Vorteile

I really like all of the features. I put a lot of my own video content up for clients, but the exercise library they have is huge, I use lots of those as well. It takes a few weeks of diligent use to become competent with the software, I also scheduled a phone training session that went great!

Nachteile

Just a couple things that threw me was that it was not quite as easy to use as it sounded in the ads, it also lacked a couple of features that I want... But they add new features all the time and as I mentioned earlier, now that I have been using it for a while it's great!

Vorteile

I love that it simulates how you deliver a workout to your client on paper. You create a workout, and the each time the client tracks it, it logs the sets, reps and weights. Simple and effective.

Nachteile

A little to long between updates. I'd love to receive minor bug fixes more often, than only get an update once a month (or sometimes longer between updates). Custom apps also are to far behind the official app it seems.

Vorteile

The ability to upload my own videos with ease provides the personal connection that is important to me and my clients. They can still see ME and I can still provide the variety they enjoy at a very low cost ! It also allows me to discuss and demonstrate modifications and specific cues which is important in working with my clientele which are all over 55 years of age.

Nachteile

Many options available on the desktop version are not available on the phone or tablet.

This is a pretty nifty browser- & app-based software that helps you plan workouts for your gym members. It's cool, because you can assign members to workout plans en mass or individualize them instead. Coaches can use it to help them manage & plan the workouts of members, and members can use it to track their progress in specific lifts/exercises. Additionally, it allows for you to assign instructional videos to certain exercises, so coaches & members alike can ensure they're on the same page when it comes to exercise technique.

Nachteile

It feels a bit clunky to use. There are quite a few features and sometimes certain things are difficult to access, whether it's on the web browser or in the app. And occasionally, things don't work or load, requiring you to refresh the app or web page.

Vorteile

Trainerize is incredibly easy to use - Plus, their support team is very prompt in their replies, and is willing to hear feedback from users! Since I started using Trainerize a few years back, it's added a great degree of functionality that's made it even easier to use than ever before.

Nachteile

Not to be a homer, but I can't complain! Whenever I've recommended an addition to the interface, Trainerize always delivered in a prompt and effective manner.

Vorteile

Keeping all the info and records of my clients in order and easy to access, providing them with all that's needed to follow their workout plan at their hand's reach.

Nachteile

Inability to handle two different clients at the same time in one mobile session or neing able to quickly move from one to another without having to save the info every time.

The idea is great. Seriously, it has a ton of potential. I do like how the app allows you to customize programs but then that's also limited. I also like the ability for the client to review their homework or workout on a certain time. Again, it makes things easier to manage.

Nachteile

Though the software has great qualities there's also plenty of limitations for clients with specific needs or programming. I also have found uploading onto the software to feel not-so user friendly and somewhat tedious. I think people really believe that this platform or fitness in general will be the same for everyone and that's so not true. Its still new and needing some work. Customer service has yet to unsubscribe my name from their emails so that's an issue as well.

The software is easy to use and allows for client customization​ at scale. The program design features are best-in-class, and the Payments feature has been a game changer for our business.

Nachteile

The changes to the Master Programs feature were frustrating. I'd like to see this feature improved

Love the wide variety of activities available on the app. Love the ability to customize the app to our brand. Love the ability to add our own personal exercises. Love the ability to grow the clientele base and make master programs/workouts to use on several subscribers. Saves a lot of time and allows to scale and reach more people and clients.

Nachteile

Would love to be able to add pictures (instead of only youtube videos) to our own personnal exercise library. Would also love to add pictures/documents as references for the client to see every time they log in to the app, if they need them.

Glitches, sometimes clients calendars and photos get mixed up for an hour or two, in the app only. Shuts down on the app at least once per day, making it not easy to use from my end

I love the ability to upload my own workout videos for my clients to use and the ability to create custom workout programs and templates. I've recently started to use the "workout progression" function as well which is pretty cool.

I also love the ability to compare my client's workouts from week to week and review their progress graph on certain lifts.

Nachteile

I wish we could add drop set options to the workouts, but it's not that big of a deal.

Doesn't work as well on Android compared to iPhone.
The older the phone to worse the program performs. I've tried two Android phones now both of the same age and Trainerize performance is decreasing.

I'm not in a position at the moment to get a new phone so I just have to persevere with it.

Can't record 'Drop Sets'

Need to include a complete nutrition section not out source it to another company that then has it's own fees. Check out what Virtuagym have done.

When I substitute an exercise for one that I've done before it will only show 3 sets option even if I know I've done 4 sets before and it won't display the previous weights recorded. I always have to add the extra set and check the history to see what was recorded. This doesn't happen on the iPhone.

Vorteile

I like the ease of use, and how it allows me to keep tabs on dozens of clients at once. The morning reports indicate who's following the program laid out for them, and who's not. The automatic messages it has enable me to do simple things like wishing my clients a happy birthday, and holding them accountable when I don't. Can't recommend this app highly enough!

Nachteile

One thing I would like for Trainerize to enable is to have a preview of what each workout you create entails. Over the years I've used it, I've come up with hundreds of workouts, and sometimes I forget which exercise are in each. Depending on the client, I'll sometimes have to flip through several workouts before finding one that's varied enough in comparison to what else they're doing that week, and is at the appropriate level.

I love the flow this software gives when writing out workouts. It's very beneficial to have YouTube as a back-up for videos. I also like the option to add notes when needed. The ability to customize workouts and keep track of past workouts for each client is very helpful.

The check-in's with pictures and measurements are very easy to read and compare.

Nachteile

I wish it had a nutrition feature to this program. It forces me to use another software instead of staying in one place. I also think that the cost is more on the high-end.

Very user friendly. Love the fact that I can add my own videos specific to my clients needs. Can change clients programs on my phone and do not have to log into my computer. So this makes things super fast and efficient service for my clients.

When I ran a promo I have several clients in a group training package. But then at the end when I took them off that group it deleted the programs that they had previously done so I could ensure I wasn't repeating their workouts.

The Android version of the app is terrible. It's slow, it doesn't always send notifications, some features are missing. I feel like in 2023 almost these things shouldn't be happening between Android and Apple users.I also wish there was a possibility to integrate not only with MyFitnessPal or Apple Watch but others like Cronometer for nutrition or Garmin/FitBit for trackers.

It’s user friendly for both the trainer and the client. My clients are telling me regularly how much they love using this app. I’ve tried other options out there but this had everything I needed with setting up my clients and helping them succeed. They love working in their group through Trainerize and seeing that the other clients are working out and hitting PBS helps motivate them to keep pushing when they don’t feel like it.

Nachteile

I’ve had a few clients ask about linking their fitness tracking devices other than Fitbit to the system as it’s not an option yet. We sent a request through and I’m sure it will be soon enough!

Ease of use, both on the client and trainer side. Metrics are very useful and the ability to search out all videos on you tube is great. I have gotten so much great feedback over the last 3-4 years of use!

I’ve been with Trainerize since 2014. They’ve come along ways since the beginning. I have full faith that they will continue to improve their product.

There is no offline tracking. Last time I checked, I cannot make a customized (master) program via app. To use the software properly you HAVE to use BOTH a computer (desktop website) and the app. It’s near impossible to use the desktop website on a tablet or phone.

I love Trainerize, the app allows you to send workouts directly to clients and alerts you when they have completed them. They also highlight you as a trainer to anyone looking for personal trainers in your area!

The only downside which they have now fixed was only having Paypal as an integrated payment option. Unfortunately, I had to merge my business into another software program prior to the change but I still use Trainerize to setup and send programs to my clients and I recommend it to all my trainers and coaches.

The fact that it contributed greatly in allowing me to expand my clientele and the way I track my client's progress. With the click of a button, I can go back and see how my clients are advancing. It's also great that they provide multiple means to track progress; such as body fat, pictures, and tape measurements. Once my client downloads the app, they will be able to see their progress, receive workouts and meal plans, and communicate with me through its built in messaging. I truly love this app and it's services.

Nachteile

What I like least about the software is that I am not able to print out a client's progress the same way I could their workouts,that is the only bummer that I have against it.

I like the ease of uploading my own videos, my clients find it easy to use and easy to follow. I like that I can design programs for program templates. I like that it appears that this is my app

It is a bit pricey, I can't see exact meals my clients are having. I would like to be able to respond to check - ins using my apple watch for instant correspondence. It would also be nice to have a back office for trainers to have bookkeeping even if we dont use the stripe app that is actually very expensive for me to use.

- Provides a personal experience for each client
- The ability to run group programs but still provide a customized approach to programming and coaching!

- it's set up to be training only so I have to improvise in order to provide lifestyle and nutrition coaching as well
- reporting has a lot of room for improvement for a business growth and development stand point (processing payments, tax statements, marketing/advertising)

After 2 years, building workouts has become second nature. The flow of the phone app and the website work well together when programming individual clients as well as groups.

Nachteile

The only flaw in the app is a lack of a booking platform for clients to both book into boot camps/classes and being able to see my availability in app (I combat this to an extent with google calendar integrated into my trainerize website)

The software helps keep my clients accountable to me and makes it very easy to communicate with each other. I can train more clients this way by spending less time in person, yet still giving effective workouts.

Nachteile

It's hard to think of any cons, because trainer is is constantly trying to improve the product. However I do wish it would sync with the Garmin watch like it does with Fitbit.

It is impossible to reach a live person. I don't understand why there isn't a customer service department if they claim to be open from "9-5." Also, I am trying to bill all of my programs through this app for the ease of my clients, and for tracking income to report for taxes, but this system only allows programs that are $1,000 or less. I don't understand why there would be a maximum charge from their system, as if they are stating I can't decide for myself what to bill for my products. It's extremely frustrating. For anyone that wants to pay up front, I have to charge them through Zelle because Trainerize only goes up to $1,000 per charge.

My personal trainer uses this app to post workouts for me on the days that I do not train with him. I love using it because I can keep track of my sets and reps and the weight I used. Also on the app is my nutrion plan which is always good to have handy to refer to when going shopping for groceries.

It's the best training platform I've used. There really aren't any. Any issues are quickly rectified. I'd like to see it become a stand alone training, nutrition and payment platform.

I like having all clients in one spot vs. worrying about individual files. I use Trainerize for both online and in-home clients. My clients love following the workouts and they are easy on my end to put together. I also like the option of tracking progress through photos, measurements and weight. It really steps up the accountability for clients.

I've used the software for three years and they've continued to listen to trainers' ideas and improved it more and more. It is a necessity in my business!

I wish they would incorporate healthy habits into the app. I have worked around it though by making habits as "workouts" to still allow clients to check in on them daily.

I love being able to customize my clients' workouts using videos from the Trainerize database as well as my own YouTube videos. It allows me to create the perfect workouts for them.

There have been a few recent changes I've been trying to get used to. The new master workouts grouping took me awhile to figure out although it makes sense especially when you have more thsn one trainer working offbof the same platform.

This software is a great tool to train and coach your clients. It has a large library of exercises you can use to train them and a nice messaging system to communicate with your clients. The app is easy to use and has great tracking tools for the most part.

I would say my least favorite things about this software are the price per client is a bit steep, and it is pretty limited on the type of nutrition trackers you can use for clients. If you want anything other than calories or macros you are out of luck.

Sometimes the software crashes or bugs out, where the user has to completely reboot the app and it loses their progress, but overall a great app!

This software is easy to use not only for myself as the trainer but also for my clients. (Not all of whom are tech savy) It helps to keep clients accountable no matter what their goals and my it allows me to continue to add on to my client base even when my face2face business is full.

The ability to take pictures, measurements and weight stats and see them all on a graph is a big plus as well. Some of my clients haven't lost much weight, but when we put the pictures together there is no doubt they are doing well.

I look forward to even more updates and to see where Trainerize goes with this app. Keep up the great work.

We experimented with many other products until one late night I was fed up and searched for an application that did all of the things we needed it to do in one place. I some how found Trainerize and have not turned back since. We can effectively manage client programs while keeping engagement and motivation high. The automation features make things a lot easier. Our clients live in the app. Those that engage with it the most have had the best results.

Nachteile

Some of the features on the dash are hard to interpret from the coaching side and the tagging features are a little bulky.

Trainerize is relatively simple to use for both the trainer and client. As a trainer I LOVE how easy it is to search for exercises to add to my clients plans, in addition to how easy it is to upload my own videos for clients.

Nachteile

My biggest complaint is with using the "messaging" feature interface while on my phone (android app). I just find this part of the app a bit clunky. When I am typing messages to my clients the window I am typing in gets smaller and smaller and it's hard to then scroll to see the whole message I am typing/go back and edit typos.

Vorteile

What i like most is that it has tremendous functionality and ease of use on both ends, for the trainer and for the client. In my experience, software programmers can have a difficult time looking at the programs from a user's perspective and also fail to consider the wide range of technical abilities of the users.

Nachteile

The thing I like least is that Paypal is the only point of sale program that is set up to be quickly implemented.
