Vorteile

The main Pros were that the solution had a good price-quality ratio, it was easy of configure and we had decent results with web filtering.

Nachteile

The web interface is poor, the list of categories for web filtering could be more specific, and we had some false positives in web filtering, so we didn't want to be frequently adding exceptions manually.

It was easy to get started. Easy to manage and good filter.

I'm missing an addon for Chromebooks. With that we could get user information from Chromebooks.

The application itself was great. From setup to use took a total of maybe one hour. Once the system was online it began filtering our mail content inbound and providing vital report information.

Nachteile

In the end the biggest down side I encountered was the hosted pricing. The on site pricing was competitive, but hosted was not and sadly one of the main reasons we did not go with this solution.

The number of times college computers on campus get hit with malware is amazing. This software does a great job and finding and locating it as well as removing malware that people might have accidentally downloaded

The filters within the quarantine sections are a little odd. This would have posed a problem if i actually had this on my private computer where some of the software I download may have keygens or malware that is in fact acceptable to me for various purposes. Commercially, this software is great though.

The user agents give great control in filtering granularity. I'm able to deploy policies at the network level or computer level.

There are newer companies that are even more affordable and offer the same protection and feature base.

It filters out bad stuff. It sends instant email alerts whenever some website is blocked by the program. The price is better than competitors.

It was very difficult to set up with comcast/xfinity. A computer tech from a major global shipping company had to come in and set us up - even with email and phone support from WebTitan. And there is no way of clearing out the history of past internet activities.

It is easy to use and is completely web-based. I had it set up and operational in less than an hour.

The web interface is a little tricky to use. Lots of clicking through menus to find what I am looking for.

Like all web filters, it's not 100%. My students can still get to what they want with some effort. I would say it is comparable to anything I have tried but I still can't guarantee my parents that their child absolutely will not see anything while on our property.

Customer Service could be a bit more thorough. The one time I had to call, instead of walking me through the process, they sent me a pdf that was not very easy to follow. I actually gave up on active directory integration because I couldn't follow the instructions completely

Setting up the DNS proxy VM in Hyper-V took far too many extra steps (as in, had to create the VM in VirtualBox, export it, import it to Hyper-V).

It has the advantage to be setup as on the cloud as well as on premises device. It has a very good filtering option of setting up alerts to handle all situations.

There were some incompatibility when we upgraded our software so we had to reconfigure again. It requires few more improvements on the web interface and GUI.

The easy setup is a big pro you can be running in a prod enviromebt in a hour.
Also the prices is one of the biggest adavantages over its competitors.

We have some problems with the authentication using ntlm and some browswers, also the reportign could be improved with custom reports you may create.

I feel the software is very easy to use and we were able to rapidly deploy it to the clients. The support team was very helpful and responded in a timely manner.

Had a brief issue with users not being sent reports but support was very good and we had it resolved in a couple of days.

WebTitan is a DNS based content filter that has been significant in helping our organization monitor and block content.

Really, nothing. WebTitan is an excellent product! If we had any complaint, it would be that customer service could be a bit quicker, but overall, great product!

Set it and forget it. I have never had to tweak the software. Plenty of great help setting up the software.

We have never had an email blocked that should have come through, nor have we received any emails that should have been flagged as spam.

The interface is friendly and the agent is very light on system resources. Once setup, the agent appears to be very reliable.

I dislike how I have a dedicated instance. If ANYTHING happens to my instance, I will have to wait for support to resolve it.

Love the fact that things are easy to access and work out really well for us, regarding blacklists and white listing Domains or people .

There are some black lists (held only at Spam Titan) that stop mail from getting to us so we are NOT able to see the mail as stopped and for what reason. A Phone call is then required to find the email. Also adding administrators also requires a phone call even though there is a place to add an admins for your domain (it does not work until a phone call is made).

I like protecting our company both in what our employees are doing and from malicious sites. I also like that it is making our company more productive.

I would like to be able to see what each user is doing, but because we don't have a mapped network it is difficult or impossible to do on our small network.

Good customer support with fast response time. Personalized support as well. Easy to interact with the Spam Titan support agents that are familiar with you as a client.

Interface is very un-intuitive. Basically the same spam filtering interface I've been using with other providers for well over 10 years. In desperate need of UI overall and serious UX design help. Would be almost impossible for a non-technical person to use. I've been in IT since 1995 and I still find it difficult to use.

The IP configuration part of it, was quite particular, if you get it wrong, you'll have problems!

TitanHQ is a great program for effectively getting rid of spam. The process of blocking websites is very easy to use.
