The software is fully comprehensive of what it can do. Full funtionality and great options. It has works seemlessly across mutliple platforms.

Nachteile

It's not intuitive for the novice user. So simple tasks are just not that simple to figure out. Will need to set aside a few hours to learn some more basic features.

It is a powerful and versatile design tool that allows you to design, retouch images, and create graphic vectors, you only have to pay once, and its features make it one of the best and most complete softwares in the graphic market

The only drawback of this software, is that there are no precision tools or shape building, it is a bit basic, but it is still a very complete program

The program is so fast and smooth. All edits and changed are live before they're applied and everything is fluid even on a not very powerful machine.

Some of the features found in other competing programs like Adobe Illustrator are not found in Affinity Designer and the features that are similar aren't as powerful. Adding custom brushes is also quite a pain compared to other brands.

Affinity Designer loads faster compared to similar software. It has a good UI with options of choosing between light or dark interfaces. It works similar to Illustrator and it is inexpensive compared to the latter.

Nachteile

It doesn't have a lot of learning materials available online so the learning curve is a bit steep.
Despite being affordable, I think it is not marketed enough.

Honestly, the price attracted me to this software, but I've since found that the quality is better than even much more known and higher priced competitor's programs.

I love that Affinity Designer works so well with Affinity Photo (another WONDERFUL program) and Affilnity Publisher.

It's easy to use when first you figure out its logic. And you can reuse "templates" which will save you tons of time.

Nachteile

The only hiccup I've noticed so far is that sometimes, when you install an update, then you can't start the program. Something goes wrong. You'll have to restart your computer and install the update again, and then it works. (At least, that has worked for me every time.)

Affinity Designer is affordable with everything that Illustrator offers and more. The best features of this program are the ability to switch between vector and raster, alongside their isometric tool to make 3 dimensional landscapes.

Nachteile

The only thing missing is an Image Trace feature but believe they will add it as they develop their software more.

Price/Value is crazy for this product. As a Web Developer the need to open AI files and that is all was tough to justify the larger Adobe CC cost. So when Designer came out, the EPS/AI support ability to open, modify and export as SVG was a life saver! I barely scratch the surface of the potential of this product but even as a non artistic technical person I found great use from this product!

Nachteile

The learning curve of any vector product is rough. It really takes time to learn the features and because it is often directly compared to it's adobe counterpart , you may have a tough time switching.

I like that Affinity Designer is a one-time fee. There are no subscriptions and it's a great alternative to Adobe.

Nachteile

There are some files that do not open as well as they would in Adobe. So if you are sharing design layouts make sure the other person receives what you share. If they are opening your files in another software.

Affinity Designer is a great tool for graphic design. It offers pretty much all the features you want and the cost is very affordable. I've used Gimp, Pixelmator, and Photoshop but compare the cost and features, Affinity Designer wins.

So far there's nothing I don't like because it does what it should. I guess if I had to pick something, perhaps it needs more addon brushes etc.

I only started using this recently, but not as often. I used it because a friend installed it for me. It was like an upgrade to paint and downgrade to photoshop. It has great features. The big plus is that its simple to use!

I do not like that i was limited in doing certain things that i would have be able to in photoshop. However, i could be just me not knowing how.

- UI could be a bit more intuitive, something akin to how Sketch transformed UI design, but I suppose there is something to be said about making it easy for designers coming from the Adobe suite of products.

My favorite part about Affinity Designer is that I don't need to pay monthly like the market-leading competitor. This is by far the better budget pick but does not skimp on features or capabilities.

Nachteile

There is a small learning curve but significantly reduced if you are already familiar with Illustrator or Photoshop. This program also tends to take up a decent amount of CPU for me.

Software is intuitive and can do all the things other brand name competitor software programs can do.

Sometimes high-content images are slower to manipulate and edit. However this doesn't occur on a frequent occasion.

Product is professional. Rich with features and has pleasing UI. You can do 90% of everything you do in Adobe Illustrator CC. This is the best alternative for professional vector design.

Snapping is sometimes confusing, especially if you are coming from Adobe Illustrator CC. There is no easy way of defining custom patterns.

I love it ease of use. I'm not an artist by any measure. Yet, I could still use this software to fulfil my professional needs: to make illustrations and tweak the visuals of plots for research papers.

Nachteile

It lack some features that would be useful for me. For instance, it doesn't support parametric fonts.
I also would love if it had support for mathematical expressions, but I realize that this would be too much.
And finally, when I open a PDF, it seems to always vectorise all text. That's really undesirable.

The software is very easy to use, especially on the iPad, it allows me to create images for my clients and that at a lower cost because it is to be purchased only once without subscription.

I did not encounter any major problems with affinity the software is very positive compared to its price

Well Ultimately, my main use is for vector Art and files, which is the ability to never loose clarity in designs with whatever you're working on. Vector files stay perfect in quality no matter how how far you zoom in within the program, which makes your final export in the desired resolution look wonderful!

Nachteile

The product's biggest tool is the user, so some things take getting use to, like navigating hidden tools and filters. Although it's not major for me, the User Friendly system could use a step up, but when there's so many tools and options to get the same results, it makes figuring out certain things a task for others until you get the hang of it.

Vorteile

Works well for creating a svg drawing files on 'the laptop/desktop.

Nachteile

The mobile version is not easy for students to use on the iPad.

It's a seamless combination of vector and raster design tools, it allows editing SVG, AI, EPS, and PDF files.
If you are familiar with Illustrator the learning curve is simple, the controls are very intuitive and it's very easy to adapt, a great budget alternative to other design software.

Unfortunately lacks some features available in Illustrator but since Affinity is constantly updating and improving its software, they can be at the same level in a very short time.

This is a robust program that gets you a lot of bang for your buck. It is a great alternative to Adobe Illustrator in many ways and I recommend it to people who want to get started in designing things who don't have the need for vector capabilities.

No vector capabilities! This is it's one fatal flaw in my opinion.

The price, of course and the fact that it's easier to manipulate and more robust than other vector drawning programs. I tested it as a replacement of a well-known vector software, and fell in love with it. I use it every day, to nearly all the use you can imagine a such a tool. Really one of the best value you can find !

Affinity's perpetual licensing is particularly attractive for people coming from Adobe. The software has all of the features you'd want, but is even more intuitive than competing products.

The app can sometimes take a little while to load up on the first launch on certain devices, presumably due to license checking.

I really like being able to move between pixel work and vector work. It's a very fast and fluid piece of software with amazing zoom ability. Another feature I particularly like is the way it uses masks. Making it very quick to add or take things out of the mask. For the price this is a such a great product and even better it's not lumbered with a silly subscription. Basically it does 99% of what InDesign does but for the price of a few weeks InDesign subscription.

Nachteile

Currently it has two issues for me. One is solvable the other I don't think is. The first one I can get around is drop caps. The solution is a bit clumsy but works. The second one I can't get around, and that's linking text boxes.

On touch screen nothing better than affinity. The purchase in one go is an advantage not to spend every month. the use on touch screen allows very beneficial maneuvers

Affinity’s products are top notch. Their desktop and iOS versions are both so intuitive and full-featured. With any designer software, the learning curve will take a while. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll have no regrets going with Affinity. One of the best things about Affinity is the affordability.

There are not a lot of cons to Affinity Designer, or their other programs. It crashes occasionally — make sure to save as you edit if you are dealing with larger files than usual.

I like it. After many years of using Adobe products I switched over to Affinity and I am happy with the switch. The transition was pretty painless and I like the interface better. The one time purchase price and a low price at that is a big plus for me over a monthly contract to use adobe stuff. Overall satisfied.

Nachteile

There are a few areas where there was a fast and easy way to do something with the "other" software that I miss on the Affinity version. There are probably tricks, customizations and work arounds that I just haven't discovered yet though.

The fact that the software was designed for tablets is a good thing. Easy to use and allows very precise handling. Very pleasant software, the one-time fee is very useful

Price. You can't beat a one-time purchase. That is the biggest selling point of this software. I currently subscribe to Adobe CC, and actively looking for ways to switch.

Learning Curve. I can't even begin to talk about the learning curve involved. [Inkscape] has less of a learning curve, and it is free. The Affinity team needs to work on their keyboard shortcuts and improve them.

My least favorite thing was some of the placement and locations of tools and panels. That may be partly due to having used Adobe apps for so many years.

Great feature set. Good UI. Does everything I need it to. I switched to Affinity from adobe and the transition was pretty much problem free. In fact I prefer working with the affinity products. I love that I was able to buy it outright for a nominal fee instead of a monthly subscription and cloud based type of thing.

There are some shortcuts and quick key type of functions that I am missing, although I may be able to set them up with some research and custom configuration. The functions are all there but sometimes the flow isn't.

I have used this software to complement my other design applications in a time where I felt compelled to experiment with low cost / high functionality software as an alternative to photo editing softwares like photoshop. Certain features of this app are very similar to photoshop, thus making professional designing much easier to attain pricepoint wise- plus it has features photoshop does not have.

The ease of use is signficantly high, the workflow with it and integrateable asset management is slightly different and there were certain tools and features i use oftentimes in photoshop not really present in Affinity

- carries over much of the functionality from Photoshop

- coming from Photoshop, the UI takes a while to get used to. Many tools/commands are similar but different

Surprisingly, this software packs in most of what Adobe Illustrator has, but without the monthly fees. That is one heck of an offering! Although I still prefer Illustrator, I often recommend Designer to a lot of my student friends that are learning design on a budget. It's a great tool!

Nachteile

Still not quite as good as Adobe. They are getting closer and closer... But haven't yet hit the mark. I've heard they may come out with an iPad app, which would make me think about switching. Stay tuned, I guess!

Has reduced my time in two other programs (Photoshop and Illustrator) and is less heavy on system resources. Interface is simple and familiar to those who have used Photoshop. Serif aren't looking to redesign the wheel but offer a faster way of achieving similar results.

Sure, this product has a great potential to be Illustrator worthy. For one, it has a lot of the great features of it's competitor Adobe product, But then you would still need to find another program to complete something that Illustrator does all in one. Yet, Affordable.

Although they have all the Artboards you need, it won't replace illustrator completely. But I would recommend this product based on the fact it can get some simple designs done for less.

What do I like the most about this gem? Well, everything! The vector design tools are on point and there are so many features that I've still haven't used them all, I like how you can produce and export high quality graphics in a matter of minutes.

I also love the filters that can make your art look 3D, or add instant shadow!

Nachteile

There's nothing wrong with this software in general, I love it, however, it may be me, but sometimes when I overwhelm it with too many filter effects it shuts down due to error, it could be my laptop.

I love that I can get a full-functioning design software for my Mac without spending a ton of money on Adobe. Affinity is one of the best reviewed and functioning options out there.

It's a learning curve. I've used Pixelmator for a while, and got Affinity Designer for the projects that it's more applicable for, but honestly haven't taken the time to learn how to use it better. Just the learning curve is a con- but that's with any new software.

I am enjoying using affinity designer for doint some work for my school projects. I am currently using the iPad version and it has been wonderful. I was able to start using it quickly, but still there are tons of features that I am not aware of. I am so eager to learn all the features the this app provides.

I love the toolset that is offered to me at a price that makes complete sense. No longer do I have to pay for a much more expensive graphic design solution to get similar tools. The user interface is design well to fit nicely into the visuals of my Mac. Affinity runs smooth, and is pretty easy to get familiar with. It's similar enough to other design applications where I'm not completely lost, but unique enough to feel different, new, and powerful. I love that I opens vector/eps, Photoshop, and other pro formats. And the formatting of those file types don't get jacked up like it sometimes does when opening with another competing product that I've used in the past.

Nachteile

Sometimes it's difficult to decide between using Affinity Design or Affinity Photo for a project. For me, and it's probably just the type of project I normally do, I usually end up using Affinity Photo.

The ability to import *.AI documents without damage them is undoubtedly one of the most great features that the software has. You can do the same that on Illustrator but in a comfortable budget.

Nachteile

Even when you can do the same activities than illustrator it's a little bit confusing how it works.
Frequently I have to look for help on video tutorials, because simply I ca't figure out to make some things.

Vorteile

I love the cost of Affinity Designer. A one-off straightforward price. The features are more than adequate for most designers and it competes with the behemoths of Design/Drawing software.

Nachteile

The only issue for me was the changeover from my other design software. Having to relearn toolbars, shortcuts and menus took a little while, but cost savings overall made it worth the effort.

One of the catchy things About this software, it’s the one time payment that is affordable , and one of the thing that makes it great is that they are consistently improving it . Over it all I love their support on their website and their tutorials on YouTube. The features are easy to use that even a beginner could manipulate it with ease.
