Weglot is easy to implement on a website, and it automatically translates most of the elements of the website. To start, if you don't have Shopify plus (or a way to duplicate and translate your website), it is probably the best way to start selling internationally ! The English translation is well done, and the Spanish one as well. The customer success team is very available and helpful !

Nachteile

First, you need to delete the old translations yourself if you want to reduce the number of words translated because weglot doesn't do so automatically. If you want to correct a translation, you sometimes have to do it a lot of times. Some elements of the website are not translated, or not all the time. Some customers told us that the German translation is not great; apparently some words are not very well translated.

Vorteile

Set and forget is hard to find with software lately, but weglot does work as intended and it is relatively simple to install and configure. Once done, one can sit back and relax, knowing that future updates won't crash or slow-down the site.

Nachteile

No software is perfect but weglot does what one expects. I didn't always find the response to what I wanted to do in the help section, but technical support is great and replies pretty much immediately.

The platform and software itself functions well: for a small company like ourselves this is great for rolling out multiple languages. Working together with translators in the tool works great.

Nachteile

Translation quality is similar to Google translate so you definitely need to get everything rewritten though. This means extra cost. Also, Weglot support is the worst I've experienced in SaaS. Our website was down several hours because of Weglot and the support team didn't respond at all and didn't have a clue about what was going on.

At first, our website was staying on English even when we tried to switch to other languages using the plugin. But I contacted customer support and [ Sensitive Content ] was incredibly helpful, responsive, and patient as I continued troubleshooting on my end. Customer support is everything these days, especially when so many of us are working from afar, so this quick resolution and responsiveness gave us enormous peace of mind.

For a non-coder like me, what I like most about Weglot is how easy it is to integrate to your website and use. But what makes Weglot stand out, is their 5-star support. Always fast, friendly, with a genuine willingness to help and solve your problem.

It is easy to integrate - and more importantly, it saves an incredible amount of working time. Instead of duplicating all the subpages of the website, after that giving it to a translator, implement the translations, you can do all that with almost 1-click. Best topic: the visual editor. Second best: the awesome service and kind people at Weglot.

Sometimes you have to do a second reload in the visual editing mode. But, hey, that is whining at a high level.

I like how WeGlot allowed me to have a website that was translated in several languages, it allowed me to reach out to a stronger population and more organization. I feel like it is an added value for anyone's website.

It was really hard to get it going and I experienced a lot of issues with the English to French translation. I needed to make a lot of changes on my own instead of letting the platform do it automatically.

The software is installed with just a few clicks and the machine translations are immediately visible. That means you have your translation of your page immediately. Weglot is very quick to learn because of the many videos.

In my case, I would like to highlight the support. I had some problems because we had previously installed another translation APP and the code remnants hindered Weglot. Weglot support has always helped me very quickly and very effectively. Really the best support you can expect. Thanks to [SENSITIVE CONTENT]!

Nachteile

The price is comparatively expensive, but quality has its price. A good app with fast and good support has its price. I am also interested in the app being further developed and constantly improved.

The biggest benefit of Weglot is that it saves us so much time. The automated translations, combined with the visual editor, makes for a super fast workflow to translate a website while maintaining high quality.

Nachteile

The lack of subdirectories was one aspect but they've fixed it (it's currently in beta).

Another annoyance was the lack of informal tone for the automated translation. Some languages such as French or Dutch make a distinction between the formal and informal tone ("tu/vous" or "jij/u"). The automated translation by default translates to the formal tone, which wasn't in line with how we communicate.

I really like the flexibility of the translations and how easy it is to modify them, track subscription usage and optimize translations.

I don't know if it comes directly from WeGlot, but words that aren't displayed on the pages are continually being translated, taking up part of the consumption (number of words), and I have to delete them all the time.

Of course, the product itself is great and does what needs to be done. I installed it without any IT background. It is really easy to use. It could probably be improved on some points although nothing comes immediately to my mind. What I want to emphasize here is the customer service quality. Rapidity, efficiency, kindness,... but also what lacks the most in such "IT" service, a real customer-oriented support. Actually, I think the product works already so well and has so few flows that the people behind it are bored and therefore so happy to help when finally someone gets a question :-).

Nachteile

The invoicing system. I do not yet totally understand how consumption is calculated. Once the translation is done, that you have 1 or 1.000.000 views, it should not differ in rate so much. We just reach a limit of views and the service stopped. I needed to switch to another category which makes it much more expensive. (Although the translation job has already been done).

Weglot has been super easy for us to implement within our BigCommerce store.

The functionality is excellent with the ability to have it running within minutes or customise as needed.

We've customised it to fit within our store theme and have multiple subdomains setup.

Within 24 hours of adding the subdomains to Google we were receiving new traffic and orders so it's already delivering a return on investment.

L'implantation de WEGLOT se fait de manière très efficace et rapide. Bien qu'elle nécessite un peu de lecture, une fois le processus terminé, toutes les traductions sont générés de façon automatiques afin de faciliter la tâche. Cette automatisation me permet d'avoir l'esprit tranquille quand j'ajoute du nouveau contenu à la version principale du site, car je sais que ce contenu sera traduit automatiquement. La fonctionnalité de vérification manuelle permet aussi de s'assurer que l'entièreté des traductions du site est validée en tout temps.

WEGLOT n'offre que très peu d'options de personnalisation du bouton de langues présent sur le site web. Bien qu'il y ai quelques options de personnalisation disponible (afficher ou non le drapeau de la langue, le nom complet de la langue, menu déroulant), aucune personnalisation de polices, de taille ou de couleur existe d'emblée. Par contre le service à la clientèle est rapide et efficace et nous a aider à personnaliser notre bouton.

Overall Weglot works really well with Thinkific. The machine translation is of high quality, and the admin interface is intuitive and easy to use. Kudos to Weglot's excellent support: they respond swiftly, and have been able to solve all the issues we've encountered so far.

The integration could have been easier. There have been several occasions that I've had to turn to Weglot's support to resolve an issue. These issues have been minor for the most part, but still meaningful. Also, the way to implement the language switcher with videos could be a bit more straightforward.

It's very easy to use and the best part, it's easy to maintain. When we change part of our website it automatically carries over to the other language(s). All we need to do is quickly double check the automatic translation (8/10 we need no changes!) and that's it!

Localization for German-Switzerland is still missing... it's a minor thing since German-Germany is mostly the same, but would be an appreciated feature for the future.

Translation is and has been always a major issue on all websites, it basically means you have to produce the same content twice. Weglot makes it very easy, just add an entry to your DNS file and add a snippet to your header and boom your website is translated in basically any language you want. The user won't even notice it, since you can enable to automatically select the right language based on browser settings. Automatic translation is good but not perfect, but therefore weglot offers a visual editor where you can refine your translation manually, which is a key feature. If you are to busy for that they offer professional translations, I haven't tried them though. Also they don't try to translate fixed expressions that you want to keep in English. All in all it is the perfect package.

It is probably pricing, it offers good value for money but if your cannot capitalize your business with translated content thant it might be not with it to you.
