Appmixer platform is very flexible and comes with a good set of components. You can access and modify these components' source code, which is a great help. The flexibility of the Appmixer platform enables flow programming to a very high degree, making the implementor's life much easier. The team behind Appmixer is very supportive; they allocate time to brainstorm compelling cases and sincerely listen to your feedback. The pricing is the only one that makes sense in the iPaaS market. We reviewed in detail probably all of the competitors in the market, both technically and business-wise; Appmixer made the most sense with its connectors, runtime engine, cost structure, flexibility, sales and operational support.

Nachteile

Appmixer's runtime enabled various advanced use cases for us, we only had difficulty in shaping Appmixer platform into an authorization management center (which is really not advertised as such). But thanks to the stellar support from the team, we were now being given the tools and changes necessary in Appmixer platform to let us centralize our 3rd party authorizations in Appmixer, alongside integration flows. Not sure if this counts as dislike!

Vorteile

The ability to host the solution ourselves and extend it with our own code. This made processes around security and privacy significantly simpler as it is running on our own infrastructure. Being able to extend it with our own code also meant that we were able to build an entirely novel product that appears entirely native to our platform.

Nachteile

The product is evolving very quickly, which is excellent in most respects but can have some trade-offs. Documentation can be missing in some places, and there have been a few quirks leftover from earlier iterations of the product. Still, the Appmixer team is incredibly responsive to requests for information and has implemented a significant number of enhancements based on suggestions we had made.

What I appreciate most is the ease of building integration templates for our team and the option to let customers eventually create their own workflows. This is a real win for flexibility and empowers our customers in a way we hadn’t been able to before.

I don't see anything bad generally, maybe integrating AI with predefined model may help us quickly build the solutions we want without relying heavily on backend engineers.

Open-ended SDK that allows us to configure and build out our solutions on top of the engine/platform, rather than be constrained by a prebuilt product.

Nachteile

Some gaps around our use-cases (which is why the SDK piece is critical). The software is more geared towards quick automation pipelines, moreso than towards long-running workflows with automation steps. We had to customize the way that Wait states work to solve for our use case. Wish this had been easier out of box.

It's great to have a program such as Appmixer that allows for connections to be built between applications, for us, it has helped improved automation in our company, and will continue to do so, making our work more efficient!

Sometimes the updates were not as efficient as they could be, with some troubleshooting errors on basic functions, but we are sure this will be changed soon enough in the next update!

Appmixer is a scalable platform that copes very well with high data throughput, which was crucial for our use case. We use the self-hosted method and it works almost out of the box with only very simple steps for deployment. Support from the Appmixer development team has also been great!

Nachteile

Not much to dislike about the platform or the team. One thing that can be improved is streamlining their release process.
