Nice some extra features that are unique but they should work on its complexity
Vorteile
I like the requirements for using this softwares , not too much they don't over work my PC. Building different models to come up with desired 3D/2D plans with its features is also a plus, cosidering its a free s/w this is great.
Nachteile
Honestly if you don't have prior experience with design s/w this one is not for beginners. Its a bit complex for beginners

Love that I can create a visual for my bosses at work to see using this software, was very impressed how easy it was to pick up and go, lots of videos and help on the internet.

Best free multiplatform CAD
Vorteile
Coming from a paid win software, this was the first linux alternative I tried. There was no big deal in getting familiar to the tool layout. Great simulation tools, similar workflow to other CAD.
Nachteile
Nothing to say here. It is a very capable software that I use.

My FreeCAD review
I mostly use it for my file conversion needs. It detects some important (not much) type of file extensions in the 3d industry. Since all major paid softwares have a kind of free usage option, FreeCAD has a limited user ecosystem rather than others.
Vorteile
FreeCAD is a free software you can design everything in 3D. This is a lightweight (not consumes PC's cappacity so much) software you can use in your projects.
Nachteile
The software has not sculpting feature. Besides, it has a poor interface design.

Extraordinary 3D CAD functionality for FREE, yet you need to invest time to master it.
This is a fully functioning free download that is probably worth the effort to learn (I'm still learning it). I have over 30 years experience using various other CAD systems, yet still need to get over the learning hurdle with this system to feel comfortable using it.
Vorteile
Surprisingly powerful and visually similar to other 3D CAD modelers. I was able to import an IGES assembly from another mid-range system without any issues. Although I was not able to then modify the assembly. A good number of tutorials are available on YouTube.
Nachteile
Functions are similar to other products, yet to me, it is not intuitive and requires investing more time to learn. The icons do not look as elegant as more premium systems, yet what can you expect for a FREE program that people worked hard to create on their own dime.

Easy and free 3D cad software

It’s free and it’s very easy to use. And the best thing is that it runs on Mac!
You can creat a 3D model from a 2D, and a 2D from a 3D.

Project Management in a CAD, just awesome
Vorteile
The module of Assembly Project is perfect for me, because I can make a project from the beggining with all my coworkers and later modelling to know where are the failures and main limitations of our design, I can do many things with this software but this module is just awesome.
Nachteile
This kind of work requiere a very high level of compromise, you need a team who will be together and focus through out all the project, if the things are not like that you project will not be work well.

Low Cost Parametric CAD and Blueprinting
Very satisfied. It did what I needed it to do for a super reasonable price.
Vorteile
I was doing some quick prototyping of a new product and needed a CAD/drafting package. I started with the free version of FreeCAD and found it fully functional, with all the features and options that I needed. Once I learned the system upgrade was the logical choice.
Nachteile
I found the environment difficult to learn and not intuitive, however, I am not experienced in this area, being a chemical engineer not a mechanical engineer which I am sure would have been much more comfortable. I needed to generate the drawing for some manifolds that we needed to import into Computational Fluid Dynamics.

A lot of options for me to desing in 3D
Vorteile
FreeCAD offers and enormous amount of options to modelling, you can do geometry, architecture, robot simulation, rendering, sketch and path modelling, all this in only one software and for free, it is just awesome because another software for pay offer less more than FreeCAD.
Nachteile
It is a very specialized software so you have to have previous experience working with CAD and modelling in 3D becuase all the tools are for professionals of this areas.

Is freecad an alternative to AutoCad
I tried it for a time as an alternative but I had go back to Autocad as it was more widely used in architectural industry.
Vorteile
First it is free and you can do almost everything in it that you can do in Autocad. Its a got a nice supportive community to clear doubts and there are plethora of tutorials.
Nachteile
As its not an industry standard you will have to adapt to other software over time and if you are going to work professionally then also you will have to switch to an other software.

Free CAD for 3D printing

I really enjoy using FreeCAD. It's a great piece of software that allows me to create detailed 3D models with precision and ease. I love that it's open-source, which means that it's constantly being updated and improved by a dedicated community of users.
Nachteile
One thing I dislike about FreeCAD is that it can be a bit slow at times. When working with large models or assemblies, it can take a while for the software to respond to my commands, which can be frustrating. I also find that the rendering can be slow, which can make it difficult to visualize my designs in real-time.Another thing I don't like about FreeCAD is that it can be a bit buggy. Amazing robot modelling in a software
Vorteile
I had never think do this in a software but FreeCAD is so complete, because after to made my model I can saw how my instruments and robot come to life it is wonderful and very useful to explain processes and practice with students.
Nachteile
It is very difficult to do this it takes me a lot of time to create my first Robot Simulation because there are so many details to tu put on it, but the results is amazing.

Great program for any designer or architect!
Vorteile
I was skeptical about this program at first but it really grew on me. I had a bit of a learning curve learning the macros and functions, but once you re-program yourself to acclimate to this program it's really a breeze.
Nachteile
Only con would be that there are other programs that are performing at a little higher rate with a bit more exposure. I had to do some searching for reviews and tutorials on this product to get myself in tune with it.

I can build geometry in two dimension with this software
Vorteile
This software is excellent for me, because it allows to skecth my designs in two dimensions before modelling and rendering, I can build and manage my objects in two dimensions which is better for me, because I can see my models pretty clear.
Nachteile
For me it is very difficult to do the transition from 2D to 3D because there are a lots of options that I do no manage for work in three dimensions.

The learning curve is much faster with the Polygonal system, since it is to draw in plane and to extrude. This is the main advantage of SketchUp. The use of the mouse to place and modify the polygons and to be able to give the exact measurements by means of a keyboard makes designing with this application incredibly intuitive.
Nachteile
The problem comes when the pieces are complex and must also be exact. We all know that to place the centers of the circles in SketchUp we must make guides that we will later erase. This begins to diminish us quickly but when we want to place the polygons in different planes and with different inclinations the issue becomes impossible.

It is an excellent design software and since it is free every engineer should give it a try.

It is free and comes with great tools for 2D and 3D drawing. Another feature that is great is that is not completely restricted, it can be customized and is open source.
Nachteile

It's Freeware, and community supported, if that's something you enjoy, then this is the product for you!
Vorteile
...Its free??? Most CAD software costs an arm and a leg. I've played around with this software, and its really outstanding, obviously not as great as the high end software on the market, but who cares. Free beats spending hundreds of dollars and its a user supported community. You should really give this a shot, I had a blast trying to make thing to print on our school's 3D printer, and this gets you started.
Nachteile
Obviously, you are not going to be able to have the support and training compared to high end products, but if you are willing to put some effort into teaching yourself how this work, then you are golden.

Really good tool for beginners in CAD
FreeCAD has been a vital part of my work life for a year now. It has been very instrumental in my work towards my master's degree and i am quite happy with the software

I started using this software for my master thesis a year ago. With no prior knowledge of 3D designing, it was a big challenge to learn it over a matter of few days. Surprisingly FreeCAD was very helpful because of its simplicity and user friendly features. I highly recommend this software for someone who is beginning in the field
Nachteile
It does not seem to have some high level features which make the end product look very professional and chic. But that also comes as a consequence of user friendliness and the need to not crowd the software with complicated stuff

It's not Inventor, but its also free.
Great value for money (its free) I don't know if I'd use it professionally if my daily work depended on it, but as a hobbyist I love it. Don't bother looking for something else, its the best of the free ones.
Vorteile
This is a pretty darn intuitive parametric CAD program. I love that its open source and is maintained by a great community. The feature set is pretty robust. Sketching in 3D hasn't let me down on anything so far. The interface takes a bit to get used to, but its not a huge curve by any means. Geometric constraints work great.
Nachteile
Its a bit unrefined and buggy. I save often because on MacOS at least, it crashes occasionally. I've not had a problem restoring my work though.

Resourceful Software
FreeCad is a great software, it may not of been for me though, since I was expecting a software more like a 3D Modeling / Sculpting Software, however, my Farther is more experienced with CAD, and he uses this software often, and has been using it for several years.
So, I'll recommend this software for those seeking a classic and quick CAD Drawing and Viewing experience. Thank you so very much for the elegant software.

Although free of charge, the software offered a large variety of tools and preferences, and a user friendly interface.
Nachteile
The user interface and graphics looked a bit dated and the tools were a bit confusing to me, however this may be due to me not being very familiar with this type of CAD, and I was quite young at the time.

Pretty friendly for a beginner
Vorteile
I started using FreeCAD as a complete beginner. It was a little daunting at first, having no experience with CAD software, but once I got into the swing of things I found that it was more than what I needed at a much cheaper cost of entry than most other programs of a similar nature.
Nachteile
The user interface isn't the friendliest or most intuitive to me. It has that open-source feel where all of the refinement was put into the action of the program rather than the presentation. It ends up fine once you get it down, but it is a roadblock to getting started.

Great place to start
Vorteile
That the program was Open Sourced. This is a great program to start with before dishing out hundreds of dollars on one of the BIG major CAD programs. Its compatible with .dwg files along with the Blocks and Symbols packages that are availble for download.
Nachteile
There are some bugs, but with the open feedback for improvement it's really not a bad program. Adding lots of new features with every update. Don't dismiss this program just because it's free.

It just awesome, I never thought that free app could do all the thing that you can do with FreeCAD, because I can model any machine or process with precision and detail, the results are awesome, and this software has no limitations of users, because it is free.

FreeCAD is an amazing free software, it provides excellent tools both for designing and modelling. It's path module is really great, because you can predict the mechanics of cars which is excellent for fixing possible problems beforehand.

FreeCAD for a lighter modeling platform
The overall experience is pretty good especially for modeling small to medium size prototypes for 3D printing applications.
Vorteile
The lighter environment for easier and faster CAD modeling, especially for prototyping and smaller objects for STL exports.
Nachteile
Since the environment is lite, finding the right tools to have extended functions or tasks in modeling will be a little bit difficult. So, the software might be limited in handling complex CAD files.

Very simple for beginners to use. A great first step for CAD
Vorteile
Very simple tools and interface make it very easy for just about anyone to pick up. Helpful tutorials online, and a good option for the price.
Nachteile
Sometimes the tools that are included in the software are too simple. Things that you want to do that would be easier in most other CAD based programs need to be done with additional steps because of the limited tools.

Boa opção para quem quer um software gratuito
Para os usuários acostumados com o AutoCAD, pelo menos para mim, que tenho uso voltado para construção civil, o software não me pareceu tão intuitivo. No entanto, o software é gratuito e te dá diversas possibilidades para importar/exportar arquivos de outros softwares.

Software gratuito.
Comunidade empenhada em dar suporte.
Possibilidade de importar/exportar para diversas plataformas.
Nachteile
Aprendizado mais dificil.
Comando nem tanto intuitivos.

Free 3D modelling software
Vorteile
It was great to use it for a personal project. It has some free tutorials and the work benches are helpful. It was fun to take the project from a 2D sketch to 3D modelling. It might not be good enough for big projects but its an open source and I'm sure it will keep improving.
Nachteile
I don't have much to complaint about it, but I think is good mostly for beginners and small projects.

Easy Software
Overall, a good experience using this software.
Vorteile
Freecad software can only be used for learning and practice purposes since it's easy to explore and you can easily create and update the models. Quiet a user friendly software and the biggest advantage is that the software is free.
Nachteile
The thing I liked least about freecad is that the features are limited as compared to other CAD softwares.
