Updates without considering the users needs
Honestly, at this point I work with it because I have no other choice. But I am strongly pushing for us to get a different solution. I was fine until the timesheets were taken away and was hoping for improvements through added features

When I started to work at Kreios 3 years ago, we were already working with Jira/using Tempo Timesheets. We are constantly optimizing our processes and for HR as well as for invoicing I was able to implement standard processes
Nachteile
The recent update I like least because you just simply removed the "timesheets" feature and replaced it with "my work" which isn't anything but the reports filtered down to a person. So it wasn't a feature added but a major feature taken away. We had to instruct people on what they had to do different, we had to adapt our own accounting software that imports timesheets automattically, time tracking during weeks or months has become harder. I was honestly very upset about that. Another thing I don't like is that export feature isn't flexible enough. Also lines are cut off when there at the end of a page, no matter how you try to do it, if the export is too long. So they're not reliable (Monthly export for payroll)

Tempo may be helping me...
I like the reports. These are very easy for me and for team leads to track the team's efforts by task and individual. However, the usage of tempo is misleading. The effort estimate used by Tempo is not basic to Jira which means it doesn't play well with others (e.g. Capacity Tracker).
Therefore, my experience is somewhat negative. Should I be able to find a good reporting tool to the effort in Jira, I will probably stop using Tempo.

The reporting mostly. Time tracking is available in Jira so other than reports, I don't see much value
Nachteile
I'm using Capacity tracker to plan my sprints and Tempo for tracking the team's efforts.
These two tools don't work well together.
Moving to Tempo Planner would increase my costs by a lot.

Tempo Timesheets helps you planning and auditing your project duration
I've been using Tempo for over 4 years o maybe more. I actually used since I purchased the JIRA Cloud subscription because it is a nice add on.
Vorteile
Mainly I used integrated with JIRA to measure how much time does it take for the developers to complete the user stories. I also use Timesheet to get the monthly report and from there I manage the billing hours for the developers of our company.
Nachteile
When you download the report in CSV format, there are some fields that are quite confusing.
For example, the logged duration of a task is presented as decimal value insted of using a time format.

New look and fell has very bad UX
Vorteile
Adding to Jira missing work reporting capability needed for billing and cost tracking, making work reporting easy.
Nachteile
With new look and feel reviewing reports became nightmare. Missing expand and collapse, layout is taking too much space, difficult to eye track work description and other data, like hours. We spend now 3 times more time than before to confirm reports and bill clients. We are looking into other options, even moving away from Jira.

Tempo is good
We had a issue of developers time tracking in proper way which should align with Jira. Tempo was a good selection to us.
Vorteile
Tempo is very easy to use compare to other tool. Its seamless integration with Jira, make our life easier for the project managment.
Nachteile
Tempo cost if bit higher compare to other altnatives.

Adds ease of use to worklogs in Jira but nothing more. Worklog management not improved with it and not sure if it is worth the licence fee.

En general, creo que en la empresa le hemos sacado mucho provecho y nos ha facilitado todo para tener siempre presentes las horas de trabajo de los empleados y evitar asi errores en la facturacion.

Lo que me parece mejor de este software es que yo como administradora puedo llevar un control de cuantas horas estan trabajando los empelados para su cliente, para que, asi cuando llegue el momento de la facturacion, no existan errores en las horas que se cobraran y despues de pagaran.
Nachteile
Cuando ya fue aprobado un dia y luego se tienen que hacer cambios, no estan facil el proceso de este cambio. Es lo unco que no me fascina de este software.

Good Option for Existing Atlassian Users
While Tempo does provide distinct reporting benefits and ease of use to existing Atlassian (JIRA) customers, improvements could certainly be made to its permissions schemes and pricing model. If you are familiar with JIRA and have the knowledge and patience to properly configure the application, Tempo can be a very useful tool for data reporting and invoicing. If you are looking for a simpler, cheaper means to track time, however, I would recommend exploring alternative options.
Vorteile
Tempo Timesheets is an effective way to log and manage time entries for existing Atlassian users. The application integrates seamlessly with the JIRA project management platform, allowing users to log time through individual tasks and tickets, which then passes through to Tempo's custom reporting and approval dashboard. The inherent time entry approval process built into Tempo ensures data integrity, as only admin-level users are allowed to approve, reject, and edit submitted entries. The reporting functionality allows users to create custom time reports based on user, project, account, and several other category designations, which is great for organizing and assessing your time data.
Nachteile
Like most Atlassian products, the permissions scheme in Tempo is both complex and delicate. Familiarity with JIRA user AND project permissions is essential to proper use of the application, as misconfiguration can lead to corrupt or inaccurate data reporting. Tempo also lacks direct integration with popular accounting and CRM software such as QuickBooks, which makes service invoicing a more manual process. There is also no current means to distinguish JIRA users who need access to Tempo from JIRA users who do not, which means you will be charged a monthly service fee for each JIRA user, regardless or whether or not they actively use the application. This results in a higher monthly service fees, which can make Tempo less affordable to some users.

Billing and tracking time with one simple tool
We've used different time tracking software in the past, but as soon we migrated to Jira, Tempo Timesheet helped us achieve many things. Mainly:
- users DO log their time!
- it took very few documentation and "training" for the whole team to be on board
- Our customers appreciate the level of detail we can get from reports. No need to export Jira issues to give them detail
- We can easily track "hours budgets" for our customer using the API! That way, we are able to generate new revenu with our customers.
Vorteile
It takes no time to configure and no time to bring the team to use it.
There's also so many ways to add work logs that there's no reason to lose track of time worked on Jira.
Users do not need to go to a different page or app to use it. It shows up in Jira issues, as trackers directly in Chrome and there's many Jira dashboard gadget available to keep track of our teams.
Reporting is extremely easy. Not only is it easy to generate reports using different filters and groups but the exporting options work very well and we use them with every invoices we create
The support team is also very good! They stay in touch and do everything they can to help.
Nachteile
There is not much that I don't like. As any customer I do have very specific wish list for potential features and some are not available. But in the end, Timesheets does what it is suppose to do.

Easy and effective time tracking
Great timesheeting tool with excellent integration with Jira and superb reporting
Vorteile
Tempo Timesheets is easy to install, configure and use. The Chrome plug-in is helpful to start and stop the timer and the reporting is excellent. It’s deep integration with Jira makes it unparalleled as a time tracking tool for Jira
Nachteile
The roadmap of new features is a bit slower than I’d like.

Essential add on to Jira
We have integrated Tempo Timesheets across our company and it is being used by the developers as a means to track time and for managers to output really helpful data and business intelligence.
Vorteile
Tempo brings the most comprehensive and impressive timesheet management to Jira - we have found this to be the best timesheet management add on with an excellent array of features and a decent mobile app.
Nachteile
Putting all the Tempo products together gets very expensive but we've generally found them to be good value for money.

I like Tempo!
We use Tempo to collect the worklogs of our dev team which are then used to bill our clients.
Also, we use Tempo reports to compare the initial estimation of a ticket to the time that is actually logged.
Vorteile
I love that timelogs get connected to particular jira issues which is very useful when analyzing them and comparing the logs to the initial estimation. This is something that cannot be done with Toggl and it's the biggest reason we don't use Toggl.
Nachteile
The old Reports page from Jira server was quicker to use. There were fewer steps that you need to do to see the timesheets and you can very quickly switch between different projects or from a project report to user report. Saying that the newer timesheets page in Jira Cloud is much more powerful.

Tempo Review
Since we have tempo, we have more accurate booking, and E can quickly correct bookings with customers of necessary. With accounts, we simplify the booking to billing.
Vorteile
Tempo had a number of views to allow you to enter time easily. It integrates nicely with Jira. It does not try to be original, but it is useful. The integration with Google calendar is top. Reports and accounts help us to get an accounting overview.
Nachteile
The dictionary to search tickets to book on is not good. The base search in Korea is much better. Also, tempo always required filters to select, while not using the existing projects as a filter... Yes I can make a filter for that, but I have other things to do .. :-)

It's getting better
It's pretty easy to plan the workload and track the team burnout pace.
Vorteile
Overall, I'd say it covers the needs. The progress Tempo development team made in past year is pretty impressive. Trackers became way easier to use.
The reports are great, easy to customize.
Nachteile
That I can't buy the license only for the users I need tracker for.
I have a bunch of people in Jira that don't need the tracker, but I'm paying for them anyway. It's a bit of a downside.

Close, but no cigar.
Its mostly fine, but if there was something that fit my needs better, I would switch.
Vorteile
Generally, it is fairly easy for my team to log their time, and it is good that they can log it on EPICs rather than specific issues.
Nachteile
It's really clunky to administer the team and projects. There's no way to automatically add new projects to the team, and add new team members by default. Most importantly, the billing model is really frustrating. We do client work, and clients have access to our Jira -- But, clients will never ever log time. I don't believe that I should have to pay for those users as Tempo users. There should be an actual per-seat billing model, where I only pay for users who use tempo.

Good product and easy to use, a couple small changes would make it great
Overall we were able to go live and start using the timesheets without too much of a problem. We like it because it is fast and love the ability to download our raw data for reporting.
Vorteile
The software is pretty intuitive and both fast and easy to get time entered into along with a good ability to download data for different integrations we have from the API.
Nachteile
Some of the documentation is hard to use and find for the current version of the software. It seems like there is a lot of old or outdated information available.
When searching for issues to enter time against using the issue lookup box the search is fast but terrible. It seems really inconsistent why you get the result you do.

Layouts for the Payouts
Our employees are required to enter their time daily. Timesheets greatly simplified this process by giving them a weekly view with which to enter multiple tasks much easier.

The only time tracking solution for JIRA
It's a good product and I would really love to see more competition in this space. There is virtually no competition and Tempo doesn't have to innovate and further improve the product. In my perception there won't be further innovation unless there is a new player.

It's tightly integrated with JIRA and it works.
Nachteile
It just sucks to review 1500 worklogs for the entire team per month without a bulk edit feature. I have requested this many times, but gave up.

Great for running Professional Services software delivery teams
Vorteile
Tempo is directly integrated with Jira - so super easy to use and a seamless part of the team's daily workflow. Hours are tracked against tasks, epics, projects and accounts - which makes it really easy to get the reporting data I need.
Nachteile
The only thing really missing for me is pulling advanced financial reports based on the type of billing model I'm using for a client or project. I still need to pull the data and then run pivots and additional calculations to get what I need - but I understand this is on Tempo's product roadmap.

Just ok
Vorteile
It tracks time by issue and outputs the data into reports that are mostly usable.
Nachteile
It’s slow. Despite me always selecting things like grid view, etc., it often reverts back to other views I don’t use. Timesheets always default to displaying the entire current month - even when it’s the first day of the month.

It complements JIRA perfectly
I use Tempo Timesheets since two years ago and I find it very easy to track my work and to review the work of the rest of the team. Its nice interface and mobile app make it easy and pleasant for everyone to use it.
Vorteile
Integration with JIRA. Mobile app. Review of timesheets by team leaders. Approval workflow.
Nachteile
I found a little bit difficult to understand the role of accounts and other advanced features. I think those are great features that should be better highlighted.

Best Jira add-on for time trakcing
The stability of the product is not always at the level we'd like to see. Added worklogs won't show up immediately. Also the reporting and timesheet view for managers can use some work to make it more usable.

We really like the way we can work in Jira and add worklogs to Tempo Timesheets.

There is a load of data in the tool but getting it out within the Timesheets UI is not as easy as we would like.

Great for time reporting, when bundled with Jira
Well, hour reporting is much faster and much more transparent, and so is customer invoicing at the end of the reporting period.
Vorteile
Tasks are automatically there to report time on, if you use Jira consistently which we of course do. Good overview on the whole team and if there is some work time which is not reported.
Nachteile
At times, there are slight issues with getting the right amount of hours on the right day and task, and the wrong task is easily selected by mistake, and it is cumbersome to correct.

Great Product
Over the last couple of years, the experience has been positive. We are able to do everything we need to do I just wish you had options to view a couple of additonal items in the reports such as the original estimated time.

Perfect timelogger for our needs
Before having Tempo Timesheet we used a custom application which was horrible and not integrated with our project managment. So we wanted to simplify our daily life by getting something simpler.
Tempo was the right choice and has made it very simple to log time.
Vorteile
Logging couldn't be easier than by using Tempo Timesheets. Everywhere in JIRA there is a button or option to log time whenever a task is either done, in progress or just starting.
Nachteile
The icon looks like a checkbox: We use Check-list which has an icon that looks just like Tempo.. I wish the time was 3 pm instead of 10:10 ... you aren't selling watches you know...

Unable to restore timesheets when project got archived mistakenly in JIRA
Vorteile
Easy to log and review timesheets, connection to JIRA issues is great.
Nachteile
Spent about 40 hours over two months trying to restore time logs in the software. Ended up finally getting a data dump from their database so we could bill clients.

Ok, but missing a little UX
Vorteile
It's easy and does what it's supposed to do ok.
Nachteile
Migration between JIRA Software to Cloud is not supported.
Tracker in JIRA + chrome add-on is a little buggy (sometimes it starts at -20 seconds).
When you try to log time and you are already in an issue with the shortcut 'W', it ask you to set the issue manually.
Missing some basic configurations in my opinion, and configurable reminders.

Great Software
We have solutions the issue with people not entering their time and holding up billing.
Vorteile
Don't have to wait for people to get there time in. They find it easy and do each day. The reports are easy to create. You can customize the information so that it makes import into an accounting soft easy.

I really don't have any cons right now.

Good and usefull but not perfect
Vorteile
It's connected to Jira and easy to use with those task, also I can add account, information to adapt the repport with my needs.
Nachteile
Its missing an important feature, the other type of hour. When someone have to enter 40h per week it's perfect but if someone is sick, go to vacation, do paid extra time, bank extra time for futur leaves. Also, it's not usefull for the administration employee.

Tempo Data is great
Tempo has eased the burden of data collection whenever i need to better understand why my team may be behind schedule.
Vorteile
The ability to slice, dice, and create metrics to understand trends is really helpful.

I would love to be able to automate report generation so that i can receive weekly updates across programs and resources
