I am doing architectural work on this software for more than 5 years, its my go-to software.
Vorteile
Its easy to use.
Shortcut keys makes it very handy.
Even if there are changes in the drawing, it is easy to change them quickly

More than just for beginners
Vorteile
I first learned about AutoCAD in high school. As a kid, this program was easy to use. Now, as an adult, it still is! It may take a little to be get used to the hotkeys and the functionality of the program itself, but that's the case for all programs. One of the best things about AutoCAD is its versatility in terms of importing and exporting files. I use quite a few programs while designing and being about to switch from software to software without any issues with exporting or importing is a key component.
Nachteile
My dislikes of AutoCAD is that the array of tools provided can sometimes seem convoluted. Every new versions provides more and more tools, which may be great, but it also adds more confusion. As a warning, people should be aware the some of the tools have a steep learning curve.

Vorteile
The ease of use of this program is great. Having pre-made features to insert is definitely a plus. 3D modeling of houses was also a big plus for this software.

My experience with this great software has been good because it helps me at work.

AutoCAD Architecture is very unique and easy to used.
Good software for the engineers and Architect
Vorteile
Its easy to use and hasn't changed much through out the versions. You can export to Revit/ Sketchup/ wtc. which makes it easier for use the program between trades and consultants. I really liked the use of tools for architectural designs. You can create anything to exact specifications with ease. Thumbs up to this wonderful product.
Nachteile
It is really expensive and The processing speed needs to be improved. It takes a while to get used to all tools and services at your disposal but once you have fully understand the tool then it become easier day by day

Basic requirement of civil engineering
Vorteile
It is a preplanner of project.autocad visually provoid every object which is necessary for any type of civil projects.It save lot of time and increase accuracy in work. I think that autocad designs is communication between engineers ,contractors and workers.

Some times file can crash and we cant open new version files in old version of cad only cad2000 file cn open in any version.we have to save our work continuously.

There are so many great benefits to working autocad architecture, you see your projects come to life before your eyes which is amazing. As you strive with the program everything gets better.
Vorteile
The program is easy and great once you get the hang of everything. You can work in your own capacity and arrange your space you need to work efficiently.
Nachteile
At first it was slightly difficult to get the hang of some features, but with time and patience it all got easier. As you work along you get the hang of everything and makes it easy to work.

AUTOCAD; un logiciel de cartographie très professionnel
Vorteile
J'ai commencé à travailler avec AUTO CAD en 2012, après effectuer une formation pour maîtriser ce logiciel. j'ai étudie l’aménagement du territoire et la géographie à l'université donc l'utilisation des logiciels de cartographie sont indispensable dans notre parcours.
AUTOCAD convient les architectes plus que les géographes, parce que il y a trois volets AUTOCAD 2D, 3D et 3D max. en effet, dans mon cas, j'ai utilisé uniquement le AUTOCAD 2D parce que je fais que la cartographie. Par contre, les autres niveaux 3D et 3D max sont très destinés aux architectes pour réaliser leurs plans.
Nachteile
AUTOCAD 2D; comme j'avais dit un logiciel de cartographie permet de dessiner les cartes mais les inconvénients de ce logiciel qu'il fait pas le traitement , le stockage des données comme d'autres logiciels d'informations géographiques.
je trouve que AUTOCAD convient beaucoup plus les architectes que les géographes

Best software for architectural drawing generations
Overall, I highly recommend AutOCAD. I have been using it for many years and definitely a great tool to start a design process. Other than architecture projects, you can use them for industrial design or many other design generated projects.
Vorteile
Many software support autocad drawing imports. Features allow accurate drawings and documentation. Documentation is fast and easy and somewhat automated. Great for schematic design document generation.
Nachteile
Not being able to organize and update the drawing at the same time is a drawback. Only one person can have the file open at the same time. Also, the 3D generation part is tedious.

From student to professional - AutoCAD works for both.
I have been using AutoCAD since I was in architecture graduate school, and for 3 years after that (total of 7 years).
Vorteile
Works seamlessly with the other software effectively, namely 3ds max and SketchUp. The AutoCAD interface provides a workspace that feels more intuitive and functional: grids, object snaps, polar trackers and the orthogonal mode behave like real-life T squares. Autocad also allows you to password protect drawing files, to prevent access to your drawings by other users. It's more intuitive than Revit.
Nachteile
AutoCAD is not as easy to use in 3D space - Revit is far more useful.

I have used this product for many years for creating drawings for my job.
Easy to use. Easy to navigate. East to show and design something to other people. Good visual software.
Vorteile
I like that i have control over layers, blocks, and objects. I love that i can do 2D and 3D drawing in the same file.
Nachteile
I wish it was a little bit more cheaper to buy the software. I am early in my career and most of my jobs require me to have this software, but my pay isn't enough to buy the software.

Go to for 3D printing
Solid product with many years of development behind it.
Vorteile
This software is the equivalent to photoshop except for the 3D design world. The best features are the integrations, but I also appreciate the architectural rendering capabilities beyond just the drawing aspect.
Nachteile
There is a steep learning curve. I had to take a course to learn how to use CAD, and even then there are many features I still don't know about.

Inefficient
Vorteile
It's not very different from the normal CAD, so if you're familiar with that, this software will be easy to use.
Nachteile
Unless I were a student, I would not invest in this software. Its extremely inefficient for creating architectural drawings because its not a BIM software like Revit, for example. If you are just using occasionally it for 2D drawings, there's really no need to get anything but the basic, cheapest form of CAD.

I have been using autocad since starting in the industry 10 years ago.
I still use this product frequently and it is great for all the laser cutting I do.
Vorteile
the software is straight forward and easy to use but has a lot of depth to its functionality if you want to spend the time and really learn the software. it is an industry standard and is still the most frequently requested file type.
Nachteile
the user interface is less intuitive than some of Autodesk's more recent software packages and the lack of 3D interface limits this products long term relevance.

Almost excellent, but not the best
Not a bad software, better than AutoCAD for sure, but you may consider learning better software like Revit or ArchiCAD

It's easy to use and matches AutoCAD interface, which is commonly used by engineers and architects alike

If you'll use it to build a complete model, it does not automatically update elevations and sections extracted from the model. The same goes to schedules, which must be updated manually after you change something in the model

Crazy amount of features!
I use it frequently for some projects at work, but as an urban designer, AutoCAD is not my main software that I use. But it's a great supplement to some of the tasks I need to get done.
Vorteile
It seems like the features for helping create designs are endless and so well though out by the developers of the software. For every thing that I need to do, there seems to be a tool that helps me achieve that task with ease.
Nachteile
Somewhat of a learning curve if someone is completely new to the world of architecture, but I was exposed to this software through a learning institution and therefore have grasped using it at my current job with not to much difficulty.

Its a great project
I like precision, and i like to satisfy my clients. So AutoCAD is the best i ever use. When i started it was a little bit hard to find out how to use everything (honestly, i don't use everything because there's too much), but now my level get increased. ✅✅

Its very pratice to use. SO we don't have to spend many hours by teaching others because.
Nachteile
We just need more updates and more templates. After that old user/customers may have lower price on the products.

The assets (furntiture, appliances, etc) were very easy to use, and saved a lot of time rather than having to make them yourself.
Nachteile
Seemed to be very taxing on my computer. It was an older desktop though, so it wasn't the most powerful.

In my experience as a Civil Engineer in remodeling works, the fact that can calculate the amount of material needed to execute the entire work according to the design volumes. The use of detail components such as bolts, beams, sections of structural members that work like blocks.
The work of several planes at the same time, of the different phases of the work in the same file. And of course the ease of sharing it with other engineers.
Nachteile
In some cases if the file is very heavy and the computer does not have a good space on the hard disk, the speed of execution of the work is slow

Great product for drawing up plans
Vorteile
I used this during college for some personal home designs. It's very simple to create the various elevations and floorplans. AutoCAD is definitely the standard within the industry. I have used CADsoft as well, and this is a nice upgrade.
Nachteile
It had a bit of a learning curve compared to some of the other software. It certainly is not tailored towards the basic/intro architects.

Simply, the Benchmark
Overall, using AutoCAD Architecture is fantastic. One of my passions is architecture, and I have been fortunate enough to be able to use this software for several projects. I have worked with a team to develop and design a hallway with entries and exits in a residence that was made significantly easier to contextualize with the use of this phenomenal software.
Vorteile
The interface is very streamlined and simplified. In a world where complex software seems to mean complex interfaces, Autodesk has done an excellent job making the tools obvious and user intuitive. I also am highly impressed by the capabilities of the software, as this is a step beyond just regular AutoCAD. The Architecture version is very smart, and doesn't just require user inputs, but it actually helps the user make decisions (regarding engineering of structure, etc).
Nachteile
The software is quite expensive, I must say. Beginning architects will face high barriers to entry with this software, and need to spend a lot to use it. Of course, what you can do with it outweighs the cost, but for some, the cost will just be too great. If your business can pay for it, or expense it, that is the way to go.

The way the command line interacts with the user, making him questions, is very helpful for beginners and either for experts.
Nachteile
The hatches need a very powerful computer. If your computer is not powerful enough, it will kill the program and, in the worst case, you will lost all of your progress.

Measurement to takeoff stage is a bit tedious, but pretty good. Wish there were more presets for obvious things.

Very easy to use, CAD is a powerful tool for drafting professional and designers like me.
the ability to produce construction drawings, floor plans are good.
Vorteile
i feel like the program its very intuitive for CAD users and gives you the ability to do 3D renderings of the projects.
Nachteile
I dont like the autosave doesnot work and when the program crashes I lose my work. Sometimes I tend to forget to save the work and the autosave its not there for me.

Linux Support
Please support Linux platforms. Sometimes so difficult to use on Windows.
Vorteile
Very usefull for drawing and viewing project. It has more functional features every new version. I recommend to prefer firstly before other alternatives.
Nachteile
It wants too much system requirements and not support Linux operating system. Linux systems are lite than Windows and osX

I miss the funtion for 3d drawings, that would be a good upgrade

I LIKED THE VARIETY OF ELEMENTS YOU COULD INSERT , SINCE IT SAVED ME A LOT OF TIME WHILE DESIGNIN A NEW SPACE
Vorteile
THE LIBRARY GAVE ME DOORS AND WINDOWS, THAT I COULD CHANGE THE MEASURE AS I NEEDED IT.
Nachteile
SOMETIMES THE ELEMNTES THAT I INSERTED WENT CRAZY ON THE MEASURMENT , SO FOR EXAMPLE, THE DOORS WOULDN´T SHOW .

Incredible program
Vorteile
This program is truly the standard when it comes to architecture, it's ability to export in different file types and its 3D features is incredible.
Nachteile
Can be very costly especially with software maintenance and all upgrades. I wish there was more tutorials.
