I have been using PowerPoint for well over 15 years. To use the product from my earlier years in school for presentations about Penguins to teaching Cultural Diversity in the Human Resources setting in my organization shows how this product can be used in so many different settings. I found it easy to learn the basics while in middle school and high school. Being a visual learner myself, this software is something that I can connect with on a personal basis. I believe using this software for your presentations helps deliver the message on another level with being able to catch the audience's attention and keep it.

I work as the Employment Coordinator/Recruiter with my company. I work with a lot of data. With me being a visual person, this software allows for me to get my data across in a way I'm comfortable with. I do this by using charts/graphs in the presentation. It allows me to show my leadership my data such as (applicant, education of applicant, experience of applicant, how many applicants) to them in a way that text and conversation can't do on it's on. This makes me look more professional and organized. It clearly shows my losses and success, my goals and my progress!

Nachteile

I think if you are not careful, you can get carried away with using too much text or too many images. There has to be a balance. I think it helps to get proper training/education on how to build an effective presentation.
Anyone can click around and enter text and images, but the audience may focus too much on what's on the screen and not what the actual message is. It's to aid in the presentation and the message, not take over and replace the presenter.

Also, the fact that you have to pay for it with a subscription monthly or annually can pose a problem for some.

The ease to present one's ideas through means of templates and various interactive tools to keep both professionalism of ideas and ease of understanding . Ability to show a 200 page work into a 20 slide ppt is a really healthy way to show details.

For me, the program has surprised me a lot in a very pleasant way of course because it is so easy to use even as a beginner due to the thousands of tutorials offered by users online.It's a software I use a lot since my studies. I upgraded to the latest version (version 2019) some time ago.Personally, this software has helped me on several projects. I recommend it to my colleagues here in France.

Despite the many advantages, the main disadvantage is the price of the software, which is a bit high. Also, the ability to turn a PDF document into a Powerpoint.

The leap from basic to high end use does seem to require some know how with computer savvy in general, though I would surmise this to be true of any product in this field.

I’ve been an avid PowerPoint user for more than a decade. As Microsoft call it as PowerPoint, it has all the Power which functions straight to the Point. Simple and easy to use, yet powerful for all purposes, either for educational, business, daily personal tasks, as well as for volunteering work.. It’s more than just making slide presentations for my previous offices’ work, and my business needs. From PowerPoint file, I could do magic by converting it into PDF file, high quality images and stunning animations including superb videos. The multi functionalities has absolutely impacted towards my effort and time efficiency for all my needs.

Not many people that I know of, are quite familiar with the powerful functions of PowerPoint. Mostly they use it for creating simple or boring slide presentations. It’s too bad that it seems only very few people are having the patience to tweak more into it. Also not many institutions where I live are offering PowerPoint courses. Of course we can learn it by ourselves using YouTube or other online tutorials, but again, not many people are having the ability to learn, tweak, and going through trials and errors by themselves. I wish the manufacturer to produce more online tutorials which is easy to follow, build communities using online forums or social media, and offer short courses for public through their outlets of Microsoft store in each country.

What I like most about this software is that it is easy to use, it is adaptable to any business and engineering activity, showing graphics, images and text in presentations at a professional level. I have always had the impression that was designed thinking about the oil industry, most of the daily reports and meetings in the oil business use the PowerPoint format, in these are shown specialized schemes and graphics among others.
The connectivity feature and direct compatibility with other Microsoft tools such as Exel and Word are very useful and save time in the daily activities and requirements of the oil business.
In my place of work daily they request presentations and reports, using PowerPoint we can solve in time.
I use this program since my beginnings in the oil industry, back in 1996, it was the PowerPoint95 version, since that time it has been an essential tool in my professional development.

Nachteile

What I like least about this software are some graphic limitations in terms of bitmap image resolution and the high use of RAM memory that require the best graphic resolution vector images. Although these features have been improving over time, I would like in the future to be able to compare PowerPoint with a Canvas type tool in terms of the graphic quality of objects and images.
Another feature that can be improved is the incompatibility of files generated in more recent versions of the program with older versions.

Power Point is very easy to use, it allows me to create presentations with a good visual appeal thanks to its miles of functions to compose image of professional quallity.

I can build a contet grid for the Social Media accounts I manage, and in that way I can show my work to my clients in a dynamic way. They really love my job because of that.

Nevertheless, what I like the most about Power Point is that I can turn my presentations to PDF, so I can save that content on my Smartphone and schedule all post in an easier way.

Power Point its very easy to learn how to use it, you don't really need a guide or something like that. Also, if you are a begginer or you don't have any ideas to start your presentation, this program gives you several template options to choose and make a sucessful job.

But wait a minute, I don't only use Power Point for my Social Media content, I used it to create business documents, so that way is easier for the company's graphic designer to build the design for the final presentation.

As well, Power Point is very useful for my academic issues, I ussually create the material support for my oral evaluations, and it really helps to keep the attention of my classmates and it makes funny and dynamic a complex subject.

I don't know if this is because of my computer, but sometimes the program gets frozen, just for a few minutes, but the frequency of that problem I can count it with the fingers of one hand, so it's not a big deal.

I think I don't have something I like least about this software. I really love all Microsoft products.

The tools and resources of PowerPoint make it an easy program to use, I as a user can use predesigned templates and customize them according to what I want to project.
It is very useful for me, since I can present concrete data as statistical elements, images and graphics according to what I am going to report. In my case, journalistic information and tourist packages.

Always with the slides I am looking for an attractive way to project data and all that illustrative content that allows me to share relevant information about the products, services or corporate image that is being represented.

Some details that can be adjusted, very brief elements, the theme of the templates should always be updated, you should have more options, especially business formats. The topic of the size of the formats, currently PowerPoin is a tool for the Community Manager, should adapt it for those demands. For the rest I think that its elements are focused, only that they must constantly update them due to the technological evolution that we have.

I think of all the Microsoft business software, PowerPoint is the easiest to learn, the most fun (because I love design.) And, it's not just for slide shows anymore! Change the size, turn the grids on and you've got powerful design software for any design project.

I like the way they've integrated it with the cloud for saving files. This makes it even more versatile from the desktop.

The new 'Design' utility in Office 365 is outstanding! I am an ongoing self-taught designer and this new feature has my full attention. I like it!

Nachteile

This is a big, powerful piece of software that can be cumbersome. It sometimes crashes (which I believe is the reason they have their 'restore' utility on point at all times.)

However, I have to interject that it is not as cumbersome as Adobe products that slow my poor little lap top down and makes me pray for a solid state drive.

So, if I have to choose between the two, I choose Microsoft. On my home system, it works better. When I worked 8 - 5 in business offices with high-speed internet, there was no noticeable difference between the speed of the two products, but at home, there is a big difference.

As IT project manager and Business Analyst, I'm using Powerpoint on a daily basis. It's is very easy to use and powerful. I can start from a blank page and produce a impressive presentation or diagrams very quickly.

I particularly appreciate the slide view that helps me to re-order my slides to create my story line.
I also appreciate the "hide slide" function that I use to customizemy presentation for specific audiences.

The fact that PowerPoint is commonly use in my business sector is also a plus. It's de-facto a standard that people can use to exchange ideas. It's also very easy to find video tutorials and free templates on the web.

I also use it for non-presentation tasks like creating Wireframes, UX diagrams, comic strip for communication or small advert pictures that I can use on social media (in jpg format).

During the presentation, the presenter view is really great and deserve to be improved.

If you want to create an impressive presentation, you have to start from a blank page, period.
There a no theme that looks great or attractive. When you compare it with Keynote on Mac, it's quite disappointing. So I do it manually and copy paste one of my previous presentations for the layout.

Your design could crash when you try to play your presentation on a guest PC. Most of the time due to some missing fonts. I know that you can change the save option to embed it but it is not intuitive and it's easily forget when you are in a rush.

Alignement of objects is not always easy. I would appreciate some dynamic guides when I move an item on the page.

The file size is often very big. Especially when you start to include images.

As previously mentioned, the presenter view is really great and deserve to be improved: bigger fonts for notes and more flexibility in the presenter view layout.

Powerpoint is easy to use. Once you understand that the secret is an extensive use of the mouse right click - you can get almost anything done. The color, fonts, sizes and other features behave the same as in all other MS products. So if you ever worked with Word or Excel it is a pretty seamless experience even for beginners. A lot of the available features change according to the item that is currently selected, thus predicting your next steps and needs. This behavior in the product has been improving more and more from one version to the next.

There is a difference between the product version for Mac and PC. I find the PC version more robust and friendly.
Presentations, especially those with a lot of graphics can become very heavy. The feature allowing to reduce presentation size is hidden, and you have to be an advanced user to easily find it.
It is still frustrating when you copy slides from one presentation to another and all the design changes. In order to keep the original design you have to know where to look for the "keep original design" command. I have seen this happen many times and waste a lot of people's precious time, all because this feature is hidden. That is a shame.

It's simple to use and easy to learn. I picked up the skill to use this software without anyone's help or courses needed.

Personally, It's great tool for simple presentation. I don't need to use it for fancy purposes, only to present my work and it's ideal because the interface etc is easy to understand by clients from different backgrounds.

I can use this software online and offline, the latter proves to be tremendously helpful, as we often review back the presentation files, sometimes in settings that don't support good online access.

The image editing could be improved. More function or adjustment levels to tweak the image would be a great improvement for the quality of the presentation.

For long presentation, the file size also builds up quite quickly, making it difficult to compress it into email friendly size.

This application is very helpful during my presentation of our process project proposal. It made the concept simple to understand because of the wide array of data visualisation needed for my report. The MS powerpoint is also considered a global phenomenon known to all professional wherein you can present your data/report via various infographics and animations necessary.
There is also the option of so many built-in audio effects, and the opportunity to add custom audio effects is fantastic. You can also save files in pdf format.

Also during presentation, MS powerpoint does an excellent job of putting small features into the program that give your presentation a sense of authenticity, individuality, and professionalism that genuinely sets you apart from the competition.

isuppose there could be a few more formatting choices such as;

1.Some elements aren't well-known, and learning and incorporating them can take some effort.

2.Slides have difficulty to insert/process video based animations causes lag or does not play at all.
3.Because we currently have to rely on workarounds to generate templates, a native wizard to create custom templates should be available.

Powerpoint allows effective presentations to many audience types. It is easy to share with others and is widely available. As part of the MS Office toolkit it is usable in most all businesses. I like the flexibility - I don't use the automation tools as much but you can create presentations that can loop for use in applications like trade shows, etc. I tend to use more for internal meetings and find it very effective.

Nachteile

Powerpoint can be a bit of a crutch and sometimes is overused. Some executives I have presented to prefer minimal detail on the slides but more face to face / screen to screen dialogue to elaborate on key points. Our company is pushing to simplify charts and not spend too much time creating elaborate complicated slides. This has nothing to do with the design but is more about how people use the tool in their companies.

Like most professionals who've ever had to give a presentation, I began using Powerpoint 10+ years ago as a presentation tool. Over the years, I've created more and more elegant documents, slideshows, etc., and have recently begun using Powerpoint to create digital and print ads, social media posts, posters, brochures and other collateral materials. I've appreciated how easy it is to place text and images, adjust colors, create transparent images, rotate and layer elements, create animations, and much more. Powerpoint is really a fairly intuitive tool for the professional who is capable, but not a graphic designer by trade. There are many things that Photoshop does better, of course, but I'm amazed at how much I can do with Powerpoint with far less swearing. So far the biggest limitations are the size of document you can create (under 50 inches); it doesn't set up in pixels, and it takes a little finesse to produce a high-res output. For my small marketing consultancy, where it helps to keep as much work as possible in-house without paying outside designers for certain types of projects, Powerpoint has become my constant companion. I produce proposals, plans, mockups, and even some finished work all from this one, indispensible program.

Admittedly, this is not marketed as a graphic design program, but there are only a few small things that would make Powerpoint an easy-to-use tool for simple design: 1., a slightly-easier-to-use "remove background" tool (that doesn't leave the resulting image pixelated); 2., the ability to export or save documents as a Photoshop PDF; the ability to set up a document in pixels, 3., the ability to select dpi.

My favorite thing about PowerPoint is the multitude of document types you can create. I used to think of it as solely a presentation software, but after 3 years of daily use, I now open PowerPoint to make flyers for events, handouts for meetings, project timelines, and even to make digital graphics for our online focus groups (instead of Photoshop!). It's the simplicity of PowerPoint that makes it my go-to application for creating all these different types of documents.

One thing about PowerPoint that frustrates me is the inability to make your own keyboard shortcuts for changing the font and other formatting settings. In Microsoft Word, I have assigned certain shortcuts to quickly switch between different font types and colors, and I've never understood why this feature (which honestly saves so much time) is not available in the other Office suite products like PowerPoint.

Power point has been an invaluable software in making presentations. The feature I find most useful is having pre-designed templates which makes it easy to quickly make professional presentations. I particularly like the animated descriptions infographics sampler as they provide me with a creative and visually attractive way to describe my data. Additionally power point allows for download of additional designs and transitions from Microsoft website providing a wide range of templates.
I also like the fact that to promote user friendliness and ease of applicability PowerPoint has a user guide that outlines how to make slide shows with software tools.

Nachteile

There are a few features that i like least about power point and would improve it tremendously if improved in subsequent versions. These include lack of photo frame template option which makes it less suitable to make creative photo presentations. Also inability to share slide shows by directly uploading them to you tube or face book limits sharing of presentations on social media and file sizes getting large sometimes makes it difficult to share presentations.

Used for more than just creating presentations. All kinds of visuals - posters for printing and or digital display. Easy to use the basics that give great results even to beginners. More advanced capabilities than most people realise. Can produce some incredible effects with the built-in tools.

There are plenty of features missing from PowerPoint. The customer service is non-existent - online forums are a good place to go to get the help that Microsoft just don't give.
Plenty of additional functionality can be added by using the MLC PowerPoint Addin - I can't live without it.

The media extras provided and available for purchase are a great addition to your presentation. You can also use information from multiple different Microsoft programs to enhance the presentation.

PowerPoint is my favorite Microsoft program. What do I like most? All of it.

More specifically, I've recently come to love the Slide Master feature which allows you to edit the formatting of every slide in the presentation with ease. Instead of editing each individual slide, you can just edit all the slides at once through View --> Slide Master.

I just love how much you can customize your presentations. There's a lot PowerPoint has to offer. The good news is that you don't have to learn every function to make a quick, great presentation, but I do recommend exploring every tab because there is a LOT PowerPoint can help you accomplish.

I don't have any cons. It just takes some time to really learn all the functions. Luckily, the help features and the help you can find online are great whenever you find yourself stuck.

As there is with all technology, there are a few drawbacks. I believe some functions have the potential to be more user-friendly, as there are easy tools but also complicated processes. Personally, I find it difficult inserting videos, as I can’t always tell if a link is required. it would be easier to copy and drop a video. Links often caused complications in my personal experience. However, I do not find these cons to affect the quality of this software program.

In today's technologically infused world I engage daily in both business and higher education fields (both public and private), and I find time after time that PowerPoint (PPT) is my go-to presentation software program! I think its versatility and ease of use (without any formal training) has to be my favorite thing about PPT. I can provide an editable version of a PPT presentation to my students (or staff), or I can provide them with an automated slide show/video that they can simply watch to receive the desired information.

I think if I had to ask for any improvements it would be that the program would automatically prompt the user upon saving the file, if he/she would like to “compress pictures/graphics to reduce the size of the file.” I have many students who have complained that they cannot upload their presentations or that it takes was too long for their files to upload into our online classes. This often can be due to the size of their files which can be quite large because of their inserted pictures/graphics. I know to always compress my graphics before saving the file, but even when instructed to do this students will often forget when under the pressure of submitting a graded or important presentation/slide show. I have experienced this with staff and other faculty/colleagues as well. Offering a simple prompt upon saving the file that asks the user “Would like to compress pictures/graphics to reduce the size of your file?” with the same ‘Target output’ options that are available on the Compress Pictures tool, would save effort, size, and time!

I have used PowerPoint since elementary school for school projects. As I graduated from the nursing program not to long ago, PowerPoint was always my go to program to create interactive presentations that would engage my audience. There are many reasons I loved the PowerPoint program:
1) PowerPoint has many interactive features that make your project look authentic, personal and professional. These features especially help when you are transitioning between slides in your presentation, or if you are trying to make an emphasis in your presentation as well.
2) PowerPoint allows for enhancement in your creativity as it has many features which allow you to be creative, something I personally had fun with when I used the program. PowerPoint allows for one to create colourful designs using the themes provided by the program itself. These themes can also be modified to fit your needs as well while creating your presentations. You can easily create charts, tables, diagrams and add pictures to the various slides allowing for the audience to be better engaged with your work.

PowerPoint is a great program that allows one to be creative, however during my time while using PowerPoint in school, I found there were some flaws with the usage and setup of the program as well. For instance, you can spend hours creating a beautiful presentation, but in order to project your piece of work, you need further equipment like a projector, HDMI wire, and computer to set up your presentation. Another disadvantage to the PowerPoint program I found was that the program is linear in nature, thus only allowing you to create slides in a bullet-point nature which may hinder complex decision-making or stagger the audience away from fully grasping the complex information you are trying to present. PowerPoint minimizes your information back to the basics, which may sometimes hinder the quality of information being presented.

Aside from that, Microsoft Powerpoint is one of the most powerful presentation tools on the market. It has a lot of characteristics that make it quite relaxing. Audio, video, pictures, and gifs are among the data formats it can handle.

Nachteile

PowerPoint is intuitive and easy to use, working to add files to slides, especially video clips. Whether the cause of the problem is much in the size of the file is unknown.

The best thing is that Microsoft has always been improving powerpoint features since its beginning which makes it one of the best software available in the market.

There is no option to buy standalone powerpoint product, it always comes as a part of bundle in Microsoft office 365. Sometime it becomes difficult to put more content into a slide, so i would say slide space is limited. Security against virus or damage could be an improvement area.

This software is easy to use. I create a weekly presentation for an online class I teach. I really don't do anything super fancy. I'm proficient in power point but not sophisticated. PowerPoint is great for presentations. Even if you've never used the software, I believe you can figure out how to use its basic features very easily. It's fairly easy to intuit your way through the program.

One of the features I like is the ability to hide slides. I may reuse a presentation for a different audience and I don't want to create a new presentation but I also don't want to use all the slides I'd used before. I can easily hide slides that I don't need and bring them back when I do need them.

Another feature I like is the slide show mode. I'm able to have each individual slide fill the entire screen for a presentation. I'm generally using it for online presentation. There are hidden buttons in the lower left hand side of the slide that allow me to go backwards and forwards in the absence of a clicker.

Finally, you really can create any style presentation you want. I tend to use the prefab presentations offered in the templates. But with a budget or some know how you can create a really awesome presentation that wows your audience.

What I like least about the software is probably not Microsoft's fault. I see really fancy presentations and I never find those templates when I'm creating the presentation. I don't know if I need to go to a special site or what.

There's also a ton of functionality that I'm missing out on because I don't fully know how to use the software. I could probably benefit from a Lynda.com course to fully understand what this program can do.

I am fully satisfied with this outstanding software. I feel really difficult to find any cons. One of the thing that I consider not a major problem is that, sometimes when I prepare my presentation and try to save my work in different formats here the issue comes, while saving work in PDF file it breaks the file and gives an error. But after some attempts I receive the correct response. Well this is the issue I had but not a major issue. I do not go against this product because I have a strong connection with PowerPoint and I have to depend on it.

Collaboration is also tricker than some other tools which are much easier to share across different organizations. Formatting also isn't flawless (and hasn't been for years), grid snapping and moving text/images around has gotten better, but again isn't perfect.

It lacks a layers function and the ability to embed something like a slideshow within a slide. These seem like odd requests, but in many of the designs that I have produced, I find that as I layer animations, it becomes difficult to actually see what is going on on the screen at any moment with all the overlapping objects that might be entering and leaving the slide. One may get around this by making multiple slides, but that is also cumbersome in different ways. Also, I have found that on occasion, it would be great to be able to produce a mini-slide show within a slide. This would really open up the program to many other design possibilities.

Also, the ability to insert pictures, videos, and other multimedia content, the ability to create custom slide layouts, and most importantly the ability the ability to share presentations online.

In my opinion, few feature which I think would be a great contribution to the produce are, -The ability to easily create custom animations and transitions, -Better support for collaborative work-The ability to easily export presentations to popular formats.Those are few of the features which I think can be improved, but overall the software is perfect for its purpose.
