It has all possible capabilities for professional designers, usable intuitively once the procedures are learned. Above all, the price is very low, perfect for freelancers and small businesses.

It does have a learning curve because it can do so much, but it ends up handling fairly intuitively. Professionals need all those capabilities, so that's the price you pay for being able to do what you want.

First of all, the cost is very low, if compared with Adobe softwares. Affinity is a very good design software, very intuitive and beautiful. One of the best features is the possibility of editing bitmaps and vector at the same time, in the same workspace. That's just great.

Nachteile

There's only one thing I missed: support to touch workspace. For people who work with illustration, it's a great function.

I have used Affinity since it first came out. I instantly loved it but in the beginning it was not as robust as adobe. It has slowly add more features and now I like it more than adobe. It is great

I'm personally user of several SERIF products so I was very happy to get a new generation software solution. And is very good. This is a fantastic media editor/designer for some serious work. There are plenty of options for all type of design needs. My personal is light tool that can make very interesting effects.

Some time, with bigger files, work becomes slow, for no reasons. Also, in very rare options, program can froze. Learning curve for some options is slightly problematic.

Great suite of tools. Reliably performance. Good UI, reasonably customizable workflow. Single purchase with free updates is great compared to subscription.

Limited toolset compared to Illustrator. Slightly less customizable compared to Illustrator. Some limitations with using native files on other programs, but this is the case with all vector programs.

Affinity Designer is high-class software. It has every feature that you would ever need for designing vector-based artwork. Unlike Illustrator, Affinity Designer *also* has a powerful raster-art mode (called a "persona") that allows you to mix vector and raster art effortlessly. It's really a joy to use.

Nachteile

As with any complex software, there is a learning curve. Affinity makes it easier to learn Designer by way of several videos that you may watch. They also have a workbook that you can buy, if you'd like to follow along with a project-based approach to learning. Lynda.com also has a nice video series on Affinity Designer.

This application will help you blend in photos like as if thats how it was photographed ,you edit ,cut and past like you want.you are able to undo what you dont like and re-edit, it has some tools for facial touch to give you the effect you need,the color quality is nice

What I like the most in Affinity Designer is that it's a lot more cheaper (one time payment) alternative for old Illustrator with monthly subscriptions.

You know, I get used to work in illustrator so it's not that easy switch for me as it's a bit different UI.

It allows you to complete projects using minimal features on portable devices. So you can basically design on the go.

The features although it allows you to work on the go are not easy to figure out. Therefore the program has a learning curve that takes longer than others which is a little off-putting.

It is MUCH more affordable than its counterpart, Adobe Illustrator with almost the same functionality.

The platform looks different from Illustrator, making it difficult to navigate at times. There are some issues related to how recent the program is as well. For example, there is limited customer support online, particularly for custom ideas; important tools, such as the knife tool, that have not yet been incorporated. In the future, I expect the program will be much more complete than it is currently.

If you compare Affinity Designer to its competitors, you'll see that it's really cheap. You only need to pay once and then you own the software for life.

Works extremely fluently on mac and the interface is well adopted.
After checking different alternatives (free and paid ones) I've found this one to have the best balance of functionality and price. Hope that the company will keep the no-subscription pricing model as well as reasonable price tag in future.

The most annoying thing is the default save in the own format. As a programmer I can understand the reasons for that, but still if I'm making minor changes to a file, it makes sense to keep the original format. At least try proposing to save in different one, but keep the original one with default selection. The 'save' hotkey is usually used automatically and here you need to go through export...

I think the price is the most appealing part, which is then only a close second to the fact that this runs on iOS, macOS and Windows. The software is capable and seems to do everything it says it does.

Nachteile

However, that's where the praise stops. I found it to be laggy and unresponsive, lacking feature parity with apps from the Adobe suite and with an interface that someone manages to make even Adobe's apps look clean and polished. For the record, my review is of the macOS version, I have not tried the Windows or iOS versions, which may be better.

Designer is pretty easy to self-learn and get started with. It’s also a one-time purchase, so there is no need to worry if you are getting your monthly licensing fees out of it.

Although it’s easier to learn than illustrator, it’s still full of things to figure out. Luckily, there are lots of great tutorials online and videos on youtube to learn from.

The main feature of Affinity Designer, in my opinion, is the concept of "Personas": the interface changes and groups together all tools related to a task, according to what kind of work I'm doing. For example, the Draw Persona highlights all tools related to vector-based curves and shapes; the Pixel Persona prioritizes tools related to working with brushes; and so on.

I think the exporting abilities could use some improvement; sometimes a layer or filter may end up lost during the exporting process, which interferes with the final result.

Ever since Adobe switched to their monthly payments, I've been a little bitter. They're the industry standard and I couldn't find a suitable replacement. I've been very impressed by Affinity Designer, though. The cost is low, the functionality is almost the same. I haven"t been using it enough to completely say I'm ready to give up Adobe, but so far I'm amazed at hoe much this software can do.

I don't have any complaints about this software, although it feels weird to be working outside of the Adobe Suite.

I am occasionally in need of a design program for websites and logos. I could never justify the cost of Adobe software. Affinity Designer gives me all the power I need to do what I need to do at a fraction of the cost.

This application, unlike some of its competitors, is very affordable and offers a 'buy once, use forever' option. In terms of features and style, it seems similar to Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.

The Affinity line of products is truly amazing. I use Designer as well as Photo and I can easily say that I many never go back to Adobe products again. One time purchase, not a recurring fee. Even their mobile apps are excellent.

Some of the workflows are a bit different than what you might be use to in Illustrator. That being said, there are some shortcuts that I feel should have been used in the Adobe apps we've all used.

Nothing!!! just so good... missing some features which is identifying PMS colours or other attributes of an object but I am sure they will add these in time.... and you can check PMS on the internet just a bit of a hassle....but why keep paying for illustrator or other expensive designer software when this is simply the best at the best price

The fact that Affinity Designer is the best vector-based drawing software on the market right now and so incredibly affordable is outrageously great. The interface is very intuitive and well-organized, and super easy to use and get a handle on quick. There's everything to love about this software.

As it offers a lot of functionality, it is not as optimized as Illustrator for connected workflows.
Adobe offers a pretty good sync option which lets you make changes in real time between two related Applications.
This is only relevant if you use Illustrator with After Effects for example.

Excellent design software. In most cases it will be a great replacement for Adobe CC tools. It's powerful yet affordable. I like its pricing politics, that you pay just once and use it forever. No subscriptions, no monthly payments, no hassle :)

There are times when we need to deal with vector illustrations. Adobe Illustrator was considered and then I found Affinity Designer. It is a reasonably priced alternative and offers all of the features we need for graphic design. This isn't a subscription based software, so after you try it you can buy it. Before purchasing this software we were hiring third-party designers to do the tasks that can now be done with Affinity Designer. Saves us money and time waiting for projects to be done.

There's a lot to it and not not as intuitive as other software programs that I have used. But the good news is there is a book you can purchase Affinity Designer Workbook which offers step by step instructions.
