I've been using Dameware for a while now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer for my IT support work. Here’s a breakdown of my experience with it:
What I Love:
Easy to Use: The interface is very intuitive. Even if you're not super tech-savvy, you can find your way around without much hassle. It’s made my remote management tasks so much simpler.
Versatile Remote Access: Dameware covers all the bases when it comes to remote access. Whether I need to take control of a user’s desktop, transfer files, or manage system settings, it has all the tools I need.
Supports Multiple Platforms: I work with a mix of Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, and Dameware handles them all seamlessly. This cross-platform support is a huge plus for me.
Strong Security Features: Security is always a concern with remote access tools, but Dameware’s multi-factor authentication, smart card login, and encryption give me peace of mind. I know my sessions are secure.
Scales Well: Whether I'm supporting a small team or a larger group, Dameware scales effortlessly. It adapts to my needs as they grow, without any performance issues.

What Could Be Better:
Setup Can Be Tricky: The initial setup and configuration can be a bit daunting, especially if you’re dealing with a large network. It took me some time to get everything running smoothly.
Pricey: Dameware isn’t the cheapest option out there. For smaller businesses or those on a tight budget, the cost might be a bit steep. However, I believe the features justify the price.
Resource Usage: During remote sessions, I’ve noticed that Dameware can be a bit resource-intensive. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s something to keep in mind, especially on older systems.

Wonderful and effective bridge connecting systems, but not the finest
It aided in providing users both on and off campus with remote support. Additionally, it enabled remote access to servers and other devices that would have required troubleshooting. Not having to travel to many offices to help with a few clicks saves so much time. Using the tool was like having an extra set of hands because I saved so much time.
Vorteile
A simple method of linking systems to examine problems with end-user equipment even when the user is not there. I like how simple it is for me to remote into my users' computers and assist them when they run into problems. This product also comes with excellent support and documentation. By setting a password, you can establish a secure connection. The password might be fixed or random.
Nachteile
Improved multiscreen remote sessions should use one screen for each slide. There is no option to add notes to entries for improved support, and adding machines is a bit laborious. For us, recording is not currently enabled. needs a strong connection to function correctly. When services on distant workstations break down and the remote connection breaks down, you must uninstall and reinstall the services, which is occasionally challenging.

Dameware on my side
Utilizing the centralized server for management provides a great deal of power from a single system with access to as many others as are configured for it. AD can be managed from this location, monitoring and alerts can be setup, and a great deal of functionality for automating daily tasks or scripts is also built in! There's an immense amount of power in DRS when setup to provide support and ease management to an environment, which is by no means limited to just Windows desktop computers. Thanks to the Mobile Gateway and VNC Viewer compatibility, even non-Windows systems are fully covered and available for remote support.
Vorteile
A powerful utility with a great deal of functionality that can help different environment not only resolve issues & problems more quickly but also to run more smoothly the entire time. Too often tools are singular in their purpose, when a little added functionality goes a long way. There is such a thing as too many cooks, but DRS strikes an excellent balance between depth & breadth of features.
Nachteile
I would like to see snapshots of screens (updated at specific intervals) that I am not connected to through the mini remote control module as a way to keep tabs on users.
I would also like to see a troubleshooting recorder, similar to Windows 7's Problem Step Recorders with capabilities to email the recording to a specified email address or post to a support forum.

Dameware is a Bombshell
Quicker support for end users on the internal network. It lets us get to pcs in need of support with less end user interaction.
Vorteile
Connecting to a computer for remote support without needing interaction from the end user is the best part of Dameware. With other software, the end user has to read a code or perform some actions to get you connected. Not with Dameware. Also, the information you can get about the pc from the remote connection without actually having to connect and view the information in Windows is great.
Nachteile
We still haven't figured out how to set up the Internet Proxy part so we can help users outside of our internal network. The configuration of that part of the software is very confusing, and I haven't been able to find a good tutorial on how to do that.

I use Dameware as my go to remote control software package.
I am able to quickly take over a machine and solve issues remotely, even if the machine does not have the client I can push it out to the machine to initiate a session. it saves a lot of time being able to remotely support an issue.
Vorteile
I like the fact that it will display multiple screens correctly and the mouse registration is not off on multiple monitors with different resolutions. i like being able to push the client out to machines that do not currently have the client installed. Once it is configured correctly with Active Directory it is pretty straightforward and easy to use. Usually if an RDP session is locked up I can get in with DameWare to free the session up.

Great product overall
Vorteile
We love the interface, the ease of use, and the support. I can't say enough good things about the support. Just closed a case and worked through everything step by step to a resolution. Excellent customer service.
Nachteile
Difficult to navigate the options (because there are so many), at least at first. Training others to switch was a little difficult but the product is very stable and worth the effort.
Only other complaint is the search missing from AD. Not sure how hard that is to integrate but that would be extremely useful.

Staraigh forward easy to use
Vorteile
I like the MSI builder portion which makes client deployments easy to configure and push. I also like the fact that it offers multiple credential options from encrypted windows logon to Smart card logon
Nachteile
Computer name lookup. Wish it had last login information which would allow for easier lookups. Sometimes the license portion is hard to activate. Also, the support for the softer seems to be general ) no software specialist available in helpdesk that can help with technical questions and concerns.

Remote support feature was a big plus. Able to remote into a system and presence not aware. Ability to see background information regarding the system when doing support. A lot of newer features.
Nachteile
Not much of a change. Had version 6.8 and now version 12. No visible change for remote and still acts a bit buggy.

Feature rich and functional
Vorteile
It seems there are 98% of the features I could wish for in a support tool. No complaints on functionality here. Worth the investment for LAN based support needs.
Nachteile
Has a little bit of an older style interface. It could be more finger friendly for tablets. More powershell features could be useful.

Cost effective, reliable
Vorteile
IT has been reliable and easy to use within our environment. Very easy especially in a Help Desk situation. I am able to easily take care of problems and educate end users at the same time. There is a wealth of information that can be obtained in the background without disturbing users.
Nachteile
At times there are connection problems with older operating systems. At times there are issues when installing the client for the end user when connecting for the first time.

Very good remote tool
Overall it was a very useful tool to aide our network based computers
Vorteile
The ability to install without the end users needing to do anything. Only requirement was that you needed to know the computername.
Nachteile
Lack of out of domain network support. We have many personel that can travel and if we didn't get VPn on their machine we couldn't reach them with this tool. Made for actual remote network support more difficult

Good tool once properly setup
Vorteile
This helps out help desk by giving them access to all user machines and the tools needed to do there job efficiently.
Nachteile
the setup was not the best and complex and understand how to use the software was ok. We had to spend what i thought was more time then necessary to get everything up and running.

Very easy to use and a must-have for IT Support

The ability to screen-share is obviously what I use it for. There seems to be a lot of different features that I do not know about that I would like to learn eventually.
Nachteile
I do not like all the calls and emails I get from downloading this. It is slightly annoying, but I don't mind it that much.

Provide remote support to user
Vorteile
Security features which allow you setup up with a proxy. A lot of great features to come with, plus unlimited license of agent to install.
Nachteile
Could be confuse to setup, modify settings / configurations for beginning users, but once you use it for a few times, you will fall in love with all the features.

Overall a good experience.
Vorteile
It is integrated with our Solar Winds Helpdesk, which allows Dameware to be run from within a ticket.
Nachteile
I have not had the time I would like to work with Dameware, however I noticed that there is no portal based access.
