We love TouchPoint
We have been using TouchPoint for several years now, and I have to say, we still love it. The customer support is incredible and the system keeps getting better! We are a smaller church with a smaller budget, and TouchPoint allows us to have access to a powerful set of tools, including child-check in, membership tracking, contact tracking, emailing, and online giving, all rolled into one seamless, cost-effective bundle. We would highly recommend it!

We prefer for users to submit tickets in Zendesk rather than pick up the phone simply because it allows us to better serve you. Average response time for tickets is less than four hours, which is actually the quickest in the industry! That said, we know sometimes you want/need an immediate answer, and having to wait can feel frustrating. We look forward to new developments in 2019 that hopefully will make it easier to seek answers for support questions.

Good database - best for those who desire open source
We've used TouchPoint at our church for several years. The system has worked well, but the interface isn't very user-friendly. Some of the features require a more in-depth knowledge of software. Emails would be better if they could be "drag & drop" rather than HTML. Individual profiles are difficult to navigate to the information you want to retrieve. Check-in works great for Sunday mornings with children's ministry.

I am a new user of touchpoint. My background is working in a higher education database system.
Being able to keep up with prospects and members of our church is much easier with this software tool.
Vorteile
It is great that the pictures of our church members are available.
I like being able to email individuals and groups through Touchpoint.
The report feature is nice.
Being able to use tags is helpful. It would however, be even more helpful to be able to further filter some of the people I have tagged before I email the whole group. Sometimes, an email should go to most, but not all of the members of a tag.
The "Recently Viewed" list is very helpful when searching People or Organizations.
Nachteile
I am disappointed that I cannot set up a communication plan for members and guests.
The search building feature seems a bit awkward. Is there a chart somewhere that lists all available codes that I may search?
I wish there was a separate place where I could view all my templates without having to click on someone's record in order to find all of my saved drafts/templates.
Our church does not have a Twilio account, so we are unable to send texts using Touchpoint. It would be great if the capability to send /receive texts was integrated in the software.
We also do not use the payment system that can be used with Touchpoint.

I originally selected the software for children ministry checkin but it is now used for...
Vorteile
Open-Source (I have contributed bug fixes and new features that have been implemented). Custom SQL and Python Scripting. Children checkin is easy. VBS Registration and management is super easy. Automation for sending out absentee reports. Integration with text messaging and newsletter emails through Mailchimp. Integration with background check supplier is seamless.
Nachteile
Currently the Calendar is a bit clunky but they are working to release new version. I also wish the Mobile app was a bit more cost effective for smaller church plants.

TouchPoint to Manage Members
It is better than salesforce in my opinion. A great customer service.

3. It is easy to add tabs and customize your needs
4. Can add more people under a main contact person. The 2nd, 3rd, etc. person's information can be saved with great details.
5. People can be connected in a profile. Can make a group.
Nachteile
The search function can be upgraded. It has a big search bar like a department store site. Hope see it more selection like type name, email, and other things to do a search to narrow down the data.
There is no "flag" feature you can build. While you are putting people's information, there is no drop down or a check box feature you can add.

A Very Good Review
I love the fact that TP is accessible from everywhere. I love that I can so easily look up pictures and personal information on all our members--from work, home and anywhere I go with my cell phone. It's easy to click from tab to tab. Overall, TP is a wonderful program. I only wish it were easier to tailor data and reports. Maybe one day.

The difficulty of creating my own reports so I can see the data in the ways I wish to see it. Sunday School reporting has its drawbacks as well. But, I realize that I'm still doing it the old-fashioned way--manually.

Great program for church management.
We have enjoyed using TouchPoint in our church. The office end has been very useful as well as implementing it into the visitation in the church.

Great system, complicated to operate for beginners
The overall experience was good, but the system was just too complicated to get set up for a check in station. Even after it was explained to me it took too much hardware and if one piece did not work then all of the system went down. I think if it was simplified without the ping system then it would be a lot better, either through Bluetooth or even over a closed wifi system.

Great graphics hide poor functionality
It does the basics poorly, but charges you like it does them well. We got in when in was in the early stages and it was a bargain which is what a small congregation needed. Time has increased the price and bettered the graphics but they have never added any real functionality. We still cant communicate effectively within an organization and the calendar functionality is terrible. You have to almost be a programmer to send an email. The only reason we have stayed is the beast of transitioning data to another service is overwhelming as a small congregation.

Built by experienced church staff to help with all the needs of people tracking.
Vorteile
We love how it covers all the aspects of ministry. They are always updating to suggestions and improving on the aspects of the software. The customer service is outstanding. We love how they have partnerships with Mailchimp, online donations, etc.
Nachteile
I have not found anything I don't like to be honest. If there is something we wished would be different we ask for advice and they either have another way to do things to they take the suggestion and sometimes make it happen.

More than we hoped for
Although there are many functions and features that we don't use, simply because we are a small church (and we are not in the US which makes all those helpful TAX and Giving functions redundant) everything we have ever needed/wanted is there! It is not that easy to figure out how to use and the interface can be a bit overwhelming, but there is always (a lot of) help when you need it! Put in other words: I haven't found it necessary to inquire about many of the things you see (almost cluttering) the interface, but whenever I did have a question I could easily find the answer.

There are many options (within menus etc) that I cannot figure out (instinctively) how to use or why it is there. Ease of use is compromised.

TouchPoint - 4/5 stars
Overall, TouchPoint is a great church management tool that offers more features than you can possibly use unless you make it a full time job to study their help documentation. We love the way it helps us track and contact our members, register for events, take attendance, etc. Our biggest pain point has been the check-in system for our preschool & children's departments. We have been working with TP to resolve the issues we have had, but the reality is - it does not specialize in check-in, it merely offers check-in as a service. That being said, if you don't use check-in, I would HIGHLY recommend that you use TouchPoint for your church management system.

Our transition to TP has been very challenging. We feel the TP was not prepared to meet our...

Manual entry of bundles including splits seems to be faster than our old system, but we do still have some issues with this process that have been voiced with no resolution to date.
Nachteile
Overall the finance side of TP has been very disappointing! The financial reports are not user friendly. The excel downloads contain a lot of information that we don't need for our general ledger postings and thus it requires a lot of excel work to get the report in a format that we can use. And most recently we have had issues arise where reports were not able to be generated correctly by TP software. This causes us to question the overall accuracy of the software. Also, we are learning that our terminology differs greatly than TP terminology. This makes electronic communication almost impossible! We would appreciate some of our issues handled with a quick phone call instead of the multiple messages back and forth. When we have been able to have phone conversations only one TP individual has ever followed through with our issues at hand and gotten back with us via conference calls.

Touch Point Glitches
Vorteile
Good for keeping records for large groups of people
Nachteile
UX and Interface needs to be upgraded big time. There are a lot of strange glitches in working with the software. I loose information/data that I input regularly and it can be a pain after I've entered a lot of information.

Moving from a legacy church membership platform
We believe Touchpoint is the right tool for us to be able to better capture the participation and involvement of our membership. We are also now able to integrate our retreat registration information into our member records which provides a clearer window on how our membership is engaged. The communication tools via email/text will be something that will help leaders connect with and reach out to our various groups. We were looking for a "single source of truth" database solution and Touchpoint appears to have all tools we need to remove the data silos that have developed using excel, gmail or constant contact.
Vorteile
We like the user friendly interface, the ability to have a mobile reference for our church leadership to review member information, as well as the extensive support library and responsive help desk for specific situations. We are still exploring all the features and benefits, but I can see many scripts and tools that we can access to provide easy to run reports on things like first time givers, change in giving and other metrics.
Nachteile
I don't have any specific negatives to report as a new admin user. All new systems take some time getting used to, so that just comes with the territory of make a system switch.

A growing tool that we love
We have been using the touchpoint system for a while now and continue to find it invaluable. We are finding new ways to use it every month or so and find it is super supported in the community. Would highly recommend it to any church. We love the children's checkin.

It can sometimes be a bit challenging to find the items you are looking for. The navigation structure can be a bit confusing.

Newly switched from a very challenging software product
My overall experience with TouchPoint has been beyond professional and efficient.
Vorteile
The best thing about this product is the support and the willingness of the developers to listen to feedback and make adjustments as needed. The software is very user friendly and robust. We are still learning what all it is capable of. And specifically touching on the great support - I have felt free to email the support team any and all questions and they have responded within the hour.
Nachteile
The things I like least about the software are mostly just things related to adjusting to doing things a different way that we previously did them. Probably my biggest critique would be not having the ability to upload individual bundles to our GL program that match exactly what hit the bank. Instead bundles can be uploaded to your GL system by a range of dates by fund.

Touchpoint's features are way ahead of the competition
We have been using Touchpoint for 3 years now at our church of about 600+ members.
The feature set and flexibility of what you can do with this software is tremendous. Very advanced reports, the Search Builder, Organizations structure...and if you can't find a way to do it, then it's open source, so submit a pull request and help add the feature yourself!
Support has been very responsive and helpful.
Only downside...some parts of the software are overly complicated with the User Interface, so there is a learning curve, especially to some advanced areas. Also, the online giving user experience is less then ideal (although functionality, it does work well. we have been using it for 3 years).
If there was something I found that was better, I would switch. But haven't found anything that meets our needs as well as Touchpoint has.

TouchPoint Church Database
We have found TouchPoint to be the "best bang for our buck." We have tried and looked into other software and TouchPoint works best for us. The price is reasonable and it does most everything we need. There are some things that do not fit our church, however, they are continuing to update. Customer service is second to none!

Excellent support!
TouchPoint is very intuitive, and the support is very helpful when I have a question. I've accessed the help articles when I cannot figure something out, and they are very thorough in addressing my question. When I need a little additional help, their support staff is very accessible and eager to help in any way possible!!! I would definitely recommend TouchPoint to other users.

TouchPoint's Comprehensiveness
Our youth and children's ministry was in need of a digital database platform where we could do computerized Check-In, online registration, group management, email communications, and access all of this over a web browser and a smartphone. BVCMS back then and now TouchPoint have answered all those needs and continues to develop as a user-friendly system. I appreciate this database so much and all the ways it has helped our church reach the rising generation in our community.

Exactly what we need
We have used a variety of programs to accomplish what we needed inn our ministry through the years. However, it always seemed to require a little adjustment on our part to make them work well. When we discovered Touchpoint all that changed. It is obviously written with the local church in mind. So many of our people can now be active and engaged in reaching others using the tools this software provides.

Love, love, love TouchPoint Software!
We converted from ACS and I have never looked back! TouchPoint is very user friendly, support is amazing - solves problems quickly and efficiently. We do wish it had a financial module, but have been very pleased with everything about it!

Awesome program and support staff
this is a very complex, but fairly easy to use program. If it weren't for the customer service support staff at touch point, I would know as much as I do. they are an amazing staff. very helpful and encouraging to work with. I can't say enough goof things about my support team. I consider that support team part of my staff. without them, my job becomes more stressful. I love the the customer service support staff at touch point.

Solid Choice
Church Management Systems choices are hard to make. Most only specialize in one thing (finance, scheduling, or checkin)- this means that often you have to choose what aspect is most important to you and make-do with the rest. Touchpoint is consistently making what they do better and rolling out new features that were presented as real ministry needs (from actual churches who use their products).

Excellent System
We have been using TouchPoint for almost two years and have been very pleased with the system. I was amazed at what an easy transition it was from our previous system. We needed very little training as the documentation provided with TouchPoint is VERY user friendly. I rarely need to contact TouchPoint support, but when I do they are very prompt in getting back to me.

It works well for my purpose
As a staff of two(the pastor and myself)the many versions of a shared prayer list or newsletter is confusing and irritating. It worked well when we had the one version to be able to edit. Some searches are also difficult to establish with the information we have collected but overall I like it a lot.

A Tool to Leverage Ministry
Touchpoint has been an incredible tool for our church and our ministry. From creating reports, tracking attendance, to communicating with our people, touchpoint helps us to leverage information for more effective and efficient ministry. The Touchpoint App has also been an indispensable resource for quick access to information on the go!

You get what you pay for
Touchpoint is clunky and often requires a lot of rerouting for the most basic of things (couples who have differing last names, for example) but it is inexpensive and allows churches to invest more money in things that matter.

So clunky and not intuitive. Very difficult to input same sex couples, couples with dashes in their names, etc. Very gender conservative in ways that are unnecessary in today's culture and which make more work than necessary for something as simple as giving statements or address labels.

Sometimes it's a little hard to find information on how to do something through the index. But, that being said, I have always been able to contact Support and they have been very willing to help me out and even fix issues for me.

TouchPoint in a Small Church Environment
Our church has less than 50 attendees with even fewer donors, but TouchPoint (TP) is still of great value to us. We use QuickBooks Online but we prefer to also use TP for recording our giving, both online donations and on-site offerings. TP statements are easily generated; all we have to do is print, fold and place in double-window envelope. TP generates the source numbers that we use for tracking attendance and giving on an Excel spreadsheet, to create very informative trend graph. Support is US based and very responsive.

Ease of use, ease of learning, video tutorials, support.
Nachteile
For our very small church, learning to setup a rotating volunteer schedule did not appear to be worth the effort, so we simply use a manual spreadsheet for our simple requirements.

Financial Secretary
We love the software and probably don't use it to it's ability - very thankful for Customer support representative in helping us get an mobile app set up. Nothing but good to say.

I love the ability of having a web based program but struggle with some of the features.
Vorteile
Being web based it is very easy to access information from anywhere. The tech support has been good. I like all the help articles that will lead you to a possible solution.
Nachteile
We have to learn a new "lingo" to be able to build searches. Building searches for reports that were basic on the previous program has been challenging. We use the check in process for children and I would like to see a one time visitor option. I don't like that it adds children who are here visiting family as a prospect when they are only here for the one day. This messes up the prospect report since they are not true prospects.

Best church member software
Vorteile
I like the membership tracking and the reports. I like that members have access and can update their own profile. The software helps us with learn faces and names of new people so much faster than before. I like the registration function as well as the giving features.
Nachteile
The learning curve it a lot. I also wish there was phone support connected with the account. The app could have more free features.

Easy to use and powerful tool
We rely on TouchPoint for our membership tracking and communication to our members primarily. We haven't even touch the other features of the service but will eventually utilize the most of what TouchPoint offer.

Membership engagement
Vorteile
I love the mobile responsive design. It makes is super easy for both administrators and church members to engage on their phone, tablets or laptops. The mobile app is also much better than what we've seen anywhere else.
Nachteile
Much of TouchPoint is geared toward engaging church membership and prospective members. The tool is powerful, so there is a learning curve.

Review of Touchpoint
I think it's a very good system. I know there are a lot of things it does that I don't even know about it. Staff are always friendly & helpful and very prompt to answer questions.

Good... but...
There is so much more to this program that I am not utilizing. I would love the opportunity to be a part of an all day training...

I am enjoying TP and learning all the ways it works for our purposes. It is easy to understand.
Still learning the benefits.
Vorteile
I like that it is web-based and accessible anywhere I am. I like that we will be able to have church leaders and members eventually use TP in their various roles. I like the Support responses.
I like scanning roll sheets - so easy.
Nachteile
I find Searches tedious, mostly because I do not know all the terminology involved in Conditions. Just a learning curve that will eventually get better as I use it. I do not like that reports are not always alphabetized without having to move them to Excel. Seems like any report of people should be alphabetical.

A great scalable option
The staff helped us through the merge and has continued to help us through new ideas and features. It's a solution that fit out budget needs!

Glad we switched
Much easier tHan previous system. Like the tracking visitors and use of task features to make sure leaders are contacting them.
Vorteile
Exactly what we need. Easy to use. Like the help feature and videos.

I wish that we could use volunteer calender aspect in the mobile app.
