Organized and efficient

Vorteile

Online features are nice for all staff to refer to when they work and if they can communicate with other coworkers to pick up shifts.

Nachteile

I wish it would pull up different looks of the schedule, like in a calendar view or something different visually.

Easy

Vorteile

LOVE this, it makes it so easy for my employees to keep track of hours and dates they work. It's also great for me that they can easily swap hours.

Wish I could delete and add regular hours for me to choose from [custom hours area}

when i work

I've tried other scheduling software and I like this the best.

Vorteile

It makes scheduling so easy. Everything is right at my fingertips.

Nachteile

So far no cons. I haven't experienced any problems so far.

I have used this software for about 6 months now and I thought it was quite a bit of help to me

Vorteile

This keeps everything work related to your schedule all in one place and neatly organized. Never having to be late for work again is a beautiful thing

Nachteile

There are other softwares out there that are much simpler and more user-friendly. It's not the easiest software I've ever found to use

A great organization tool

Vorteile

I love how easy it is to schedule with this software. I also very much enjoy having my schedule so readily accessible at all times.

Nachteile

A bit of a learning curve. If you you make a mistake and alter your availability for one day you have to go back and make those changes before you're able to work with future availablilty.

Easy access to scheduling

Very easy to use

Vorteile

I like that I can send directly to an e-mail and phone number, or to just one. It's great when cancelling a shift. All my staff love the notifications when a shift is coming up.

Nachteile

I had to upgrade to allow more staff scheduling. I have several staff and in the beggining it was not allowing me to schedule all staff until it was upgraded.

Love it!

I begin using When I Work when we had only 7 employees and even then, I knew it was making my scheduling much easier. Now that we have over 20 employees, I am so thankful for When I Work and all that goes along with it. The communication between our employees/management is effortless, and now When I Work also has a Time Clock, which in turn will connect with our payroll system - cutting back on many hours of the payroll prep we did before.

-Clean, easy lay out
-Lots of tutorials, so you never miss a beat
-Now has TimeClock which integrates with payroll system, making Scheduling and Payroll a breeze
-Great customer service

I really can't think of any cons!

Very easy to use and works well for a small business.

Vorteile

The price is very affordable. It was very easy to input schedules and the program allows you to keep the schedule layout for employees that have set schedules. The feature I love the most is that there is an app that my employees can download to view their schedules. The app also sends you notifications about your schedule. Its a great software that I wish I had at every place I've worked.

Best Product Support Ever!

I am so thankful I decided to use WIW. Not only has it made my job easier, but the WIW team has supported me 100% through the implementation process. Lots of "user error" on my part and they are fabulous answering questions and trouble shooting super quick. The information they provide is always helpful and goes above and beyond what I would have expected.

You guys are awesome! Wish I could thank each of you personally!

Vorteile

Easy to use, intuitive, and user friendly. Great concept of the "end user".

Nachteile

We aren't "in love" with the way the schedule prints when exported to Excel. We have to manipulate it to put it into a form that our staff can use.

An overall OK software solution for employee time tracking

Good for "Clocking-in" and recording time.

Vorteile

It sends you reminders about when your shift is coming up and helps manage weekly time sheets. You can also request time off and see availability of hours.

Nachteile

"Work Chat" feature does not alert you and frequent refreshes of the page are necessary in order to see new messages.

The Easiest Schedule Building App Out there

It has been incredible and an easy change from my prior work on Kronos, which is really hard to understand LOL

Vorteile

It is so easy to build schedules for multiple employees. I love the interface and how it looks whether you're looking at it on the mobile app or on the computer. It utilizes all of my employees' availabilities and I love having the ability to see that my employee has acknowledged their schedules.

Nachteile

Honestly, I don't have anything negative to say about this piece of software. I use it on a weekly basis and integration into my business was really seamless.

So much better than a Word document table and scraps of paper with requests!

We are a small bridal shop. When I Work has saved me so much time. Our employees use the app to request time off and I don't have to remember the requests of 10 people because When I work stores it for me. I can accept or deny the requests. I can also block days from being requested off. I love it!

Vorteile

I like making a schedule quickly and not having to remember every employee's availability because everything is right there.

Integrates well with other programs, but doesn't really do anything special/new.

It integrates very well with other software/programs. It's easy to use and offers a nice copy template feature.

Nachteile

It doesn't do much that other tools don't. It's very simple for a scheduling platform. It does not have many employee engagement or communication features.

WIW has been a lifesaver for me.

I am so grateful for When I Work (WIW). I was using other software prior to WIW, and didn't realize how much time/stress I was wasting until I gave WIW a try.

It takes some work to get it setup, but from there it's pretty user-friendly. The customer service is top notch, so anytime I have a question, I can send it via chat and get a helpful response within minutes.

WIW is also very aesthetically friendly, and the app makes it incredibly useful for my workers. There are a few functionalities I wish they would add, but it's not deal breakers. I have communicated these desires to their support team, and they sent it to the programmers. (Like, having an area where I can see all OpenShifts on the desktop version. Right now, it only shows OpenShifts that I personally am available for.) I really believe that they will add these features in the future.

When I work review

Easy to use calendar, schedule creation for my employees, a lot of help from this company when I needed it, an affordable purchase price.

Vorteile

I like the way its setup.
I like how easy it is to use.
I like customer service and emailing help is available whenever you need it.
I love the price for the software is affordable.

Nachteile

How hard it is to set up a work schedule for your self or your current employees.
How hard it is to figure out how to use this software program.
How complicated this software program seems at first but isn't once you figure out how to use it properly.

Very User Friendly for Owners and Staff

Vorteile

It is incredibly easy to use. Love the chat feature for the staff. The Attendance option is a great tool as well.

Nachteile

A little challenging to create repeatable shifts. Some times entering and publishing shifts through the app don't get sent

Easy to use and has some amazing features

I like the ease of use, and the fact that employees can download an app that reminds them of when they're scheduled to work.

Nachteile

I dislike that if you don't use the paid version, you can only schedule one or two weeks out at a time.

Didn't work for our needs

They did try to help, but told me I needed a higher level package to do what I needed. I purchased the higher level and sure enough the problem continued until customer service told me I will just have to clock in on one computer, because their system won't allow for an IPv6 address. Which again, was the whole reason why we purchased the next level, to inevitably find out that it won't work regardless. Inquired about a refund since we found out within 2 days that we could not use their system and they declined. I would not recommend this company for the time clock features we were looking for. Great for businesses

Vorteile

It was really useful in terms of keeping work life organized. All my co-workers contacts and the schedule all in one spot!

Nachteile

I haven't see too many companies that have this integrated in their employment scheduling.

I currently use When I Work for my retail job.

Vorteile

I love that I can see my shifts, get alerts, and clock in/out all in the same place. It's also very easy to use and navigate!

Nachteile

Sometimes it crashes! Also, it's hard to "approve" shifts - you're supposed to check a little check mark in the top right corner, but it's really hard to know that unless someone's told you. Also, I wish there was a feature to alert you an hour before your shift.

Totally changes the way we schedule and track time.

Vorteile

- make and send out schedules
- use it as a time clock
- can input pay rates and track payroll
- has an app
- know when someone didn't show up for a shift or was late

Nachteile

- few glitches have put a major wrinkle in our scheduling (since resolved)
- too many alerts sometimes
- had to get creative with the positions and shifts to fit what we need

Efficient time tracking and planning software

I used When I Work to track my work time to invoice correctly. Although the software does what it promises, there are sometimes glitches and times dont always track correctly.

Vorteile

I like How I Work because it allows me to track exact timings for work projects for clients. I can track my time on numerous different devices, so can use wherever I am, and integrate into payroll software.

Nachteile

The software is wholly cloud based, so if you are away from an internet source for a prolonged period of time, you may not be able to upload accurate tracked times.

Easy Scheduling

I liked being able to see my whole teams schedule and to know when someone would be in, or maybe on vacation

Overall a great product

Vorteile

Made managing and tracking employees hours easy at efficient. Really liked the location features and overall easy to use interface

Nachteile

I think the overall aesthetic and user feel could use some improving. It gets the job done but isnt always fun to use

Great for Supervisors

Vorteile

Super easy to keep track of your staff scheduling. Took only a few minutes to set up an account and I was off and running. A staff member will need a very good reason to be late or miss a shift with this.

Nachteile

I forgot to turn off email notifications and went away for a week and my entire inbox was filled with scheduled shift reminders but thats on me.

Best Employee Hour Tracker

Vorteile

I love that When I Work offers a FREE app where I can switch shifts. Other softwares don’t offer an app, and waiting to get on a computer can holdback managers.

I use this to schedule my staff, which is small but mighty!

Vorteile

I love that they can request time off on the app.
I can offer open shifts in one place with out having to make a bunch of phone calls.
I really like the budget feature, so I know how much payroll will be per day.

Nachteile

Other than wanting to publish more than one week at a time on the free version, there are no downsides for me!

Helps immensely with scheduling staff of any size!

We have been using When I Work for a few months now and I cannot say enough about how much it has helped not only on my end as the office manager of a staff of 30+ employees, but with how it has helped their ability to not only know what shift they are working, but to place requests in for time off, etc. I have been spreading the word and the praise about this app/program to everyone I know. It's pretty quickly learned, has some very simple drag & drop functionality. Every time I have had to ask a question or bring up an issue, customer service is right there in a chat online to help me. Everyone I have interacted with is not just someone with a script on their desk of how to help me, but has some actual insight and outside-the-box thinking with regards to how it all works. Great program online, great app on devices, great people behind the scenes.

I Get Told The Schedule I Know I have

I don't really understand the need for it. I get told I work when already know I'm scheduled to work those hours.

Vorteile

I don't 'know. My company uses it and sends me emails telling me I work when I already know I work.

Nachteile

From where I am a part of the process, I just get sent emails.

Employee Rosters

This is a great piece of software that allows us to roster, change and update information across our three properties and know that this information gets to the individual staff concerned. Nice interface and easily accessable over ios and android platforms. We also use wage base and this gives us a nice easy interface between rosters and actual hours worked.

Nachteile

Would love to have some customisable timeoff entries for wagebase so it reflects on employees timesheets and makes more sense for payroll.

Reasonably priced timecard software! We love this! It's easy to keep up with my team and I never have to worry about them reporting their hours anymore.

Difficult

I disliked this software so much that I actually ended up going with a different scheduling software, even though I took the time to set up an account and have staff input all of their information.

Vorteile

This software does make it simple for employees to swap shifts and request time off. It was fairly simple for staff to enter their information. It was also pretty quick for me to initially setup.

Nachteile

I found this software exceedingly hard to setup. It was difficult to use properly and was not worth the effort.

Wish I Would've Chosen

We did a test run with When I Work but the only thing that held us back was the cost. We loved all of the features and integrations. With the new law that was supposed to go into effect for salary overtime, this was the perfect software to choose.

Very efficient and easy to use.

When it does work, my colleagues and I are able to work seamlessly and swap shifts to each other's convenience

Unlike most softwares you can use for payroll this one has an internal chat and you can swap shifts. Makes it really easy to check my schedule

It randomly stops working in the background and the technical support is weak and has a lot of glitches

Love this company!

I have been extremely happy with wheniwork. It has been a huge asset to our company.

Vorteile

User friendly and easy time tracking. Happy and helpful staff to assist with any questions or concerns. They get back to you very quickly when you contact them.
