Vorteile

Tested several other Linux applications, including DIY, and found CloudBerry to be the most reliable for several reasons:

- Backing up always worked.
- Restoring went without a hitch.
- Set it and forget it.
- Automated notifications.
- Low system memory usage, and allows customizing the threads.
- Customizable backup schedules: some directories I do daily, others weekly, and semi-monthly full-backups of everything!
- Support is only an e-mail away -- and they are quick to respond.

Nachteile

The interface could use some finesse. I ran in to an error message that was vague and unhelpful when configuring my initial backups, but I e-mailed support and literally within 24 hours was responded to. (In the end, the error was because I was using the application inside of a Docker container which was not properly configured for the permissions!)
More granular controls of the network configuration would be helpful.

It would be nice if the software offered virtualization of the devices it is backing up. If we could virtualize a server or desktop within minutes of a failure that would be great

Since we moved into the AWS GovCloud seven years ago, we have relied on CloudBerry for daily backups of our MS SQL Server database and our Perforce codebase. CloudBerry has been FANTASTIC! Great price, but more importantly, completely dependable and worth every dime. Support has always been quick and effective.

Nachteile

I can't think of any issues that have been a problem.

The gui is well-designed, there are plenty of options. The choice of cloud storage providers is huge. It's extremely reliable. I've used Cloudberry Lab Backup - free and paid - on clients' servers, desktops, laptops for years. Even when there was no free version the price was so reasonable, much more affordable than other backup programs. In combination with Cloudberry Explorer, you can't beat it. Unlike many other backup solutions, you can also save locally too. The best tool for Windows backup strategies.

Nachteile

You do have to be fairly technically proficient (which isn't necessarily bad for us tech providers since we have to make a living!) so it's unlikely a regular end user would be able to deal with it. I would like the free version to allow a bit more than 200GB - maybe 350GB - just so I don't worry that a client's backups would stop working since I'm not onsite IT. But the price for one desktop license is so reasonable that if I'm sure a client will need more I just buy one. I did try Cloudberry Lab Backup on the Mac and didn't like it as well as Arq, but that was a while ago. Really this is excellent software.

This backup is consistently working, intuitive, and quick to deploy and configure. When there is a problem with backup, we are notified immediately and get an excellent response time from support when needed.

Nachteile

The dashboard could be revamped and more user-friendly...but support is excellent at assisting with setup and getting acclimated with the layout/finding what I'm looking for in it as needed.

It is a very easy tool to use, its interface allows any user to access and control what they want to do. It has allowed me to create backup copies and store them in different destinations that I want, very good indeed, its free version is very good, has little restrictions

So far I have not had any inconveniences with the platform, it has been a good experience, its storage time is just the right one

One of my biggest cons for me is that my backups keep all copies of files, even those that I have deleted from my system. I have to go in manually and delete the files I want removed.

This software was easy to deploy and takes the worry out of having an offsite backup solution. We worked with the rep. and his support to get it deployed and check it was running.

Cloudberry Backup is one of the most robust cloud backup solutions I've used. It's got a really impressive interface that is designed to make using the software easy.
I especially like how backups are handled. You can perform real-time backup or schedule when backup should take place.
I also like that cloudberry backup can be used with several different cloud providers.
The fact that it can be used to prevent ransomware attack is really priceless.

Main reason we are using this software is ability to restore to cloud. In case of some sort of emergency when our physical location is not available, we can restore all of our VMs to Azure. We also back up locally to a NAS

It can be confusing setting up. I had to contact support many times to make sure I was doing it correctly and even now I'm not sure if i'm doing it all correctly but I know our backups can be restored. I have had some errors pop up on restore that made me change some settings. Had I not tested it and needed to restore, we would've been screwed

The software was easy to step up. After setup and configuring your cloud locations the system performs as expected. I receive an email when the backup is finished and saved to the cloud.

We have tried countless back up utilities and this one is not only one of the more straight forward to use but anytime we have issues support is great with helping us out, I recommend it to other MSP's as a real option for replacing similar products.

I really like the ability to select from so many storage providers. Pick the storage plan that has the pricing and features you need and use CloudBerry Backup to get your data there. I already have it setup to upload photos from four different PCs to Amazon Cloud Drive so my wife can easily view photos from all family members online. I also perform a local backup to a USB HDD attached to a PC. I was able to seed my own backups by attaching the drive to each PC in the house to create the initial backup. Then subsequent backups are run across the network. Took a short amount of time to figure everything out... not as easy as some that are out there... but once you get it down, it's not bad. The flexibility is definitely worth the learning curve. Setting up email notifications was easy and makes it handy to keep track of successful/failed jobs running on multiple computers. I'm still using the free trial, but this is definitely the software I'll be using to replace Crashplan.

Nachteile

Likely not very easy to learn for anyone that is not very technical. There is a lot more knowledge needed to set this up to work correctly when compared to some other online backup software (like Crashplan or Backblaze)... however, it does offer much more flexibility and choice compared to the others.

We have been using Cloud Berry Backup for a couple of years now for both internal and client systems. It's always been easy to setup and maintain and got us out of some difficult spots! Support for BackBlaze B2 has also saved us a small fortune in storage costs.

Nachteile

As yet we have not had any major issues whilst using the software / services provided. There does not currently appear to be a way that we can back up Office365 Sharepoint (OneDrive for business) libraries to local storage but I'm sure it will arrive soon.

It doesn't have a mobile app and it is not for casual users. Cloudberry doesn't have phone support so it will be hard to get help if you need it.

The summary emails do not really warn if your backup has stopped only if it fails to back up.
There is no way of combining all backups into one summary email, you will get one email for each backup job.
You need to be a bit tech-savvy to setup a backup as you need an additional account at a cloud storage provider (not a one-click setup).

CloudBerry Backup is not like all the others, nothing more the fact that you can make a backup from one cloud to another for example from onedrive to google drive it makes it very incredible, and has support for many clouds.

For the integrations we have today cloudberry has no mobile application or is available for Mac or Linux forcing you to only use Windows PC to make backups so if you are on the street or do not have a PC nearby you can't make a backup if in that moment you need to do.
