Canvas was what my college (University of Wisconsin- River Falls) used and it was very simple to use. The platform was customizable for the user and I could use get each class labeled and color coordinated to navigate through.

The only thing I did not like about Canvas was the buffering that it occasionally occurred as you tried logging on.

When learning how to use Canvas, the Student View feature is a very helpful practice tool that you can continue to use for managing your courses on a daily basis. You can preview and engage with your course using the tool much like a student would.

The Test Student cannot be enrolled into a course group or section, and Student View does not support testing through third-party platforms like Zoom and Panopto (those platforms are validated outside of Canvas, so they continue to view the Test Student as the teacher's main account). These are the two most notable limitations of Student View.

* It's terribly complex, with mysterious hieroglyphs that show no hints if you hover over them with the mouse. So you have to click on them to find out, but then it might be too late!
*Nothing works like in normal software, e.g.:
- If you enter things and you click the wrong button, everything is lost without warning!
- In every software, the TAB key is THE key to move to the next editbox. Here, if you hit TAB, all kinds of unpredictible things happen.
* Often, weird error messages appeared out of the blue.
* The information given to the user is sometimes just wrong; e.g. some task is marked as "published" and yet the students still can't see it! I needed a specialist to find out which hidden settings needed to be changed too.
* Correcting the automatically given scores was a horrible task.

As a student, it is an easy interface to navigate. The "Mark as Done" function helps me keep track of progress. Each class layout is pretty much the same. The app works just as good as the desktop webpage.

I'd like a better notifications section. For example, I get a notification on my phone, and I open it (sometimes accidentally!). It opens to the screen I was notified about, but there's no trace of that specific notification in the app once I leave the window it notified me about. I'd like a "Notifications" page on my account that logs all the updates/notifications so that I can go back and access them in my own time.

Perhaps a calendar integration would be nice too (integrate with iCal and Google Cal)

Canvas makes it possible for courses to be as close to in-person learning as possible. In some ways, I like online education better than in-person, but a lot depends on the technological delivery. Canvas has much to offer.

Not that this is a fault to Canvas, but it can be tiresome to grade digitally when compared to hard copy homework-grading. Canvas has the tools to let you print out and then upload, but that's also a big time-waster. So I tend to sacrifice the headaches for the speed of work.

CANVAS has been a critical tool for me during my time at college. It's intuitive design allows you to check your grades, review assignments from professors, and a great HUB for all the necessary tools you need to stay on top of your A-game for school. It was also great when I used to tutor for high school students to check for daily assignments and syllabus for upcoming tests.

One of the minor annoyances with CANVAS in the past has been with professors who were not fully onboard with CANVAS. Ther would be some missing assignments and missing syllabi. The portal is only as good as its user and the same goes for students who were not checking the portal on a daily basis.

Canvas is a great online tool to further your education from anywhere you have computer access/wifi. It keeps any and all assignments/test in order and gives you scores quickly. It is also a quick way to reach out to teachers/administrators with questions or if issues arise.

Canvas does need a wifi connection and since no internet connection is perfect, a glitch in the wifi can cause you to be kicked out of an assignment/test and not allowed back in causing am instant downfall in your grade.
