Über viele Jahre der Nutzung habe ich keinerlei Nachteile vonABBYY Finreader feststellen können!!!

Vorteile

Nichts ist bei Finreader besser im Vergleich zum pdf-Transformer, den ich weiterhin sehr gerne verwende.

Nachteile

Umwandlung von älteren Office-Versionen nur sehr eingeschränkt möglich!Word-Überschriften können nicht in Lesezeichen umgewandelt werden.

Vorteile

Dass man auch komplizierte Aufgaben schnell erledigen kann.

Nachteile

alles ist gut für meinen Bedarf, es gibt nichts was mir besonders wenig gefallen hätte. An der Oberfläche kann man immer noch optimieren

Outstanding OCR capabilities are expertise of ABBYY Finereader PDF.Compatible with other documents tools , Especially MS office.Accurate conversion of files, consist of tables , figures and other similar data.Very easy interface, organizing documents in pages is very quick.Editing E signature to protect files is also helpful for me.

Nachteile

ABBYY Fine reader PDF is bit pricey among other PDF Editors.Sometimes it freeze during loading Large Documents.

The suite of features is far more expansive than my other PDF related products. The document management, document conversion, digital signatures, and the giant array of supported file types made this an easy choice for me. Especially when I started using it and realized that the UI was intuitive and top notch!

Nachteile

There is not a lot I dislike about it. I think the only part that was a little difficult was getting the digital signature process set up how I wanted it to be in my workflow. It was the only area in the application that I really had to do some looking up to see how to get the most out of it.

It is an excellent PDF editing tool that offers you an all-in-one PDF solution in one place. You can easily create, edit PDFs, or even convert your documents to PDF files.
You can easily merge multiple PDFs into one PDF file or split a PDF document into multiple PDFs. Even you can compress them to a smaller size.
You can save time and money by signing PDFs digitally instead of manually printing and signing them.

Currently, I have no dislike about ABBYY FineReader PDF.

You can quickly and easily convert files into other formats without having to upload them somewhere online. I also like the fact that it allows you to edit PDF documents as they are, without the need for creating endless Word files, implementing changes and then converting them into new PDFs.

Nachteile

The OCR tool doesn't work as seamlessly for all the languages: the program makes many more mistakes when it comes to recognizing non-Latin character based languages, for example, Russian. Same thing for texts written in two, three, etc. columns: sometimes it merges two columns together and the resulting text makes no sense.

ABBYY FineReader PDF turned out to be an incredibly accurate OCR, combined with the recognition of over 190 languages, an excellent way to work directly in PDF, but at a much lower cost. All this, combined with the incredibly good and fast support makes the product excellent for the needs of anyone who works with PDF files.

Nachteile

I can't point to anything I don't like. I use most of the functionalities and I am satisfied. The only thing that can cause a problem is the not always accurate conversion from PDF to Excel.

Some of the features and functions have not been where I would expect to find them in the menus. That is because I was Adobe Acrobat for almost 20 years. During that time, however, I was using Abby Screenshot Reader for everything I wanted to capture for just text.

its accuracy in recognizing characters and formatting the output almost exact to the input file.

Nachteile

That it does not have very sophisticated image preprocessing, for example in the detection and elimination of signatures and seals, which in some cases makes pages saturated with them unrecognizable by ABBY FineReader.

The main features my office utilizes is merging/organizing pages and editing content. ABBY makes both of these tasks quick and easy, even for less tech savvy employees.

Nachteile

Not a real con for the program, my office uses ABBY for basic functions, I am sure there are a lot of features offered that I cannot speak on.

Getting it re-upped. I have paid for the fee and have a receipt but still it isn't done. I now have a diminished service that is of no help to me. I and the University have contacted ABBYY via email and message form.

It is a high quality productivity app. It has a lot of awesome features to process many different kind of file formats, especially PDFs. I have been using it since 2014, and it is my #1 productivity app.

Nachteile

As a Mac user, I would love the app to be compatible with AppleScript for automatization purposes. Previous verions of the software (FineReader OCR Pro), is compatible with AppleScript.

I was quite OK with previous versions of ABBYY FineReader - been using it for about 10 years.

However, ABBYY FineReader 16 on a Win 10 machine is saving scanned PDF docs with pages of different sizes. I did not find any solution in ABBYY knowledge base, and was not able to submit a service ticket since the SUBMIT button just did not respond without any hints. A typical case of product degradation :((

Output to Excel (tables are really not fully detected, even text within cells, with a lot of work to do in the end) and Word (every text appear converted in annoying frames, difficult to remove or manage at all) mostly have to be really improved to be the best.
OCR must be improved very much. You have bad result if you want to recognize document in Greek (most part of diacritics are not well detected) and, with Hebrew, is literally a worst situation (you have not vowels and all diacritics). If you try to do by yourself, using custom OCR training, it's a very long journey and you don't even get a good result, and many times it's even not so clear if you are using your custom training set or not and even is really not clear why you cannot use one only feature to perform "verify" and "ocr training" in one only function/feature/action.

Once I familiarized myself with the interface, the program worked as needed. No need to keep referring back to Dr Google or support.

The initial interface. It took me a few weeks to look for things. For example, it was easy to delete a page...remove a page and set up a different PDF? That one has too many steps.

The MAIN reason I use ABBY Finereader is to convert multi-page pdf invoices to Excell so that they can be dissected and analyzed. I have tried all other pdf to Excel converters and they all botch them up completely with misaligned rows and columns, making the task more excruciating. ABBY is the ONLY app available that can quickly adjust rows and columns to an exact OCR match. Invaluable!

Learning curve to use all the features can be a bit tedious but not overwhelming.

Software is easy to use and the pdf conversion and image recognition is pretty great. I compared it versus a few python algorithms and ABBYY performed better and with the advantage of creating a searchable file.

Nachteile

The Mac functionality is pretty basic. It would need to have more features. Conversion from pdf to txt is good, but it could be better: some documents that used special symbols weren’t properly converted for example. This is important when using the software with documents in languages other than English.

An excellent tool for research, OCR makes it easier for blind people to access documents by activating Word and PDF read-aloud tools. This is essential for consulting large amounts of text at university as well.

When the source images are not of high quality, OCR fails, so it is necessary to edit by hand. This happens especially with old texts, with strange fonts, or with texts that have been highlighted.
