Updates without considering the users needs
Honestly, at this point I work with it because I have no other choice. But I am strongly pushing for us to get a different solution. I was fine until the timesheets were taken away and was hoping for improvements through added features

When I started to work at Kreios 3 years ago, we were already working with Jira/using Tempo Timesheets. We are constantly optimizing our processes and for HR as well as for invoicing I was able to implement standard processes
Nachteile
The recent update I like least because you just simply removed the "timesheets" feature and replaced it with "my work" which isn't anything but the reports filtered down to a person. So it wasn't a feature added but a major feature taken away. We had to instruct people on what they had to do different, we had to adapt our own accounting software that imports timesheets automattically, time tracking during weeks or months has become harder. I was honestly very upset about that. Another thing I don't like is that export feature isn't flexible enough. Also lines are cut off when there at the end of a page, no matter how you try to do it, if the export is too long. So they're not reliable (Monthly export for payroll)

Reliable Time Tracking Solution
Tempo Timesheets is a powerful time-tracking add-on for Jira that has streamlined our project and time management significantly.
Vorteile
It is very user-friendly, there is a detailed reporting and automation and approvals work perfectly.

Easy Time Management Tool

I love that our team can not only track our overall time and I keep track of team's time management, but we can track billable time with our connect to Jira and report out on how much time our team is spending on project tickets/tasks.

Nice product
I am mainly using Tempo Timesheet to track my time for the day and log time spent on specific tasksit a nice since i can edit it and log it in real time and view the data in real time

Good, but not great
Overall Tempo is a useful tool for time tracking against projects, but for the money can definitely be improved.
Vorteile
I like that this software integrates seamlessly with Jira Core, Software, and Service Desk.
Nachteile
I don't like the limitations on the reporting function and that I can not select which fields are exported in a spreadsheet.

Tempo is good
We had a issue of developers time tracking in proper way which should align with Jira. Tempo was a good selection to us.
Vorteile
Tempo is very easy to use compare to other tool. Its seamless integration with Jira, make our life easier for the project managment.

Tempo Timesheets Rocks!
We switched to Jira/Tempo several years ago (from FogBugz) because we needed a development tracking tool with a good time tracking system. We picked Jira Software Cloud first and then selected Tempo Timesheets for time tracking. No regrets with Tempo. Jira has been (and still is) an adventure at times, but Tempo Timesheets has been a solid performer from the start. And it has received significant improvements over time. It's a great choice for my company.

Easy to use.
Integrates well with Jira Software Cloud.
Reasonably priced.
Nachteile
Not big , but due to Jira changes, it now takes an extra click to get to Tempo time entry in a Jira ticket.

I like Tempo!
We use Tempo to collect the worklogs of our dev team which are then used to bill our clients.
Also, we use Tempo reports to compare the initial estimation of a ticket to the time that is actually logged.
Vorteile
I love that timelogs get connected to particular jira issues which is very useful when analyzing them and comparing the logs to the initial estimation. This is something that cannot be done with Toggl and it's the biggest reason we don't use Toggl.
Nachteile
The old Reports page from Jira server was quicker to use. There were fewer steps that you need to do to see the timesheets and you can very quickly switch between different projects or from a project report to user report. Saying that the newer timesheets page in Jira Cloud is much more powerful.

Tempo, how could you improve it?
Vorteile
- I like the UI
- Having the mobile app is very useful (approve the timesheets for example)
- I like to see Tempo from JIRA
Nachteile
- Some bugs as any other software, but the customer service always helped me
- There's a bad management of competition when 2 people log there time at the same time.
- The mobile app could have some improvements/new features
- JIRA is a complex software. Integrating a plugin to it is not an easy task
- As an admin I can't approve my own timesheet/re-open it, manage it like any other timesheet. If there's a mistake in my timesheet I have to ask to another admin. Unless there's a permission I missed?
- When searching a task when you log your time, you start with the key of the task in JIRA (KEY-123) but it only shows recently viewed tasks, you can't have the whole liste and search the one you are looking for (it should show the most recently viewed at the top and then all the issues.
- It would be nice to be able to duplicate a task logged in the timesheet
(these feedbacks come from the whole team)

It's getting better
It's pretty easy to plan the workload and track the team burnout pace.
Vorteile
Overall, I'd say it covers the needs. The progress Tempo development team made in past year is pretty impressive. Trackers became way easier to use.
The reports are great, easy to customize.
Nachteile
That I can't buy the license only for the users I need tracker for.
I have a bunch of people in Jira that don't need the tracker, but I'm paying for them anyway. It's a bit of a downside.

Great tool in an agile world
We've merged two different companies in the last year, with different (and complex) time reporting solutions.
Our biggest problems is the company structure we have. It doesn't fully align with Jira's thought of how a project is defined, where in Jira a project is tracking the life cycle of a product and in ERP a project is what a project manger traditionally would define as a project.
Tempo as a tool on it's own is really easy and intuitive to both administer and use. For a simpler (more modern) company structure it would have been a much easier implementation.
Vorteile
The ease of use for end users, it's very easy to on board new users to have their time reported.
Nachteile
Our management would like to have a bit more configuration when it comes to the reports, especially utilization to not only take logged time into account, but also include expected time.
Lacking approval on account basis rather than just full timesheet.

What's next?
Continue improving the product. We're using it and I'd like to push it out to others in our company.
Vorteile
I've used up to a dozen time tracking products, and the easy of use on this is the best. It creates less pain for a painful process of time tracking.
Nachteile
Some parts behave as unexpected. Removing people from teams/jira messed up their reports. Deleting Jira issues also deletes the time (This one is key - it'd be awesome if I don't have to worry about this)

Tempo Saves Hours on Reporting!
I used to spend hours and days compiling ticket hours and tracking down related sub-tasks at the end of a project. It was torture. Jira reports alone never could do what I needed, Tempo was the answer I was looking for.
Now it is simple to find hours related to an issue based on the project, epic, specific developer or the entire team. Tempo is both functional and flexible.
The unanticipated positive effects of this have been better analysis of projects based on the information from our reports. I thought I'd be happy just having the numbers. I'm finding out it's given us much more insight into the process timeline and choke points. We give better estimates... and that saves time and money. I have been able to identify and alleviate pain points that have made us a better team and deliver a superior product with every iteration. It has really helped to have a great reporting tool.
In my opinion, it's the best investment we've made into our project tracking technology suite of tools. I can't imagine using Jira without Tempo - and I hope I never have to!

With the click of a button I can get an instant project status update of our team's hours once I have set up a report.
Nachteile
In the beginning I couldn't seem to get all my tasks into the same report.
I think over time that challenge has made me better at using our Jira software so that I am able to create reports more efficiently as I include better information in my original tickets.

Layouts for the Payouts
Our employees are required to enter their time daily. Timesheets greatly simplified this process by giving them a weekly view with which to enter multiple tasks much easier.

We are using Tempo in our projects for our customer. It's very important to have a detailed time logging possibility. Tempo integrates well into JIRA Cloud but some of the features (e.g. tracking in the browser and not in the mobile app) are not intuitive enough.

Great for running Professional Services software delivery teams
Vorteile
Tempo is directly integrated with Jira - so super easy to use and a seamless part of the team's daily workflow. Hours are tracked against tasks, epics, projects and accounts - which makes it really easy to get the reporting data I need.
Nachteile
The only thing really missing for me is pulling advanced financial reports based on the type of billing model I'm using for a client or project. I still need to pull the data and then run pivots and additional calculations to get what I need - but I understand this is on Tempo's product roadmap.

Best Jira add-on for time trakcing
The stability of the product is not always at the level we'd like to see. Added worklogs won't show up immediately. Also the reporting and timesheet view for managers can use some work to make it more usable.

We really like the way we can work in Jira and add worklogs to Tempo Timesheets.
Nachteile
There is a load of data in the tool but getting it out within the Timesheets UI is not as easy as we would like.

Great Product
Over the last couple of years, the experience has been positive. We are able to do everything we need to do I just wish you had options to view a couple of additonal items in the reports such as the original estimated time.

Perfect timelogger for our needs
Before having Tempo Timesheet we used a custom application which was horrible and not integrated with our project managment. So we wanted to simplify our daily life by getting something simpler.
Tempo was the right choice and has made it very simple to log time.
Vorteile
Logging couldn't be easier than by using Tempo Timesheets. Everywhere in JIRA there is a button or option to log time whenever a task is either done, in progress or just starting.
Nachteile
The icon looks like a checkbox: We use Check-list which has an icon that looks just like Tempo.. I wish the time was 3 pm instead of 10:10 ... you aren't selling watches you know...

Useage of Tempo to track time
Good experience, we even interfaced it with out Timesheets tool to gain in efficiency
Vorteile
Integration with Jira Service Desk to log time with API to our analytic data
Lot of Reporting functionnalities to expose Tempo data on several axis (Project, Team, User, etc.)
New functionnality Account looks very interesting, but not yet implemented in production
Nachteile
A Lot of changes from one version to another one leading to new functionnalities but also to remove some functionnalities we used (board view in Planner).
Support can be sometimes pointing Atlassian (and vice versa) with the customer in the middle...

It’s customisable enough to fit most organisations. Report generator fits most needs
Nachteile
Would need better reports for the more advanced reports. Implement the JQL and we’re set

JIRA Cloud TEMPO user
Vorteile
It is very easy to log time on a ticket.
Nachteile
It does not have type of work as a customizable field.
Setting up reporting using Accounts, etc. is a lot of work and frankly have not been able to satisfactorily set up.

Nachteile
I'm administrator and user too. So I cann't approve my own Timesheets, because I cann't review my own work and there is no one who can do it instead... so all my Timesheets are still not approved

The bad performance when you try extract info from a team of 20 people, or when your try to see worklog from the last 8 quarters

Overall best timetracking system for Jira
Vorteile
Setup is very easy and fits exactly to our needs
Nachteile
Problems with tracking time from time to time, because tempo was very slow. Within the last months those problems did not occur that often anymore.
