The basic templates can get you up and running quickly, but if you need to do any heavy customization it can be a bit cumbersome and eat up your time. Best to stick to a good template and not customize it too much.

It is very easy to use and gets a daily content creator's job done. As a Youtuber, I can say that it doesn't require a lot of experience in video editing. I have used high-end softwares in the past but this gets my basic video editing job done. It has a lot of preloaded effects and transitions. Great for content creation and basic animations.

There isn't really a lot of customization available on this software. Also, I was using the paid version and it is pretty expensive for a person who doesn't make any money through his/her content. Many people can't pay for softwares when they're starting.

It does not show you what materials and functions are only for the Pro Plan before you complete and go to the purchasing step. I completed my video making, and then I was told that I have to buy to starter plan to export it in MP3 format. I purchased it, and then I was told that I have used some pro stuff, like effects and pictures, in my video. In order to keep them, I have to buy a Pro Plan. Why am I not told ahead of time??? Moreover, they would not refund me the money I spent on the Starter Plan. Why do I need to pay twice????
In the end, I paid for the Starter Plan, monthly subscription. Three months later, which is today, I found that my plan was auto-renewed. I do not remember their website writing anything about auto-renew, and so I went back and found that it was not mentioned anywhere on the payment page, and it was only written at the bottom of the Pricing page. If you do not search for it deliberately, there is no way you can find it.
I feel this company is fooling customers like me and wasting my money and time. I do not think that customers should pay to a company like this and helps it to survive.

This is one of the best tools that enable an inexperienced person to create professional presentations and videos. As an editor and graphic animator, I found in Powtoon a perfect tool to develop and animate dynamic, modern and very attractive videos in a fraction of the time it would take to do it with conventional animation tools. The app has a HUGE animated elements data bate, which also gets updated constantly. You can start your video from scratch or use the templates available for you... You can even upload your own videos or images and use them in the videos... Your imagination is the limit!

Only one thing to say... As many other online video tools, working with a lot of resources and heavy projects can make the page crash or go reaaaally slow... Event though the progress usually gets saved, it annoying to loose precious minutes reloading....

My slides keep just disappearing into thin air. I save constantly, but when I go back in, one or two slides are missing, I recreated them, and I go back in and a different one is missing. And this just wasn't a one time thing. It's happened many times, and I've contacted supported and they tell me things like "clear your browser cache". No way! This is a bug, and I have better uses for my time!!!

There are a nice templates, characters, videos and scenes which you can use. You can also upload your own videos, voice overs and it is easy to use and navigate. I am not technically minded but this tool makes me love creating professional videos and presentations.

Simplicity! PowToon has one of the most user friendly interfaces among other apps, which makes working on it fun. Even without a background in video editing, one is able to create customizable movies and animated videos as it is quite intuitive. The drag and drop feature also makes it faster and convenient.

No specific shortcoming was found while using PowToon. Sometimes when there is a lot of content, there were slight lags/delays in working, but nothing that disturbed the workflow. If this can be improved, it would increase user adoption to a great extent.

I used it more than once to produce promo videos with a CTA attached for people to click and go straight to a landing page.

Many aspects of the platform need to be paid for; for example, the "created with Powtoon" thing, which really takes away from the experience.

Canva, which is a creation tool, much like Powtoon, offers many aspects without paying for them. Most people don't even know you used Canva, and the Freemium thing is only for premium icons, backgrounds, etc. or for transparency or re-editable PDF.

We often like to create teasers for the projects we are creating which we can use to post on social media or our content sites. Powtoon proved to be user-friendly and allows you to create animated videos with different templates and music to choose from. I must say that this is a more sophisticated program than just using basic PowerPoint. This program opened my eyes because sometimes you can get stuck on your own creation that you forget there are other ways to design. Our teaser videos proved to be successful and kept our viewers engaged. I plan to use this again for our future campaigns.

I was introduced to Powtoons in class when I was given an assignment that required a short presentation along with it. As someone who does not have a lot of time to put together large complicated presentations, Powtoons was perfect for me to use in that situation. If you are looking for presentation software to put together an impressive business proposal, I would not recommend Powtoons. They do offer Pro and Business accounts that allow downloads and remove the watermark at the end of the presentation. Also, as a paid user, you do have access to more templates and features, but for the price, you should consider using another more extensive presentation software.
