Still the best!
Powerpoint continues to be the best slideshow and presentation software on the market. It only continues to get easier to use. My only complaint is the file size a presentation creates.

It's a bit pricey, but for professional presenters, it could be worth the money to create great slide shows.

We have many templates to make our presentations, it is really an advantage and it saves us a lot of time in the design.

When you save the ppt to PDF format, the quality of the images saved from power point is lost. So the quality is poor.

Powerpoint has the power!
Powerpoint makes it simple to create and maintain templates for presentations. I am able to export to PDF natively on my mac as well, which makes it even more useful. The presentation view is helpful for technical sessions.

MS PowerPoint now has a revamped interface that is intuitive and good looking.

It's easy to use. Creating a presentation is a pretty intuitive process, and plenty of themes make it easy to produce something that looks professional with zero effort.

An old giant still stands tall
I first learnt how to use PowerPoint roughly 15 years ago, and since then it's been the default for any presentations. Other applications come and go, but PowerPoint is always there to provide a stable, easy to use, and familiar experience.
The capability to create something as simple or complex as you want is a big point with the software, allowing both beginners and experienced designers to create beautiful presentations that would fit in to any setting.
