile
The thing I like the least would be all the adds but I understand they have to make money and I understand I can pay to remove them. So I choose just to deal with them.

A Nonprofit's Dream
SO easy to get and organize volunteer signups vs the old clipboard with a legal pad and pen method. I still can't believe that it's free. It's trusted and well known, so people don't mind creating an account to use it.

Easy to go from using it in personal life to with our new nonprofit.

No downsides. Even the few ads aren't intrusive. Surprising for a free product.

So easy to use!
Vorteile
This program could not be easier to use. You just use your email address to be able to access the program and sign up for a volunteer slot. And I especially like the feature where you can see who else signed up for the same times so you can sign up with your friends!

It looks like the company has not updated the UI in awhile, so it looks dated and could use a facelift.

I don’t see any cons to this product. It’s not difficult to use. I don’t know what I would do with it.

Simple volunteer management with SignUpGenius
We are taking a busy event and organizing the volunteer effort really needed to make it happen, which ensures the event goes off with minimal issue each year. We feel it’s a great example of when tech has really made our lives significantly easier.
Vorteile
It’s been a great tool for keeping volunteers organized and is very intuitive, so even volunteers who aren’t particularly tech-savvy have been able to utilize it. I have used it from both my phone and laptop and find both options work well. I find it affordable and even began using the free version which I had no major complaints about. It took a very chaotic event (dance recital) and streamlined the volunteer event needed to make it happen.
Nachteile
I’m not crazy about all the template options - wish there were better choices - but all in all, I don’t spend too much time on it so not a huge factor in whether or not I’ll continue using it.

Best app for Volunteer work
Love this app.
So easy to set up and share with mail list. One thing I like most about this sign up website is that it sends detailed automated reminders to people who signed up.

Effective, just messy
My overall experience with SignUpGenius is fairly neutral. I don't feel a ton of loyalty toward it simply because it's not always the most intuitive or user-friendly platform, but it does work at getting sign-ups.
Vorteile
SignUpGenius works well for simple volunteer management. It's nothing fancy (at least, I have not used any bells and whistles) but gets the job done when you need people to sign-up for tasks.
Nachteile
The user experience feels really messy at times. I personally would love to see SignUpGenius get some kind of a facelift so it doesn't feel quite so spammy.

Vorteile
Often volunteer sign up results in multiple people signing up for the same thing unintentionally. With this, it's so easy to see what one person/family is already set to bring to an event/party. It's so nice to be able to see what is already accounted for. It's also easily accessible to see what time slots are open for a particular meeting/conference.
Nachteile
Sometimes there is a small lapse in time when a choice is made resulting in a particular time slot being filled as I was submitting my choice.

Super Easy to Use & Access
Amazing with having everyone being able to sign up for slots & add comments that are readable by others signing up. One of our favorite uses of this website is our holiday parties. So being able to know what others plan to bring is super important and SignUp Genius makes it super easy to do.

Nachteile
It requires typing out all of the items you need be filled in without allowing for pre-set templates for what we use it for. But it doesn't take much time.

Works great for signing parents up for helping Booster Club

Professional
I’ve used SignUpGenius for a multitude of events for at least the past five years. I have had large conflicts due to administrators not cross examining how information is displayed once the link is live. I want SignUpGenius to grow because as a free platform people are very familiar and connected to it. I would love to mainly use SignUpGenius for most events and coordination with groups, but it’s simply not a professional enough environment, yet.
Vorteile
People are familiar with the platform and feel comfortable navigating it compared to other products. Also it’s easily accessible by both mobile devices and computers. There is also some customization.
Nachteile
The platform is sub-par in it’s ability to collate contact information or mass communicate. Using the platform at a business level is considered unprofessional due to appearance within the platform and lack of features

Clunky
SignUpGenius desperately needs an update. I've been using it for years and it still looks old and functions clunky.

Being able to see what other volunteers have signed up for an opportunity and easily being able to cancel a sign up.

My Favorite Tool for Volunteer Management
Vorteile
Despite the fact that setup for some sign-ups can be slow, I never worry about what happens after somebody signs up for a volunteer event. SignUpGenius is well-automated and sends reminders to users and administrators to make sure nothing is overlooked - even in the unpaid version. I also love being able to run reports on sign-ups and system users; it makes volunteer management much easier.
Nachteile
It can take a while to set up a more complex sign-up; the user interface for this process isn't incredibly intuitive, so it takes some practice to learn how to use efficiently.

SignUp Genius for Student Success and Retention
I've used SignUpGenius as a volunteer both at work (technical college) and at my city's community theatre. It's easy to view the days and times available, sign up and receive a confirmation and reminders.
Vorteile
SignUp Genius allows the volunteer coordinator to contact employees throughout the campus to fill all the shifts on the event schedule. Everyone who signs up can see who's covering each shift.
Nachteile
Some people like to receive several notifications or reminders, but I find them excessive.

A helpful casual scheduling tool
I used SignUpGenius to schedule conferences. We had multiple slots available every 20 minutes and this made schedule 1000x easier for our team. Families could see what was available and sign up on their own time. It was incredibly helpful.
Vorteile
It's free. I have only used the free version but have found it fit my needs to schedule a high volume of meetings.
Nachteile
For what we needed, we loved sign up genius. There were times that families found it less than easy and would make mistakes on their end which could be a bit complicated to fix. Overall, not a big issue.

End user of Signup Genius (Volunteering)
Overall my experience was positive, outside of being forced to create an account when volunteering for an event.
Vorteile
The ease of use for signing up once you have created a profile and the alerts/reminders that are sent out to remind me what I have signed up for as there is always a lot going in my schedule.
Nachteile
I would have liked to have a guest option for when signing up for volunteering instead of having to create a account first as it is difficult to always remember login information.

I love how easy SignUpGenius is to use! It's only a few easy steps and made the process of signing up for something easy.
Nachteile
I found it to be slightly inconvenient when not all sign up choices were on the same page. I have definitely missed potential options/choices because I had to click an arrow to another page that I missed.

Great for the classroom!

I love how easy it is to create my own sign ups for my classroom. I can do it very quickly as well. Parents love it too!

Great Tool for Volunteer Positions
Vorteile
The customization for each event is super easy. For volunteers to be able to sign up and also comment or make a note for their sign up is so helpful. We use this for classroom events, sports sign ups, work parties, etc. Easy and convenient.
Nachteile
I haven't come across anything with SignUpGenius that I have needed and they didn't already have. Great product.

Great For Teachers!
Vorteile
It was super easy to use, and made creating parent-teacher conferences a breeze to set up. It is perfect that you can customize fields (like requiring the student’s name to keep track of who belongs to who!) I like that it also sent reminders to families that signed up.

Would definitely recommend for your next events RSVP's
Vorteile
Very user-friendly as I have used this on a personal level for reserving spaces at events around town. They have a basic plan which is free to use.
Nachteile
None at this time
