Powerful but Complex for Pharma Marketing
Vorteile
I use Marketo Engage in the pharmaceutical industry, and I appreciate how it streamlines compliance-heavy marketing. The lead scoring and segmentation help us engage HCPs effectively, while CRM integration improves sales follow-ups. Plus, the analytics tools are essential for measuring success in a regulated environment.
Nachteile
One challenge with Marketo Engage in the pharmaceutical industry is that compliance-driven customization can be complex. Setting up workflows for regulatory approval takes time, and the learning curve is steep. Also, reporting could be more intuitive, especially when tracking multi-channel engagement.

Customizable to Your Business
Vorteile
Marketo is robust and can be configured to meet most business cases. It integrates well with many systems/services. For example, Marketo integrates better with Salesforce than Salesforce Marketing Cloud. There is a solid user group/community. Things like Content AI and Web Personalization take personalization across your digital marketing to the next level. Training is required to use a lot of features.
Nachteile
You have to build your own preference center. This doesn't come out-of-the-box. UI is bad, and Marketo Sky will help fix this, but it's taking forever for Marketo Sky to get to a point where I can actually use it. Many features do cost extra but you can pick and choose. Landing page templating is lacking without a dedicated devloper.

Lead Lifecycle Management is the most likeable feature. I can design the entire journey of the campaign and leads as per the action on CTA & requests.
Nachteile
Steps can be reduced for designing the campaign or automated at various junctions in Email marketing nurture campaigns.

One of the best Marketing Automation Tool!
Overall Marketo is one stop for all the digital marketing activities, database, and analytics. I simply love it!
Vorteile
Easy to use, One solution for all the marketing leads, nurturing campaigns, pulling different reports, and ROI calculation. Integration with different tools like salesforce etc., makes it even easier for the marketing activities.
Nachteile
Sometimes it gets trickier to create programs and a smart list. Too many filter options might be confusing.

I can't imagine managing my leads without Marketo
Vorteile
Marketo enables you to easily track leads across the buyer's journey and also manage your leads to place them in product specific nurtures. There is a lot of information that you can store and act on for each lead in your database.
Nachteile
Marketo can be tough to learn at first, but when you get the hang of it, and begin to understand how it works, things start to click.

Adobe has killed Marketo
Good company and product that now is heading south. I would not recommend them at this point.
Vorteile
Marketo used to be a very customer-focused company and the product was (and still is) very good. User-friendly, lots of features and functions, good user community.
Nachteile
Customer service now SUCKS. Seriously poor. It's all about taking as much money from customers as possible. They are including an automatic "8% increase" in your price for the following year. How can you put a future price increase in a one year contract? Only an idiot would sign this and when pointed out to their "customer service" people, they didn't get the issue. So I guess they hire idiots for that job now.

Marketo - Game Changing Marketing Automation
We have been able to really advance or lead management and marketing automation capabilities, uncovering new ways of working and process improvements as a result of adopting this technology.
Vorteile
The platform is so robust if you can imagine an automated workflow it has seemed to be something that you can bring to life. We continuously are suprised to learn about its robust capabilities to automate so many tasks and workflows not only in Marketo but with Salesforce, which we have intergrated as well as outlook.
Nachteile
At times the system can take a while to load, especially if you are trying to pull down a large about of data at one time.

Great Lead Nurturing Tool
Vorteile
Marketo was built for lead nurturing, and it does that well. The integration with Salesforce is pretty robust.
Nachteile
The tool leaves a little to be desired when it comes to email marketing, but they have made improvements in recent years (for example, a better analytics dashboard.)

Marketo Review
I've been using Marketo for about 4 years now, it's great, does exactly what you want to do. The only problem is you need to be a marketo expert for it to work the way you want. It takes a long time to scale as a user.
