I like open source solutions. PrestaShop is free and still is much better than some paid ecommerce software. There are so many ready solutions, themes and modules for PrestaShop, it uses popular PHP language and it is easy to find staff familiar with this software.

no começo pode ser um pouco confuso a parte de administração da plataforma mas ao passar do tempo fica muito fácil e pratico e o que mais impacta é que Infelizmente algumas vezes acontecem bugs na plataforma mas todo sistema está sujeito a falhas.

2. There is a large community of developers around the product
3. It has stayed a few years and is battle-tested in real market shops.
4. The documentation is quite updated.

2. It doesn't have a vendor structure
3. There is no Javascript/Node version

Software update is usually the biggest problem with every e-commerce tool. PrestaShop update progress is better than other e-commerce tools out in business. Be careful with custom modifications of course :)

Our company tried to make a small online store on PrestaShop. We mainly do other work, and the online store was a side project. As a result, we overpaid a lot of money for a powerful platform, the functionality of which we do not need. We would be better suited by some more platform with loyal hosting requirements.

Appearance customization requires too many actions. It took a lot of time to fully explore the platform. There are no functions for creating polls, so you have to additionally involve programmers in solving this moment.

Great functionality and simple to use design. It is possible to set it up with no special IT skills, just some general experience with tools like Wordpress etc. There is a variety of add-ons and widgets which make it highly flexible. You can find anything you need either for free or for cheap money. No need for expensive developers for tailored solutions.

The templates are pricey when comparing to other tools. There is a lot of work when adding new products - some of the fields are required while they should not be. For example for online products it is quite complex to set it up as my needs were much simpler than what was required. And I could not change the settings easily to require less information from customer etc.

It is easy to install, configure and launch. In no more than one week you can run your online store and start selling online an unlimited number of products. You can do it by yourself and, in case you are not able to do, you can purchase add-ons to expand capabilities and hire any of the Prestashop partners to do it for you.

If your idea is to sell more than 1 million € / year or your catalog is over 1 million SKUs, forget about Prestashop... You will need a more stable tool with better integration capabilites and a more robust core. It will be more expensive to adapt the tool, than installing an enterprise commerce tool. Prestashop is good to have your first contact with e-commerce and play, not for grow a solid online channel.

This was the platform I used prior to switching to Shopify. The platform was stable and had lots of apps (for purchase) to choose from. The only reason why I had made the change was because of the frequent updates that were becoming too time consuming, costly and inconvenient for my growing business.

I have been working with designers for a long time. The biggest problem was that they limited opportunities. I could not go beyond templates. I noticed such a negative feature: the text placed on the first page is automatically duplicated on all pages of the pagination. This is very bad for SEO. Unfortunately, we did not manage to fix this defect, because we can not interfere with the CMS code, in official PrestaShop sources there is no information about it, and our question was not answered at the official PrestaShop forum.
